When I use big icons sometimes the glow gets stuck and annoys the crap out of me, resulting in me restarting explorer.
FUCK YEAH
I got W7 Ultimate for 8 bux :smug:
But it was a gift from my college age brother, so yeah.
Just got my TV tuner today, it really makes Windows Media Center useful and awesome.
How much does a TV tuner cost?
Aw man, I can't upgrade from XP to 7, I have to do a fresh install which means it will delete all my files, backing up some games I want to keep now, going to take ages :frown:

Just don't format during the install and everything will be moved to C:\windows.old in the new Windows 7 install.
Awesome, thanks mate, will do that, I owe ya one!

Apparently 7 converts PNGs to JPG when you set as wallpaper.
Possible partial solution:
Goddammit. That's one of the most annoying features of Vista and I was hoping they had changed it for seven.
XP had PNG wallpaper support - why the fuck did they remove it?
And even if they insist on not supporting PNG, why not convert them to BMP so at least they're still lossless!? But fucking JPG... that's a goddamn crime.

For the one I got it was $90, but it came with a remote and stuff. Some are like $20.

they COULD just change it to 100% quality jpg.
As I upgraded to Windows 7 today, Modern Warfare 2 fucked up, I cannot for my life see the text in the menus or anywhere else!

Probably because you're playing at 325 x 258
I'm not, forgot to mention that that's not my screenie. Can't take screenies of my CoD as it just turns up as a black box when I paste it in Paint, switched the ingame resolution to 1920x1080 (which is my normal screen resolution) and same thing.
don't feel liking making my own thread for this, but is should be possible to copy a windows 7 disk onto a flash drive correct?
I have 3gigs of ram (2x 1 gigs, 2x 512mb) and 2.9Ghz Athlon x2 64. Is running the 64bit of 7 recommended? or should i get more ram?
Go 64bit. Just to be future proof.

Yeah, I did it. You just need a special tool to make it bootable.
I recently got Windows 7 for xmas. Works great on my laptops, minus the fact there are no Windows 7 audio drivers on my older laptop. All I got to do now is copy over my steam games to my external hardrive and upgrade my desktop. Hopefully nothing will go wrong.

Since when was diskpart a special tool?
Prior to upgrading from windows xp 32 bit to windows 7 64 bit, I was able to join the same l4d2 server as my brother. We both are on the same network. Now that I have windows 7 64 bit and he still has windows xp 32 bit, I cannot connect to the same l4d2 server as my brother. I receive a message saying failed to connect after x ammount of tries when the lobby leader starts the game. If I join a game in progress, it gives my brother connection problems and lets me in. Vice versa aswell. We both have separate steam account and purchased l4d2 from steam. This issue is only with l4d2. We can join the same team fortress 2 server and other games. What should I do? I have tried running the left 4 dead 2 exe in administrative mode and in windows vista compatibility and still have this issue. Would changing network drivers or aquiring a new network interface card work? Or is there some windows 7 setting I need to change?

Try this, might work? I had similar problems in the original game, although why it should happen after upgrading to 7 I have no idea? Worth a shot anyway!
And now I've installed Windows 7 on my desktop. I don't know how I put up with Vista for the past 2 years.
It's the same goddamn thing. It's seriously not that big of a difference, people.
Goddamn it.
Quick question again
Does Windows 7 turn your computer off if you leave it on? Because I left my computer on overnight and I came back to it turned off and I'm confused. I turned it on though and it's like it was in a heavy sleep though, came right back to my desktop. But my mouse didn't work and I had to unplug and plug it back in to get it to work.

Sleep mode, you can change its setting by going Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options > Change when the computer sleeps.
Don't know why your mouse didn't work though.

Oh wow, thank you.

Because it wasn't that bad maybe?
I finally finished downloading Win 7, just got to go through the pain of finding every single thing on my drive that I want, which is hard as I didn't organize shit very well :v:

It didn't work. I have also tried disabling ipv6 with no luck

I'm only kind of guessing, but I think his mouse stopped working because of power saving settings for USB. I had close to the same issue with my monitor. After sleep mode it would just stay off till I powered it off then on again. It never happend with XP so I'm ruling out my monitor as having the problem.

I have a similar issue from time to time, when I wake from sleep the monitor doesn't come on, except in my case power cycling the monitor doesn't fix it. Luckily I can log in blind and that gets it working.
Is it still legal to download the RC? I seem to have lost my disc.
