Give up if you can't wait till you get home you are a very sad person.
There is completely no point of bypassing this shit, thats why we have PERSONAL COMPUTERS
There is completely no point of bypassing this shit, thats why we have PERSONAL COMPUTERS
My school blocked Google Images and YouTube. While I agree they can be used to waste time (specially YouTube), blocked websites can be useful. Though OP probs only wants access to www.freeflashfunnygameslol.com or some shit
Why would you want to bypass a school block? It's there for a reason. Back to your studies!
I hate blocked sites. Websence keeps blocking sites I need, AND proxy sites!
god fucking damn't it's called iPrism not st bernard get it right [editline]10:53PM[/editline] Trust me unless you got some secret hidden new proxy site with custom coded software there's no getting around this.
In my school all network connections went through the schools proxy server. For a while you could use proxy sites to fool the filter, but I'm guessing you school could be using a similar system where all connections are routed through the proxy.
Not sure about your school, OP, but at my school they did application blocking through the school servers, but web restrictions went through the county servers. Not even the school admins could get by them, unless they tunneled through to their home computer which most of them did.
Trust me unless you got some secret hidden new proxy site with custom coded software there's no getting around this.
Huh, yes there is. Local ssh SOCKS proxy to a tunnel at your house, with Firefox setup to redirect DNS requests through the same tunnel.
I'm so cool that my college removed the network filters from my account. :smug: Redtube "is such a useful site for getting models for concept art" says my tutor.
You could setup a webserver on your home machine, install PHP and PHProxy. Run DynDNS. When that domain you made gets blocked, just make a new one.

At our school we can get past the web filter by using https. :downs:
At my school we don't have a web filter. :downs:
Me too, let's be best downs friends. :downs:
Theres away around it, but its called HACKING and trust me, you don't wanna be down that road. I tried that in high school.. I got fined like $ 3500 and kicked out of that school...and my parents almost shot me(lol) So really, the only way to get around this is to hack. But hacking school computers is the worst idea because if you get caught your fucked. And if your PC is the only one unblocked. You will be very suspicious(If you unblock it that is). Even if you did get passed it. Your teacher can probably still see wtf is going on. Schools now use come high tech security shit. Such as surflock(Blocks everything to do with XML, HTML, JAVA, ect.) If they block google pictures go talk to your principle. Google shouldn't be blocked because schools use it for research and such. Every school here uses google. But they can block you if your not using it right during class times. I have no idea how it works in the U.S. So...

Web filters that block HTML. Brilliant.
Because that's very effecient.

Google videos, anything to do with videos will be blocked. All they have to do is press a key and your cut off. Also doesn't help teh teachers can see what you are doing(known as a type of spyware that comes with surflock). But as far as I know not to many schools use surflock in the U.S.. Also, yes I am a hacker. But I only hack on occasions not just because I feel like it.

Get a Ubuntu live boot USB and use that. I actually bypassed the school's locked bios and filter that doesn't even let you on things as mundane and normal as yahoo answers and fully installed Ubuntu 8.10. It works great too.
lol ur a hacker
Yea I am, but whats it to you?
You want a proxy hack? I'm not sure how Facepunch would take me distributing one...
Yea I am, but whats it to you?
lol
Just use UltraSurf. http://www.ultrareach.com/
Most schools today use a server-side filtering system, meaning the indivdual computers connected to the network do not have filtering software installed on them, all the internet requests passed through the schools server is filtered. So basically, unless you hack the schools server, you will not be able to shutdown or change the filter systems settings. One thing you can try is entering the https:// prefix to a websites url, if the website uses SSL, you will be able to view it despite its content due to the fact that SSL encrypts the data being sent between the individual client and remote server. As for using a different browser, no matter what browser you use, they all use the same system for interacting with websites, HTTP. So to a computer, the output from those browsers looks pretty much the same. Some blocking software have a manual block setting, which means the schools admin enters a site manually that they don't want you going on (i.e youtube), which means the site is no longer examined by the content filter, the user is simply immedietly denied access the site. Some blocking systems do not implement DNS resolving automatically meaning that the blocked site will not be blocked if you use its IP. Heres a program that many schools use to block websites, Censornet (www.censornet.com), as its free, and is highly advanced. You can usually identify the filter system by analysing the html source of the 'block page' (eg. "STOP! This site has been blocked for <insert heinous act here> (look it up ;) some systems will include the name somewhere in the block pages source code. You could download a portable version of firefox bundled with Tor, which bounces internet requests over thousands of users worldwide, that should bypass the filter. Good luck! P.S
Yea I am, but whats it to you?
LOL, isn't it funny how naive people are of the true meaning of 'hacker'? If you enjoy setting up a HAM radio setup, you can be considered a hacker, someone who modifies their PC case is a hacker, Jesus is a hacker, etc, etc the list goes on. Wikipedia, on "Hacker (hobbyist)" (check if you don't believe me) In home computing, a hacker is a person who heavily modifies the software or hardware of their computer system. It includes building, rebuilding, modifying and creating software (software cracking, demo scene) and electronic hardware (hardware hacking, modding) either to make it better, faster, give added features or to make it do something it was never intended to do. Hobby hacking originated around the MITS Altair. See what I mean, for god's sake (Sake, as in the japanese beer :), my grandfather who was born before computers existed was a hacker, he modified radios as a hobby when he was growing up.
Plug a 3G modem in, use that?
