Is it a 4770, or 4770k?
Non K version. Tell me I didn't fuck up there For the record, not looking to OC
If you aren't planning to over clock a Z97 may seem worth the investment. It isn't. Get a H97 and save yourself some dosh.
Yes do this.
Yes do this.
Forgive me if I'm wrong guys, but in the UK amazon/ebuyer and such they all seem to be the same price, are they the same performance wise? If the BIOS OC is simple on the z97 boards then I'd maybe overclock some time, just not much. I know it's limited on the 4770 to a maximum of 3.8GHz. I'm going to be fitting a hyper 212 evo cooler on there, which I bought ready incase I ever decided to. I'm just worried that I might accidentally limit myself if I ever wanted to OC in the future. It's just that for the forseeable time I'd like to run stock settings. Is the z97 an all around good board?

Also this is definitely cheaper.

Not a manual overclock. [editline]17th February 2015[/editline]
You can go further then 3.8. Using a method called BLCK over clocking. But it does require pumping the voltage. [editline]18th February 2015[/editline] To go further that is.
But BLCK overclocking on a haswell is stupid.
Ah sounds easier that way :) Thanks for your help guys, hopefully I'll be able to save a cheeky bit more on the H97. any particular manufacturer?
I recommend the H97 board I linked in my previous post.
I recommend the H97 board I linked in my previous post.
Ahh, thank you! Sorry I'm tired and didn't notice :) For the record I'm not ordering things while falling asleep, don't worry. Placing demands on Flubit and adding to the shopping basket as a way of kinda saving them :P
[editline]23rd February 2015[/editline] Don't know why the mobo shows as socket 0
New laptop [editline]23rd February 2015[/editline] the cpu goes up to 3.1 GHz
Here's my baby. Need a new monitor though. Looking for quality 1080 ones that won't break the bank.

You should probably look into a better heatsink.
You should probably look into a better heatsink.
Stock one that comes with the CPU, I have a new CPU and motherboard though, I have yet to install them however.
Stock one that comes with the CPU, I have a new CPU and motherboard though, I have yet to install them however.
I'm just going to say this, even with the stock heatsink, it should never even approach 80C, let alone almost 100C. Methinking its not installed completely.
Stock one that comes with the CPU, I have a new CPU and motherboard though, I have yet to install them however.
I had issues with intel's stock cooler pins being shit and snapping off/not going in properly. My core2quad went up to 140 degrees C before I replaced the cooler. It's likely thermal paste contact isn't good enough, not enough pressure on the CPU itself from the cooler. Getting a cooler that actually screws on/attaches withought the shitty plastic clips is a great investment, have put two such coolers on and it goes right back down to 40 degrees That being said intel CPUs are incredibly heat resistant but I wouldn't bet on long-term lifetime :v:

Picked up a second GPU and swapped my Mobo out recently [img_thumb]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/44896033/spec3.png[/img_thumb]
New and improved :) Got the upgrades finally :D

I hate this graphics card. Idk why but it has issues running AAA-games at 1080p with 60fps. Maybe I'm just incredibly picky. Or maybe it's my CPU.. Anyone help? Dying light I don't go above 45fps. Arma 3 is just really bad. Maybe the games I play are just unoptimized. It doesn't help when I come across people on forums using a HD 7850 claiming they get 60 FPS in Dying Light and Crysis 3. Not sure if troll or just dumb.
View distance in dying light? And yeah there are been issues with people running Arma 3 on a FX processor and I still know people who can't run Arma 3 well on a FX processor.
I turn that shit down to minimum lol
GPU is R9 270X
