Mine is called FBI Surveillance Van #42 :smug:
I've got nothing in range.
You should use GPS so you can map them all out.
My SSID is BOFCO78. Shows up a bunch of times if you scan for it because we use signal boosters to reach the loft. Only encrypted with WEP right now, though I seem to remember there was a reason for this. Some old device didn't support WPA or something.
Near my school, there is 'Wifi For Your Face' I'm sort of intimidated by it.
At my old place there was a wifi "No internet" It wasn't passworded so I connected. Well it sure didn't have internet.
Did a wardrive to school today with the Android app. Pretty nifty KML export function. Green = Open Yellow = WEP Red = Closed 949 networks in total.
Ordered a piece of shit Chinese cloned wireless adapter from Dealextreme. It has a chipset that's just perfect. https://www.dealextreme.com/p/idu-2850ug-8g-802-11-b-g-high-power-wireless-usb-adapter-24128
Found 2 apps for android for wardriving. One is called Wardrive. It shows my position but not the networks around me(about 7). The other one is called G-Mon and shows the networks but doesn't seem to log them :( [editline]28th February 2011[/editline]
Did a wardrive to school today with the Android app. Pretty nifty KML export function. Oops, the wireless adapter I ordered is a a bit more powerful than what the European laws allow. A bit. I hope they don't open that fucking thing at the border. Probably not.
When I click the button to show wifis it only shows a black screen for me :(
I used Wardrive this morning. As for the issues you're having, I noticed it took quite a while to get going after starting the app and that it didn't display all of the networks. While I was standing right next to my router it didn't seem to be picking up anything, but when I exported the kml file my network was on there.
Maybe it's because I can't get a GPS position inside my room?
I have some SpeedTouch device that has no WiFi, but I have my Linksys WRT54GL connected to SpeedTouch to get WiFi. Probably Linksys would be better for WiFi.
Father sold the linksys one, goddamnit. I want an android phone too, so I can WarWalk.
To be honest I've been running our Wifi without any protection, in part due to an utter zero necessity for it. You really aren't too worried about folks jacking your net when you live on the edge of a medium sized village :P Calling it junknet and changed the default router password. About it really.
Oops, the wireless adapter I ordered is a a bit more powerful than what the European laws allow. A bit. I hope they don't open that fucking thing at the border. Though my FM Transmitter looks like a cheap MP3 players, so that's maybe why they didn't do shit about it.
I think there is a difference between using and owning. I also seem to have free full speed Internet in my living room. No magic needed. To bad I don't have a signal in my bedroom.
i shit you not my grandfather knew what wardriving was before i did
My hometown. The GPS is kind of off, I'm using the Galaxy S. I used the G-Mon app.
Haven't even left my village and already have like 300 of them :tinfoil: . Any windows programs that decently logs them for Windows 7(that work on all cards)?
Gahhh, no matter how much I try I can't get my Linksys WRT54GL to hard reset to the firmware screen. >:(

Winner rating for the ZaadLoos SSID at the end of the first list, which means SeedLess (SpermLess) :P Also why are you using WEP for your own network? :smithicide: [editline]1st March 2011[/editline] Also i'm gonna put my laptop in my backpack and wardrive (on my bike) through the neighbourhood, see what i find, Unless there's a app for S40 that supports external GPS devices (Nokia C3-00 has no GPS)

(There kid has one of those old DS version that only understands WEP) And at the rate that they use there connection it would take months to get enough packages to crack it (I had to cheat by downloading a 100MB test file). And it seems that its almost impossible to find a cheap GPS unit that works on a laptop ([del]all the programs I tried only support COM ports and not USB ones[/del] theres stuff to convert that).
Define cheap. http://www.dealextreme.com/p/usb-gps-tracker-stick-data-logger-dongle-29610 Only downside is that Dealextreme takes fucking ages to deliver anything. Took me 6 weeks during Christmas time (Hongkong's post office just died due to all the usage). Best I've gotten anything in was.. I think 2 weeks.
I will buy this one and hope it is worth the wait.
Haha, after all that it turns out my ISP only allow the routers they provide and some weird username and password stuff which I cannot access.
Haha, after all that it turns out my ISP only allow the routers they provide and some weird username and password stuff which I cannot access.
Disable wireless and firewall on that ISP provided router, and set a DMZ tunnel to your new router
No room to run two routers.
"+1 Internets" :regd09:
