Is there anything F5 can't do?

i have minefield (firefox 3.7 beta) pinned to the taskbar. normally when you click a program the little box expands into a bar, but with minefield the box stays there and creates a new bar
why does minefield do this
it's the only program that does it. even the firefox 3.6 beta 4 doesn't do it

fixed it

Well, proof 7 is good - I'm running it on a 2002 Celeron 2.3 GHZ, 768MB DDR Ram, a 5200RPM 40GB hard drive, and a GeForce 5500FX - the lowest card to support aero. And wow - it's fast. Not as fast as my main computer but faster than XP on there was. It's weird, really. Sure you can't multitask with like 6 programs very fast because of the shitty celeron and / or video card and / or lack of RAM, but for doing two or three things at a time it's pretty snappy.
Would there be any massive graphical improvement if I upgraded from XP with Direct X9 too Direct X11 on Windows 7?

No except for games that utilise DX10/11
Hm, should I give a box or bad spelling...
Damn this thread is quiet.
Not surprised considering that Windows 7 is out.
Yeah, it's just weird that this thread used to have like 80 new posts every time i looked at it.

14,718 posts over the span of 3 Megathreads seems to be good enough.
Just finished installing Windows 7. Looks great so far, can't wait to see what it has in store.
Thought about buying Windows 7, but I just can't figure out what version to buy. I was looking at 64-bit W7 Professional, but I compared it to Home Premium (Does 64-bit even exist there? Can't remember) and I keep getting confused.
64-bit home premium exists and is probably the one you'd want.
Unless you actually need the extra stuff that comes in the other versions.
Why does every gamer want Pro? HP is fine and there's absolutely nothing you need in Pro if all you do is make maps and play games.

But then you won't be pro
But then you won't be pro
With that logic you should just get Ultimate :v:
But if you get both, you would be Ultimate Pro :v:
I'm gonna get starter since it's the first version so it's the number 1 version of Windows 7

wait no
I perfer Windows XP.
Just wondering, has anyone successfully installed upgrade 7 as a fresh install? I'm getting the student edition, and wasn't sure if it would actually work as a clean install. Any confirmation of it would be nice :buddy:

Good for you.

So last night I upgraded to Vista Ultimate 64 to 7 Ultimate 64, and I'm AMAZED at how every single program, file, and shortcut is running perfectly and in same exact spot it was in Vista. I knew 7 would do a nice upgrade, but holy shit, this is a perfect upgrade, it seems like an update it was so smooth. Even though, it did take 5 hours or so, haha.

5 hours? That thing is never consistent. Only took me 1 hour the one time I tested it and some people have experienced over 24 hours.

When I installed 7 on my dad's desktop it took hours, eventually I unplugged his external USB drive and it finished almost instantly
Windows setup always was kinda weird with usb drivers.
took me like 30 minutes when i upgraded from vista to 7, and only like 10-15 when doing a clean install
i love this operating system
Uh, over 24 hours? Who the hell would wait any longer than three before restarting the progress thinking that it stopped working?

The upgrade, unlike the clean install method, shows exactly what it's doing in the install window. So you'd know whether or not it stopped working or not.
Gah, I wouldn't have the patience. I'd leave it on overnight then wake up in the morning finding it only at like 30%, then I'd rage and reinstall XP. :downs:

Your loss.
I'm aware of that, hence the :downs:
But I did a clean install and it's working so blah.
