fixed, tyvm
How do I move the mbr to C? It's on D at the moment and I want to take D out.
So last Thursday, I received this e-mail from Currys (who I pre-ordered Windows 7 from a few months ago), which also told me I'd been billed as well.

Then today, I got a package in the post and found this inside.

Suffice to say, I laughed pretty hard at how they took the effort to specifically tell me I wouldn't receive my copy until after the 22nd.

I just nearly shat myself when I saw the disk said '32-bit Software'.
Then I looked underneath the disk and there it was.

Open an Administrator Command Prompt
Type:
bcdboot C:\Windows /s c:
If you're not using US English, you will need to add -l (locale) to that.

Awesome. There must have been some huge cock up with the distribution.
Yup, I got my Windows 7 from currys as well today. Did someone say fail?

they're sending it out early because of the postal strikes later this week.
Postal strikes, what?
Personally, I like Windows 7. It has good performance, looks even better, and is very useful. But there is one thing that makes me rage: many games crash very often, for instance, while TF2 loads, or when I change anything in settings in Crysis. The obvious thing is that old Unreal Tournament won't crash. I don't know what the hell is happening, but it's the main reason why XP is still my main OS.

Oh snap. At least something good has come out of the strikes.

Awesome, thankyou royal mail!
Quick question:
I want to have all my programs combine on my taskbar but I don't want the names to hide. There is no option for this.
All that I can choose from is: Never Combine, Combine when taskbar is full, and Always combine and hide labels.
:(

Ah, that's why I hadn't heard about it. I'm in the states.
How do I fix this?

No, silly me.
I installed home premium 64 bit and it's running a bit slow atm. I'll clear out stuff from my old install soon after I copy over steamapps and see if it improves.
I accidentally fucked media player up trying to get the toolbar back for it. Shit.
I just bought Vista Ultimate 64Bit with the Windows 7 Upgrade and its being shipped out at the moment, what do I do to get the Windows 7 copy? By the way,I was lucky, I got Vista Ultimate for $169 AUD!
So how do I redeem the voucher?

It probably comes with instructions.
Bleh, ClearType is still the only major bane of Windows 7 for me. It's designed to make everything easier to read, but instead everything ends up just becoming blurred or flanked by a pale green/pink line. I've tried tuning it a million times, I've tried tweaking it's registry values, I've tried just getting used it. All have failed miserably, and I now have to to turn it off as much as I can. Now you might be wondering why I'm complaining when I can just turn it off. Well, for some reason, it's hard coded into some parts of Windows like the clock and control panel. So it's never really off.
Maybe I just need a new screen (thinking of getting one for Christmas anyway). Can anyone suggest me a nice 22/23/24" monitor that handles cleartype well? Preferably 1900x1200/1920x1080.

I'm liking the look of the Asus VH242H. Shame the price is pretty inflated here in the UK.
