I'm considering upgrading to 7, but I'm not sure about it'll run. These are my specs: Yes or no?
Easily.

Is it really so hard to go CHECK the minimum requirements yourself? It will run on 1/8th of those specs. Jesus.

Just as a reminder for those of you on the Windows 7 RC (Build 7100), on March 1st windows will shut down every 2 hours and then expire on June 1st. You really need you move to RTM if you haven't already. Seriously it's been 5 months.
Wouldn't you be having a problem with RAM at the moment? You're on a 32-bit OS and have 4.5GB RAM.
Whaddya mean?
32-bit OSes can only utilize 4GB of RAM. Windows however will only allocate ~ 3GB for the user to use. Thus you have 1.5 GB of wasted RAM on 32-bit.
Which reminds me, are 64-bit OS's still as stable as an elephant on a tightrope?
Even XP was fine on 64-bit if you had drivers installed. So no, they're better.
Which reminds me, are 64-bit OS's still as stable as an elephant on a tightrope?
I have used 64-bit Windows 7 since the RC, and now since it has been released the RTM version, and I have never had it crash. It is a great OS that is very, very stable. [editline]03:14PM[/editline]
He's talking about kernel space vs userland space.
Oh gotcha.
So, I just made the jump from XP to 7 and I have to say... it's quite different. Not sure if I like it but I'm stuck with it.
I personally don't see why people wouldn't like it, it's got nice new features. I guess I like change though, the same is boring for me.
Quick question, I'm going to purchase Windows 7 Home Premium in the next 2 - 3 months and I want to know if there's any significant difference in gameplay, specifically games like Left 4 Dead 2, Team Fortress 2, or Half-Life 2. For example, has there been any performance deficiency or even perhaps a boost? Loos/gain/sameness in FPS? I'm expecting lots of "it's the same" but I just want to make sure.

I can't really say for the others, because I didn't play them much when going between Vista and 7.

Oh what the fuck is this shit? Microsoft Sam wasn't included in 7? If I had known this, I would never have upgraded.
Oh what the fuck is this shit? Microsoft Sam wasn't included in 7? If I had known this, I would never have upgraded.
That is by far the most stupid reason not to upgrade I've ever heard in my life.
I would be using Windows 7 if my shitty network card was compatible with it.
