Sitting here with Windows 7 ultimate final version
I tried the Pro version instead of Ultimate, and it installed so much faster. About half the time. Professional x64 is the way to go in my house.

Realy don't care about the install.
oh sweet you can do more than one download from MSDN
BRB netbook needs a copy
Care to pass a key my way? <3
What's the best way to install on a netbook with a GPT (and with EFI set up)? I can't really overwrite the MBR (chameleon is resident, but I can tell chameleon to detect the 7 bootloader) - flat install?

Just install 7 from a USB drive, wiping the partition clean.
I can't, I have too much shit already set up (OSX, Ubuntu) - plus 7 is bitchy about installing to GPT

I think that's against the t&s, sorry.

How many keys can you generate through MSDN? I thought you could only get the one, wouldn't mind another copy of Windows 7 for my other PC. :v:
I posted this in the first thread a while back but...
If your school is part of the MSDNAA (check here: http://www.msdnaa.net/search/schoolsearch.aspx) and you have a major dealing with computers or IT, you can get W7 Pro x64 and x86 for free.

if your school shows up here, what do you do next? I did some searching a while ago and gave up because I couldn't get any answers
I really want Win7. Too bad the laptop I'm using can't support it. So I'm rolling with WinXP and a Win7 theme. Kinda nice actually.

That must be a really old laptop, the RC works perfectly on a laptop I got in 2004.

There should be a link labeled "Get Software", if there isn't one, I don't know where to go from there.
If you do have one, click it and look for Support and click that. They list an email that you can get information from.

As many as you require.
I just got an email from House Party, that apparently, even though I never signed up for the second stage of the party, they're giving me a free signed copy of Windows 7 and a free Family Pack. HURRAH.
Thanks for the free OS Microsoft!
rargh MSDN site is so confusing.
XP is still treating me well, and I don't intend to turn my back on it for some extra features and lots of bells and whistles.
Next PC I get from scratch I'll use 7.

Xp is a bloated unsecure piece of shit compared to 7.

I heard Windows 7 called the most interesting thing today "Windows version 7", which is a lie.
I put XP back on my netbook. Holy god 1.74GB free out of 4GB. XP has its uses after all

That's a ridiculously small hard drive.
[editline]08:33PM[/editline]
Wow, you got 7 on that thing? My Windows folder is bigger than 4GB :aaa:

That happened to me once in Windows 7 on my H laptop... couldn't figure it out, so I just made new shortcuts.
Sadly, iTunes keeps killing it's own shortcuts, which is still a mystery.
oh right click on the desktop>view>show all icons

It's an SSD, so it's super small. Enough for XP but. And yeah Panda I used vLite. Cut the installer down to 1.3GB or something.
Windows 7 is cool.
I just realized that you can use slideshow desktop. :rolleye:
I have been using Windows 7 for a month.
