God dammit, I sent this as a suggestion to the school: " The laptops given to all students next year should have the newest Windows OS, which now is Windows 7. It is faster and more secure than the current OS that we are using, which is Windows XP". They replied with: "Thanks for your suggestion, but it will be impossible to have it for next year. Perhaps the year after next and only for those newer machines that will support the heavy Windows 7." The fucking laptops came with vista ffs. They're more than enough to handle 7
They are giving laptops for free, so why should you care what os is on it.
Like I said before in another thread, it's not free. I won't explain how it works because I can't be bothered; and I care because I am the one using it, and because in fact, it isn't free
Like I said before in another thread, it's not free. I won't explain how it works because I can't be bothered; and I care because I am the one using it, and because in fact, it isn't free
If it's not free, then shouldn't the laptop belong to you?
If it's not free, then shouldn't the laptop belong to you?
Exactly, my parents are forced to pay extra for them per month or something
Exactly, my parents are forced to pay extra for them per month or something
Then just don't pay extra and buy your own laptop.
Then just don't pay extra and buy your own laptop.
they are FORCED to pay extra, the laptops are "part" of the school
they are FORCED to pay extra, the laptops are "part" of the school
then they're not exactly paying extra
What do you mean?
I meant that leaving something crap and going "oh but add ons will fix it" is stupid.
I meant that leaving something crap and going "oh but add ons will fix it" is stupid.
You have to do the same exact thing in both VPC VMWare and Vbox. Install guest additions/integration features. Nothing new. Anyway thi will be my last post on FP. My dumbass stepbrother made a ban-me and since he comes over here occasionally we share the same IP at times. So I'm permanantly IP banned. Had to use my iPhone on someone's unsecured wireless connection to post this. If you ever need anything you can contact me on Live at thepanda@live.com Bye
Bye Panda. :frown:
You have to do the same exact thing in both VPC VMWare and Vbox. Install guest additions/integration features. Nothing new.
Doesn't make it acceptable.
I'm pretty sure you can PM a mod who would help you out.
I talked to Garry. I won't be unbanned.
Doesn't make it acceptable.
Then XP Mode is unacceptable too since it just has the integration features preinstalled.
I talked to Garry. I won't be unbanned.
You could call your ISP and ask them to change your IP.
:frown: I probably wouldn't have even bothered with Windows 7 in the first place without Panda, I'm sure I'm not the only one
I talked to Garry. I won't be unbanned.
Ah man :(
You could call your ISP and ask them to change your IP.
Dunno about your isps, but mine asks me 20$ for ip change.
Guys, this scheduled disk check just starts every time, and it never finishes, HALP!
Then XP Mode is unacceptable too since it just has the integration features preinstalled.
That is precisely what makes it good.
That is precisely what makes it good.
You're making my brain hurt. That's like saying Alienware prebuilts are good and all other brands are unacceptable because Alienwares are the only ones with Steam preinstalled.
Has anyone tried the double install trick with the upgrade editions of Win7 that come from the Student offer? I don't want to buy the upgrade just to find out I will have to buy the full version to run it on a new rig at a later time.

And why are MS supporting a way of circumventing their upgrade requirements? Thats so illogical I might have to send angry e-mails. I also just thought, so long as I somehow get the money for a new build before the RC dies I could probably just use that to upgrade from.
You can if you wanted to.
I'm loving windows 7 so far, with XP my laptop couldn't get playable framerates running half life 2 on lowest settings. With 7 I get much better framerates, and I can even get Garry's Mod running without crashing.
