I wish my GPS would work in conjunction with wifi sniffing software but Garmin Nuvi series aren't supported by anything. Got my second adapter in the laptop though, properly wiring the antennae meant literally stripping the entire thing apart.

Its called walking or driving around.
Its called walking or driving around.
Yes i know but the signal(s) can't reach the road... sometimes i would get the rare "Very Weak" signal but thats it.
When I moved into my old apartment in 2009, I saw 3 out of 9 access points were unsecured. I hacked my way into their routers with the default user/pass routines and changed all three of their SSIDs to say "HACKED BY 214", and turned on WPA2 TKIP+AES on all of them. The next couple of days, I saw them disappear one by one, and they were back at their default names again, but with WEP enabled. Hard lesson in teaching the neighbors security accomplished.
One family was sharing their entire family photo collection, and I could tell by who was in the photos that they lived direcly below me. So I copied all their photos to my harddrive and erased them from the shared folder on their PC. The next day, I burned their picture collection to a CD-R, and left it on their doorstep with a note saying:
"Dear neighbor. I took the liberty of securing your photo collection to this disc. Please secure your wireless connection, or this could have ended up in the wrong hands. Love, a concerned neighbor." with the :v: face drawn in Sharpie on the CD-R.
Nobody ever found out it was me, or came pounding on my door. :ghost:
one in range of me right now is called "( . )( . ) Boobies"

Most of the programs are designed to catch those to, I get around 5 here and Windows never displays anything.

That was extremely stupid and obnoxious of you.
I live on a 2 acre lot in the middle of BFE. Never had a reason to secure my network... and wardriving is impossible when all the houses are down a quarter-mile driveway.

It was extremely stupid of them to have their network unsecured and their family photos available to the whole neighborhood.
Haters gonna hate.

:frog:
That was seriously stupid and offensive of you either way.
A quick drive around my neighborhood:

Majority of them are those 2WIRE*** supplied by the ISP, all WEP secured. About 60% of the people I've done computer work for didn't even know they had WiFi.

Better than me. I share a network. "Hey, what's the router password?"
'You just need to upgrade your RAM. Port forwarding? whatsthat?'
Fast forward
"What's the router password?"
"Oh, we forgot it. Sorry."
And I can't just walk into their home and set up their internet for them (and reset it while I'm at it).
:/
initially i had our SSID set to "ball sack" but then my mom got a laptop so obviously i had to change the SSID name
