Windows 7 HP doesn't come with a E-Mail program. For them to do that is just stupid.......... It is in everything above HP!

Re-installed 7 today, except this time through a flash drive. It took exactly 10 minutes. 10. I was like "Holy fucking shit!"

The flash drive doesn't do anything. The only time it's accessed is in the very beginning when it copies setup files to your hard drive.

That's the point, that part takes forever with a DVD.
Takes like 5 minutes for me.
Forever relative to a flash drive.

Then why does installing with a DVD take 25 minutes, while a Flash drive takes 8?
Then why does installing with a DVD take 25 minutes, while a Flash drive takes 8?
If you're talking about the actual setup part, after partition decisions or whatever, then it's placebo. Anything before that, you can probably blame on the DVD.
Is there a real reason for not being able to upgrade from xp to 7 or is gates just being a dick?

Too much has changed, I assume.
Is there a real reason for not being able to upgrade from xp to 7 or is gates just being a dick?
I would also like to know the answer to this question, since most XP users have been waiting to do upgrade installs from XP to 7.
:bang:

From "Thanks for all your information! We're now expanding files and such" to "Please enter a username" it took exactly 8 minutes. That is insane fast. Same process on a DVD took around 25-30 minutes. Flash drive was much faster, I doubt it was placebo.

Odd, but the DVD/flashdrive aren't even accessed during that part of the setup.
It is.

I think.
It's not. Once it gets past the "Copying Windows Files" step, the installation source is no longer needed.
Damnit, why can't Windows fix networking once and for all. None of my computers can see all of the others in the Homegroup, even though they all belong to it and they all can see each other over the network.

Make sure you're in the same workgroup.
Make sure you're in the same workgroup.
I am, the default workgroup. It's really bizarre, my laptop and second desktop can see my main desktop but can't see each other, and my main desktop can't see either of the others. They all have the same Homegroup and sharing settings too.
im still sticking whit the old fashioned uber leet windows xp
do all your computers have windows 7? because homegroup only works with win7 pc's
Of course, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to get them to join the Homegroup.
Just the other day my main PC was able to see my laptop and I think I even remember it seeing the second desktop at one point, I can't think of anything that's changed since then :/
