Wouldn't you rather have have 4 parallel windows rather than 4 quarters if your widescreen monitor is so big?
Either way would be fine, I'd prefer it wider though. I assume there is no way to make this happen?
Anyone else having problems with installing the Nvidia drivers? It says it installs it but the Nvidia control panel won't show up. I'm trying to install 191.07 :S
Yeah same for me, it's installed but no control panel in the corner. [editline]01:13PM[/editline] Oh and it says i have 1.2GB of VRAM, when i only have 512MB, what's up with that?
-snip-
The drivers that came together with Windows itself are fine, but I'd really prefer having Nvidia drivers... I tried installing older drivers but nothing, it still fails to install.

If anyone is thinking of getting a technet subscription now would be a good time, Microsoft is doing a promotion for Windows 7: http://www.itproportal.com/www/news/article/2009/10/22/buy-windows-7-less-through-microsoft-technet-direct/ 25% off promo code in the article.

Oh right, because it says underneath 'Dedicated memory: 512MB' so i guess that makes sense. Another question, i have 2GB of DDR2 800Mhz RAM currently installed and in my drawer i have another 2GB but they're only 533Mhz and have slightly different timings. Is it worth having 2GB more RAM at the cost of a slower clock speed? Because when i put the slower RAM in i know that all RAM will be set to the same speed as the slowest Stick of RAM. Yes i have 64Bit.
I suppose that if you've ever been at a point where you have more than 80% RAM usage, the trade-off would probably be worth it. Just be sure to put them in the right slots to maintain dual-channel.

Pixel Heart, that looks ugly as shit.

Well I've searched the Intrawebs for an answer to my problem and find non. All I found was a few people with the same problem but not a single solution. It seems that this problem is extremly rare :(

Once it's installed right click the desktop and the control panel should be there.
Well I got it fixed now.. Took me the whole day but yeah, here's what I did just for the record: - Uninstall Nvidia drivers from through the Control Panel - Delete everything left by the drivers with DriverSweeper - Restart - Extract all the files from the drivers exe - Rename or delete the Physx exe that are in C:/Nvidia/..../ - Manually run the setup.exe file in the same folder - Congrats, the installation went fine
I heard that Vista had a lot of problems when it came to games, is this true? And has Windows 7 fixed these problems? Because I'm seriously considering an upgrade.
I heard that Vista had a lot of problems when it came to games, is this true? And has Windows 7 fixed these problems? Because I'm seriously considering an upgrade.
no and no. and yes you should.
Is it possible for me to use a Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit upgrade disc on my current Windows 7 RC installation?
Is it possible for me to use a Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit upgrade disc on my current Windows 7 RC installation?
Possible yes, but not recommended. Much better to do a clean install.
Possible yes, but not recommended. Much better to do a clean install.
My friend is offering me an upgrade disc for $40, I don't have $200+ for a full retail version so this is a great deal for me.
My friend is offering me an upgrade disc for $40, I don't have $200+ for a full retail version so this is a great deal for me.
You can do a clean install with the upgrade disc.
You can do a clean install with the upgrade disc.
This, I should have said better to do a clean install with the upgrade disc.
Okay so I have Windows XP, and if I upgrade to Windows 7, will I lose anything? Will there be any complications?
Okay so I have Windows XP, and if I upgrade to Windows 7, will I lose anything? Will there be any complications?
You'll have to do a custom (clean) install since direct upgrades from XP aren't supported. If you choose to reformat your drive then you'll have to back up all your stuff first, if not then everything will be moved to a folder called Windows.old
I have a bit of a problem. I installed Windows Ultimate when I need Windows Home Premium. How would I go about changing versions? I do not have any CDs available.
