What the fuck is with MSN? Why the fuck would I want an extra window instead of a tray icon - STUPIDEST IDEA EVER.
Had to fix it by running it in vista compatibility, but that just feels hacky.

Actually, I recommend Windows 95. As for that 7 copy, send it my way, I'll make sure it never sees the light of day.
I already have another laptop that runs Windows 95. It's 150MHz processor screams through games such as StarCraft.

I got used to it and I like really like it now.
Federated search is awesome.

or that
I never really liked the whole Libaries and Homegroups thing, but now that I have a few computers running 7 it seems like a really nice system.
I agree. They are a nice system, but I have a difficulty actually using them. Just a matter of getting used to it.
Installing Win7 on my laptop haha... I don't think this will work, the color mode is 256 colors out of the box :v:
Seems 64bit Windows is more trouble than 32bit. Team Fortress 2 crashes more now, and my graphics drivers have stopped working/responding twice in the past week (the first time, Windows recovered them and everything was fine again), forcing me to hard reset my system. Hopefully, this won't keep up for long.
Not a fault of 64-bit. You're probably just being unlucky with that specific hardware configuration.
Drivers just died again when playing RE5. What the fuck.. I'm probably gonna reformat and install Win7 again when I order it off Newegg.

What driver is dying?
Just wondering, Is it possible to replace Minefield's (Firefox 3.7) icon in the superbar?
I've reshacked the firefox.exe and replaced the 3 icons in there but it still shows this after a reboot.

Shortcuts didn't help either as minefield actually runs in a different icon then.
I have a feeling it's to do with the tabs all being displayed as separate aero peek windows.
What driver is dying?
I'm assuming its my graphics card driver (ATI, but I downloaded the latest drivers from their site when I first started up my system), because the first time this happened/ the screen went a weird color, tf2 minimized, screen went back to normal, and then a notification bubble said "...Driver stopped responding, but was recovered by Windows". It just happened, AGAIN, while playing tf2.. The screen went brown, and I had to reset my system. It's really confusing, as how I just built this system a week ago.
Specs if needed:

Well, it seems like tf2 is acting up.. I just reinstalled it (the drivers problem started after I reinstalled), because I wanted to reskin some stuff. (I had almost everything skinned, and wanted to start a-new.) Right now, I had a few skins, so what could be causing the problem?

JUST HAPPENED AGAIN.

Did get a video, downloading WMM (ugh) to edit it and upload.
Where the fuck are you guys all getting that grey theme? Do want. :/
It's Panda's theme. http://thepanda-x.deviantart.com/art/SmoothVS-for-7-Blue-Alpha-131379230
Some help in return? :frown:
I have no idea about the drivers. I can confirm, however, that Catalyst 9.8 is very stable. It's the one I have right now and it has never crashed. Try that version.
Wow Panda, that's one sexy theme.

I just unistalled the drivers and had Windows find them for me; I'll see if that makes a difference from installing them off ATI's site. And a quick question, if I have to install Catalyst; I can disable the system tray icon right?

Yes, though you might need Autoruns or some similar program to disable it.
Upgraded to 4GB of memory, and just got W7 installed. That was the first time a reformat didn't result in me getting drunk.
I'm liking it so far, although the new taskbar is taking me a while to get used to for some reason. Something about mixing open programs with the quick launch bugs me.
So I installed Vista on my laptop. Runs like a dream. Windows 7 won't run because my BIOS won't properly support ACPI the way Windows 7 wants to :/

I think its the graphics card. Its an XFX Radeon 5770. I'm going to see if I can get a replacement.
Just had my first crash. The Fallout 3 launcher was just getting settled into its new home I guess.
It does make quite a difference whether you got the drivers from Windows Update or ATi's site. Try 9.8, and yes, you can always hide the icon.
Just built my first computer a week ago and installed Win7 Home Premium 64bit on it. After getting used to it the computers at school (Which use xp) seem so... primitive...

The original drivers were from ATI's site. Right now, tf2 crashes right before getting into a server. Funny, CS:S is working perfectly. I'll see tomorrow, maybe my system just needs a rest, it was on all day.

Nevermind, Fixed it.
I had to open the Minefield folder where the .exe was after a reboot and for some reason that changed the icon in the superbar.
