Try disabling it then, and/or uninstalling the drivers.
I just got windows 7 today. I never got Vista and had XP all this time. I'm very satisfied with Windows 7.
I have a problam. Since installing Win7 64 bit(clean install), my PC won't shut down properly anymore.
The screen turns off, but the HDD's and the fans remain active as well as the power led still being active.
Does anyone have similar problems?
Looks like my problem is bloatware and updates then. Gotta update my drivers and clean up. So far pretty often every single program freezes, including taskbar (so I can't shutdown/restart normally), and even task manager. Why the hell would you have your primary tool for killing frozen programs be just as easy to freeze?

It's not easy to freeze unless your computer's really screwed up.
Okay, after having it all freeze on the first steps of ANY installation or update process, I officially deem it "really screwed up".
Well considering I am running Windows 7 on my Eee PC 1005HA with no lock ups or anything of that nature I would agree with you.
My disk comes today, i'm happy

Sounds like you're making it Sleep instead of shutting down.
Can't you just use a CD-RW?
For my netbook. I've sold it now anyway so meh. Whoever sold it now has has free Peggle and an image of the c:\ drive :v:
they copied it so much there's a folder called panther in system32!!!!111
The taskbar was like this before, in Windows 1.0. Everything else is just vista, which Mac actually sorta copied (By making their main bar at the top and other things semi-transparent after vista's release).
Actually, Microsoft copied Linux, since Linux has had transparency support since long before Vista.

That is some pretty awesome shit, I didn't even know it could do that!
That is some pretty awesome shit, I didn't even know it could do that!
Unfortunately, it can't . You need mediabrowser for the awesome info displays and pictures, and metabrowser to add the actual data and pictures to your videos. Mediabrowser sometimes downloads metadata automatically, but it's best to use the more in depth metabrowser, which allows you to get down and dirty with that naughy metadata.
I'm on vacation and since I am I thought I'd bid farewell to FP since I'm IP banned at`home. I had fun here.

This is why we have proxies.
Going to dualboot Vista and 7 again. I miss my compatibility with older apps and XP mode is a fucking joke.

Restart router and get new IP? WE CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT YOU HERE IN THE WINDOWS SECTION :frown::frown::frown:
I'm pissed, Acer sent me Windows 7 for my laptop. They sent me two DVD's, but my laptop doesn't have disk drives which they obviously know.
I made two .iso files out of the DVD's an put them on my laptop and halfway through the install it tells me that some of the files are corrupt/don't work.
Is it possible to download an upgrade if you have a W7 key?
If you have a key just download or ask a friend if you can borrow their install disk. As far as I know this is not warez, sorry if it is.

Yeah, I have to agree. You need to use a proxy or something, you're a key figure around here Panda, if it wasn't for you I wouldn't have came to love 7.

Sometimes, I dream about getting something really old, that runs windows 98. Or tripple booting XP, 7, and 98.
On a side note, how many OS'es can you have on one pc?
Also: Yay I reinstalled 7 from recovery disks, run update, and installed a real AV. After reinstalling, steam runs very well and shiny according to hardware
Fucking shit, Media Center outright REFUSES to play select AVI files. My firefly collecton and a season of House are unplayable, thanks to a 'Cannot play video: Windows media center cannot open the file' error showing up when I try to play them. To add insult to injury, it plays about half a second of the video before giving up and hitting me with the error, showing me it can play it, but it really doesn't want to. I can even play MKV files with the bloody thing, but these few AVI files are fucking cunts.
Edit: Turns out I got too in depth with the settings and changed them in a conflicting program as well as my codec config. Media Centre now lays every single video format I have, audio and video perfectly in sync.
How long can we keep up a megathread about an OS which is now released do you think?

This is phenomenal. Thank you so much.
This is phenomenal. Thank you so much.
One more thing: If youre running a 64 bit OS, Media Centre won't be able to play quite a few formats, due to it requiring native 64 bit codecs to play files, which are rather difficult to find. I recommend Windows 7 Codecs and its x64 components addon if you've got a 64 bit OS. It may look a little tacky, but it does its job extremely well, and has some of the fastest x64 decoders I've seen.
Has anyone had a problem with region zoning on Media Center? It says that my zoning is set to region 1 when it should be region 4 (Australia).
