Use Gmail, it's on the internet, but theres this program [url]http://windows7center.com/news/windows-7-gmail-notifier-plus/[/url] Gmail Notifier Plus. I've been using it without a problem for a while, and it's great. Notifications right in the icon, hover over it to see your current inbox message, arrows to see other inbox messages, and click inbox to open gmail webpage. :)

It works fine with them now. No more messing with addons to get it to work properly, it receives all the settings it needs straight away during account set up.
Opera's built in mail client works really good if you're running opera for browsing, otherwise not much point.
