Is it still legal to download the RC? I seem to have lost my disc.
nope
Goddammit. That's one of the most annoying features of Vista and I was hoping they had changed it for seven. XP had PNG wallpaper support - why the fuck did they remove it? And even if they insist on not supporting PNG, why not convert them to BMP so at least they're still lossless!? But fucking JPG... that's a goddamn crime.
They didn't remove it. I've used a .png wallpaper. Somewhere a few pages back I showed it off.
I have Vista, and I want to buy windows 7. If I buy the upgrade version, can I do a fresh install?
I have Vista, and I want to buy windows 7. If I buy the upgrade version, can I do a fresh install?
Yes.
I bought an upgrade version with XP and it let me do a clean install. [editline]05:50PM[/editline] ninja'd
Because it wasn't that bad maybe? I finally finished downloading Win 7, just got to go through the pain of finding every single thing on my drive that I want, which is hard as I didn't organize shit very well :v:
Yeah, its not that bad. Seven just feels a whole lot better to me, though.
I upgraded from Vista 64 Ultimate, to Win 7 64 Ultimate. I love Vista as much as I love 7, I just love the new taskbar since I usually have tons of pages and other things open.
I don't fancy going through 41pages, but back when i had vista i could move this (forgot name) up to the top and it would stay there, but with win7 when i move it up it goes back down again Also, I've got dual monitors, is there anyway i can stop (full screen) programs minimizing when i press on another monitor?
Could be something to do with the thing that 7 has where if you drag windows to the top, right and left it maximises them onto that area of the screen, fullscreen if at the top.
you can try to start the game with the -noborder parameter in the target area.
I do that with source games, but don't know if it's possible with eve.
Sorry to bump such a dead thread, but did MS just update the weather gadget? It nows shows me forecasted weather as well as current, which it never did before (yesterday)
No, you must've just hit the "Make me huge" button. In small mode it only shows current, but in big mode it shows the three day forecast.
Guys i have been having some lag/freezing in 7 Sometimes i get freezing and lag on desktop i have a dual core processor is that causing it? All my games are lagging some problems i didn't have in xp but xp is shit. Is it safe if it says in the bottom right corner Windows 7 Build 7600? shouldn't that be a higher number? please help! need more info ask me! I think i detected my problem?????? PLEASE HELP! http://filesmelt.com/dl/rtydfg1.jpg What does 1.00 gb useable mean? Does that mean I only got 1 gb of ram for my gaming? If so how do i fix this? I thought it was 2 gb of ram for windows 7 not 5 gb
First of all, learn how to type like a normal person. Second, the 1GB usable usually refers to two things: 1. How much is usable under a 32-bit system if you have 4 or more GB installed. 2. How much of your RAM is not allocated to video sharing. It's hard to say if it's 2 though, since I've never heard of 5GB being given to video sharing. Third, the build it's giving is correct, although it shouldn't be showing it on the desktop. If you're running Windows 7 in developer mode, I think it shows it.

As for the build number on the desktop, it's probably because he has a pirated copy and it's showing up as "This copy of windows is not genuine".
That would explain why he hid his desktop behind a Firefox window showing nothing but Google. Oh man, that would be a hilarious anti-piracy measure: Progressively limiting RAM available to programs. You know, as long as there weren't a whole lot of false positives.

It would explain the link to Demonoid in his bookmarks bar.
Oh, hey Jimmy, that Device Stage maker ever come to fruition or is it sitting on the shelf?
Is there absolutely any way to get rid of the super bar? That is the biggest turnoff I've seen with 7.
Is there absolutely any way to get rid of the super bar? That is the biggest turnoff I've seen with 7.
Set the shell to something other than explorer.exe
Is there absolutely any way to get rid of the super bar? That is the biggest turnoff I've seen with 7.
Right click -> Properties -> Tick "use small icons" and select "never combine" or "combine when the taskbar is full" in the dropbox which got the text "Taskbar buttons" next to it. I seriously get pissed when people don't even try to go into properties and experiment, and then call it shit.
Set the shell to something other than explorer.exe
I wasn't aware that was possible.
Right click -> Properties -> Tick "use small icons" and select "never combine" or "combine when the taskbar is full" in the dropbox which got the text "Taskbar buttons" next to it. Nor did I call it shit.
You like Fisher Price.msstyles?
fuck i know i do

I really don't see the point of those small icons, they're harder to click on and you have to peer at them to see which program it is. Of course there's the option to turn it off so I don't really mind it...
You like Fisher Price.msstyles?
If that's your way of demeaning someone else's aesthetic choices, then yeah. I fucking love 'em. http://lassekongo83.deviantart.com/art/SlanXP-2-0-51492944 XP was a lot easier to customize and I love it for it. Default styles are exactly as you said though.
I got a burning question about 7 64-bit. In XP Home I'm using the Windows 98 theme that comes with XP, because it was easy for me to navigate through. When I get Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, will there be themes like XP?
In XP Home I'm using the Windows 98 theme that comes with XP, because it was easy for me to navigate through.
You're a retard, it's not 'Windows 98', it's 'Windows Classic' (User was banned for this post ("Flaming" - Jaanus))
