Wrote this a week ago. For a month of learning Java, do you think it's impressive?
Not bad at all. Though I'm hardly in a position to judge, since I have zero experience with Java :v: I thought your post was C++

We'll start learning C++ eventually. Probably in a year or two.

Wonderful story.

I thought so. 7 isn't exciting anymore since I've used it for so long. OS X on a shiny new laptop is.

Yes.
Also my Steam will no longer run. I've tried running in compat and admin mode, and it logs in fine, but it doesn't open a window for it. If I try to open a window from the system tray it closes itself 2 seconds later :/

Welcome. Welcome to Windows 7. You have chosen, or been chosen, to relocate to one of the finest (read: only) remaining operating systems. I thought so much of Windows 7 that I elected to establish my Administration here in the Windows 7 thread so thoughtfully provided by Garry. I have been proud to call Windows 7 my home. And so, whether you are here to stay, or being a macfag and passing through on your way to parts shitty, welcome to Windows 7. It's faster here.
It fucking screwed up my network. I can't do shit on the internet. It took me at least 10 minutes to get from google to sending this message. Ahhhhhhh!

Wow, apparently I had to do something special with my software for it. Looks like it's fixed. Moving on...
Now how do I change an program's icon on my desktop? I got a nice icon set and I want to use it badly.
2 years from now: Windows 8 build 7993
Edit:
Wasn't being literal about the build number even though it should be around there.
Can't wait for the Windows 8 Alpha, hopefully it will be as stable as the Windows 7 Alpha...

Gee you are smart :downs:, why don't you just try making a NEW shortcut.
Some programs just create special shortcuts like that; I really don't see the point in it.

So then where do I actually change the icon then?

Vista SP3
Windows 7 SP1
Windows XP SP4

This has probably been asked before, but if I buy 64 bit, would there be an option to install 32 bit?
I bought a netbook and put the 32bit rc on it, netbook didnt come with winxp license [even though it had XP on it]. I want to buy 64bit 7 for my main pc, but not have to buy it again just for 32 bit.
So then where do I actually change the icon then?
If you create a new shortcut, then the "Change Icon" button should no longer be grayed out.
Just go to where you installed Steam -> right click -> send to -> Desktop
Now you have a spanking new shortcut ready for editing.

Now it won't let me use .ico files.
I was able to do this before on Vista, why can't I do it on 7? :saddowns:

youd have to buy it again anyway because the license only works for one at a time.
If I buy Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade Family Pack will it include both 32bit and 64bit?

Maybe you could do some research and find out for yourself.
[sp]And if you still haven't figured where the information is it's under "Offer details"[/sp]
