• Mintpass Cube MP3 Player Makes Analog Control Hip Again!

Yes that's right. An mp3 player being released with analog control in 2010. Crazy huh?! Not to Mintpass with their Cube mp3 player (probably) slated for a 2010 release. Some say that analog is whack, but Mintpass is bringing it back, and it is sexier than ever. Looks pretty interesting, I'd like to see if this picks up.
I wonder if it will have the extreme price for the "artistic" style, but the low price of analog parts. None the less it really smexy.
No screen. Better have huge Memory.
I can't see anyone wanting to carry that thing around in their pocket. Not the mention the reason why MP3 players don't use analogue buttons is because they get damaged much easier than a pressure sensitive pad. Cool concept but not a practical design, carrying a cube around in your pocket isn't exactly comfortable.
Small, sexy, and interesting. Sounds expensive.
That's awesome~! But it'd be cooler if the volume was controlled with an analog knob thingy, if that's possible. But miniature and small and cool and awesome and stuff. Edit:
It would be cool until you bump into someone and get permanent ear damage.
I'll be impressed when MP3/MP4 players come with interchangable 2.5" SSDs, hot-swappable of course, with both USB and eSATA ports for music management.

There TOO SMALL. He's just GOT to have his 18000 tracks. Which ironically, at 4 minutes a track, means 50 constant 24 hour periods of listening. Wait, what is wrong with memory cards again?
2 weeks late funcoot.

That's not going to fit comfortable in anyone's pocket; and falling on it would hurt pretty bad.
Oh cool a square MP3 player that will fit in my pocket nicely.
It would be cool until you bump into someone and get permanent ear damage.
But the lock thing would stop the knob from working until you unlock it. Also, volume limiter.
I don't think it was meant for practicality. I think it's more of a design thing. Not everything we use in everyday life is practical.
Those buttons look insanely easy to wrench off by catching it on a table or something
I'm sure they'd make them removable. But why would it get caught on a table in the first place?
Only thing i like about it, is the bitchin' VU/battery/MHz meters. But the square shape, and those buttons are gonna make it a flop.
This is slightly better looking than the car that is also known as, "The Cube"
I'll buy two and tie them around my neck with a string and make myself look real pimp. :smug: bling bling
I'd like to see a rounder version [pocket friendly], otherwise I am digging the analogue.
Looks like the kinda thing you'll have hooked up to a sound system.
That big cube sure is gonna be comfortable in my pocket! Oh wait, it's not. Nice shitty designers you got there.
What's wrong with memory cards?
Storage capacities are limited.

Also all I can think about is carrying that thing on a holster and looking like an idiot. But they make backpacks for a reason.
Storage capacities are limited.
If you can fill that, you're either a audiophile, or a file pirate. Go buy a Ipod classic then.

I've seen a regulare SD card at the size of 256GB Speaking of SD cards, I'd actually love to see a MP3/MP4 player, that could read SD cards, perhaps with a file browser aswell.
There are a few MP3 players that can read SD card, my old one back from 2006 had these.
It's a concept, since they already have an MP3 Player (the Mintpad) I don't see why they'd pursue this.
