Alright, ill go for the inno3d card then, which i originally intended. will my xfx pro 450w psu be enough or should i get a 500w psu like the inno3d 970 recommends?(in which case are there any recommendations on what brand psu i should get?)
When it comes to PSUs, it's not so much which brand is the best, but more along the lines of "which one is the least likely to blow up in my case based on the technology they used to design it?". This list is a comprehensive guide on which PSUs are the best of the best on the market right now (click "see full content" on the first post to display everything). Try to buy something from either the Tier One or Tier Two Class A lists if you can find them for reasonable prices in your country.
Your 450w XFX Pro will power it with no problem. The 970's are very power efficient, and the XFX is a solid Seasonic model.
Alright, in case i start noticing any problems ill get a new psu, that list was very helpful lordgeorge. ive heard the gtx 960s are coming next week or in 2 weeks, i might wait up n see how they look like. Otherwise ill just get the inno3d's 970
OP, i'd just get hold of a gtx970, your current PSU although pushing it will be able to power it, and the 965 is still a good enough CPU. Sure it may hold the card back a little but it's not going to be noticeable.
