I don't know why Windows 7 is so popular among gamers, as it can crash every game that was released after 2004.
What a silly thing to say. Any game could crash on any operating system for any number of reasons. Plus, Windows 7 has been widely accepted as a stable platform for games, so if you're implying that it isn't, then you'd be wrong.
Windows 7 doesn't seem worth to change to. It's another 300 euros just for an improved taskbar which actually isn't improved at all since I'm used to the old system and it's fucking huge taking in more space than ever before, lower system requirements which I don't need since my computer isn't 10 years old and updated Paint and Wordpad which don't matter also since I got Photoshop and MS Word which are far superior. The looks are pretty much the same also, they didn't even bother to change the title bar of windows :Dawkins102: Now, a contest on how many dumbs I can get! GOGOGOGOGO!
It isn't 300 euros, it comes as low as a tenth that if you are in a university. You can make the taskbar smaller to about the same size as the XP taskbar while being infinitely more useful. It runs as good as XP in almost everything if not better.

There must be something weird, when games on 7 are working faster, but crash in moments than require CPU to work.

Oh I see my bad, I didn't know anyone actually got the full versions.
Yeah, let's just ignore that it's a ton faster and that it supports more hardware out of the box, not to mention a ton of minor additions that make the experience worth it.
I don't notice any slowdowns in Vista. And who cares how many hardware it supports out of the box, download a few drivers and it's all good.
Tabs in chrome in superbar. How.
They aren't new tabs they are windows. Weird.
Got my OEM copy of Windows 7 (Home Premium, x64) yesterday. Appears to be working faster than build 7100, but that might be because my 7100 installation was already filled with random games and other useless crap. The install went surprisingly fast, it just took 20 minutes total. Making and putting backups back on my computer however, took 4 hours. If not more. Also, it's noticably faster and more stable than Vista. I got my Vista installation stable and to my likings after tweaking some stuff, while Windows 7 does so out of the box.
hmmm....lots of good reviews on here so far, after the official Win 7 release, I'm probably gonna look into getting it. Would most of the games I currently have on XP still run on 7, like the hl2 games, the Orange box, and L4D?
99% of all the games will run on Windows 7 without a problem, and 100% of all Source games will run fine aswell.
I just ran Fallout 2 a couple weeks ago with no problem on Windows 7.
I don't notice any slowdowns in Vista. And who cares how many hardware it supports out of the box, download a few drivers and it's all good.
Because that's totally possible when Vista doesn't recognize your ethernet port, your wireless adaptor, and somehow, your USB ports. :downs: 7 is miles ahead of Vista, is faster, and is more stable. Just because it didn't adopt a whole new theme doesn't mean it's the same.
7 should arrive tomorrow :) Got everything backed up and ready to go.
http://arstechnica.com/microsoft/news/2009/06/windows-7-pricing-announced-cheaper-than-vista.ars
newegg has it for half that price.
I'd install onto her harddrive. No, wait...
you just downgraded my hardware to software.

$110AUD for HP 64bit, $150AUD for Pro 64bit and $219AUD for Ultimate. Not that bad, considering Harvey Norman had HP for $300AUD. Lol
OFFICIAL WINDOWS 7 RELEASE DAY!!! WOO HOO!!! (I feel bad for the suckers who couldn't get it through TechNet. :smug:)
You just gotta love poorly written articles on websites piggybacking on the release of a major operating system to garner some traffic/attention. Case in point: this article, entitled "Opinion: Ditching Windows has never felt so good". The author seems like a long-suffering Mac fan from skimming the article. The article is full of vague, baseless statements that don't really hold any water. For instance he whines about having to spend "endless blocks of time configuring the OS to fit my specifications". Fit to his specifications? What does that even mean? And it's not like customising an operating system is something mutually exclusive to Windows operating systems anyway. I could go on, but I won't for everyone's sake. If you can make it through the article without raging (even slightly), you're a better man than me.

Try reading an article before you criticize it. The article has soem baseless accusations in it, but it isn't nearly as bad as you made it out to be. It's not even like his points aren't valid, he just doesn't explain them.
Alright guys, a friend of mine is offering his Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit upgrade to me for $40. Should I take it?
Alright guys, a friend of mine is offering his Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit upgrade to me for $40. Should I take it?
Are you in college? If not then probably, but I would make sure it hasn't been opened before you buy it.
Are you in college? If not then probably, but I would make sure it hasn't been opened before you buy it.
Not in college. He says he'll get it to me once it comes in the mail for him, so I'll have to wait a bit.
That Digitalriver Download is weird.
