Got any pics of that machine? [editline]6th July 2013[/editline] Have you got the card with the Titan cooler or EVGA, because my Speccy doesn't say MSI?
I got the evga one with acx cooler. Worth the extra cash imo.
I got the evga one with acx cooler. Worth the extra cash imo.
Ah ok, I was just asking because speccy is reporting my 780 as Nvidia when it's MSI, I assumed it's because it's got a reference cooler on it. Love the look of the reference, but I've discovered it doesn't do a great job at cooling, same with my Quadro 4000. Reference coolers seem to suck makes me wonder how GTX690 users get by.
The CPU is idle. I should get an aftermarket cooler.
The CPU is idle. I should get an aftermarket cooler.
Don't feel bad. This is idle for me. [editline]6th July 2013[/editline] My GPU is at ~53.
I thought a 700GB hard drive would be enough for games but I was wrong. I plan on getting another hard drive sometime.
That damn optical drive was $60 when I bought it.
Just upgraded yesterday. Still waiting for my Ram to arrive
I don't think I've seen anyone with an i3 yet. It seems to run fine to me.
Apparently I have a thing for asus...
Check the fans aren't covered in dust.
Yea I cleaned the whole inside out with compressed air. I checked the temps after I cleaned it out, the GPU appeared to run about 10C cooler, although it didn't seem to have that much dust in it. I'm about to check the temps again, which is about a week after I cleaned it out. [editline]7th July 2013[/editline] Yeah, idling my PC runs about 35C average, but my GPU is chilling at 58C. Just seems really unusual. Maybe some of my case fans aren't blowing correctly. Perhaps my bottom fan is facing the wrong direction... I'll check it tomorrow.
You're also running a Fermi card, which are notorious for running hot; For example my GTX 480 idles anywhere from 61°c - 90°c depending on the temperature of the room and or load it's under.
True, I just find it odd that it runs at such a different temp from the rest of my PC. I figured it's probably either just the way it runs, or possibly the cooling system starting to fail on it, since it's a couple years old, but it hasn't been making any unusual noises, so it's likely just the temp it idles at. [editline]8th July 2013[/editline] Now that I think about it, it's probably nothing to do with case fans since the rest of my components are at good temps.
You do realize that idle means not under load.
I know what idle means, I was just throwing that in there.
Why did you get a scsi controller? [editline]5th July 2013[/editline] Not at that Res.
2x 1440x900? Probably quite the load for my 6670. My GPU cannot even handle Metro 2033 with Eyefinity activated and all the settings low. Eitherway I will keep two monitors permanently. As I ordered some VESA brackets for them already.
Oh shit I forgot to close out of RIFT. Now I'm back to 38 degrees celsius on my 680GTX. Thermaltake Level 10 GT Intel 4770K @ 3.5ghz with stock heatsink
It's still capable of most tasks and I thought to sit on it for 1-2 years more, but decided to go for 4th generation Intel soon and at least DirectX 11
Building a new PC for the first time was quite frightening experience, but seems I managed to do it without any major mistakes, so happy god damn. I'll swap GTX 260 for 670 later. (leaving default power for now)
Building a new PC soon.
I think you could squeeze a another year or two out of that 1060T.
I need to start a ChipIn to raise the £620 I need for my new rig. :v: [sub][sub]Also FYI my father paid about £2k for this brand new back in 06/07, mourn our loss[/sub][/sub]
:suicide:
Your hard-drive runs too hot. This can cause read/write errors and file corruption.
Your hard-drive runs too hot. This can cause read/write errors and file corruption.
dont blame me blame apple and their stupid cooling design for the imac
They stopped shoving in desktop-profile graphics cards into that chassis soon after that, thank god. Cook-era hardware engineering has had a slightly-lower predilection for little moments of farce like that - IIRC, they began playing ATi and Nvidia off each other after that point.
