New MacBook huh? Enjoy living in poverty.

Only further proves that a vast majority of Mac users are elitist-douchebag pricks.
I wish Microsoft could attack macs more in their commercials; it wouldst be mean, just true.
I wish Microsoft could attack macs more in their commercials; it wouldst be mean, just true.
but that's not likely to happen because Windows ads are used to advertise a product
No way man Windows 7 is way better than Vista it was gay, Windows 7 lets me play games at propr speed now
Too bad vista and 7 are the same thing.
Anyone that thinks otherwise is wrong. 7 is just vista with the bloat cut off. It still uses the same kernel and all that other good stuff.
but that's not likely to happen because Windows ads are used to advertise a product
True that. I just feel that Apple deserves it.
Only further proves that a vast majority of Mac users are elitist-douchebag pricks.
To be honest, if PCs were to cost 20% more than your average Mac, we'd probably turn elitist too. It seems like it's human nature to act like a product you bought for more is superior, even though it sometimes isn't superior in every way.
I still haven't bought the damn thing yet :emo: I need money, that Student offer isn't going to be around forever :v:

I'd build my own. Like I always do.
New MacBook huh? Enjoy living in poverty.
Yeah I'm living off £2 for 3 weeks now because of my Macbook. Worth it though, though I should imagine my Bank of Mum and Dad disagree.
Wow, windows starter edition sucks. I can't change the wallpaper.
[editline]02:54AM[/editline]
Actually, I found some hacky way to replace the original desktop wallpaper.

Wait are you serious? Is that not an option at all?
Edit:
* Aero Glass, meaning you can only use the “Windows Basic” or other opaque themes. It also means you do not get Taskbar Previews or Aero Peek.
* Personalization features for changing desktop backgrounds, window colors, or sound schemes.
* The ability to switch between users without having to log off.
* Multi-monitor support.
* DVD playback.
* Windows Media Center for watching recorded TV or other media.
* Remote Media Streaming for streaming your music, videos, and recorded TV from your home computer.
* Domain support for business customers.
* XP Mode for those that want the ability to run older Windows XP programs on Windows 7.
Straight from the Windows blog. I have to say, removing the ability to personalize your desktop seems crazy. Sure remove Aero and other features, but no customizing your desktop? That should be a given.

ONe of the many bad things about 7
Nope, can't change the permissions on the folder.
ONe of the many bad things about 7
Of course, because Windows 7 Starter Edition is obviously representing all versions of 7. I am happy to say I am running Windows 7 Pro and can't find any downsides to it. Stop with the ignorant comments.
ONe of the many bad things about 7
It's just the starter edition you twat.
You're much better off just installing Home Premium via a flash drive than dealing with starter.
If I can just change the permissions on this folder, I could replace the default desktop image with my own,

It should work.
[editline]03:08AM[/editline]
aha got it
I never liked the Basic theme, it's so ugly looking.
Nope didn't work.
[editline]03:15AM[/editline]
Well this blows, I overwrote the original desktop background and now the wallpaper is just black.
Starter should be free, as sort of a Windows 7 "trial" :v:

I just read a bit more into starter edition. It is not worth it under any circumstances.
This ultra-cheap edition is intended for use on netbooks, but its biggest restriction sounds like a complete deal-breaker: it only runs three applications at once.
They removed that three application limit a long time ago.
They removed that three application limit a long time ago.
And it rarely worked before they did.
They removed that three application limit a long time ago.
Oh really? That's pretty cool then. I suppose it isn't too bad then.
