Quick question. Is it possible to get a image if i connect a DVI-D (Dual Link) monitor to GeForce GTX760 or even to the motherboard? I am kinda new into these DVI stuff.
Quick question. Is it possible to get a image if i connect a DVI-D (Dual Link) monitor to GeForce GTX760 or even to the motherboard? I am kinda new into these DVI stuff.
It depends on what the monitor needs (but most likely yes). DVI essentially has two "modes" - digital mode, and analog mode. Digital mode also has two speeds - single-link, and dual-link. For a given setup to work, both the output device (mobo/video card), cable and monitor need to support whichever mode is being used. The speed of the digital connection only matters if you're running a particularly high resolution - my 2560x1440 monitor cannot run at full resolution on a single-link connection, but it will at least run (at 1920x1080, I think). DVI-D has only the digital mode (DVI-A has only analog, and DVI-I has both). This is by far the most common - DVI-A is signal-compatible with VGA, and mainly exists so passive adapters can convert DVI to VGA. Likewise, most monitors that accept DVI do so in digital mode. Some will accept either, but by my count it's about one in four that does that. Now, there are differences among GTX 760s, but it looks like in general the bottom DVI port is DVI-I, and the top is DVI-D (this actually is fairly common among video cards - my Radeon 6870 does likewise; probably something about having only one analog converter on-board). You can easily distinguish them visually - a DVI-I or DVI-A port has holes shaped like a plus with four dots, where a DVI-D port has only a dash-shaped hole. This applies to the cables as well - you will see correspondingly-shaped pins. So will that work? Most likely, yes, but we can't say for sure unless you tell us exactly which video card and monitor you're using.

Any ideas?
Tape is finicky. It's more fragile than an HDD, and handles humidity and heat worse. But just as importantly, tape has NO random-access capability. Hard drives run fastest when running sequentially, but tape drives *have* to. So you make a backup and save it onto tape. If you need to view or update any of those files, you have to read or write the entire tape, which can take quite some time. With an external HDD, you can treat it just like you would an internal HDD.
Hello! I'm working on an interactive art project and was wondering if someone could help me. The project includes audio-activated visualizers in processing. I don't need help with processing, but I need help connecting multiple TV's to my laptop. I'll start by explaining the project. I have just finished designing several visualizers in processing, all of which react to sound that is captured by my laptops microphone. I'm going to combine these visualizers into two processing files. Every 20 seconds a different visualizer within the file will be played. Basically, I will have two processing windows that will play a series of visualizers. Each visualizer will react with my laptops microphone. I'm not having technical difficulty with processing, but I am having technical difficulties with my set-up. I'm hoping that I can hook up two old TV monitors to my laptop in order to display the project. Both TV's have RCA inputs. My laptop has one VGA, one HDMI, and several USB outputs. I know I can use a VGA to RCA converter box to display one processing window on a TV monitor. However, If I wanted to run a second TV from my laptop with a different processing window on it, what would my options be?

Everything else will require a digital->analog conversion, which means an active adapter. I can't find anything that looks like it will actually work for going straight from HDMI or USB to RCA. Even HDMI->VGA seems suspect - a lot are passive adapters, relying on the output device to magically realize it's there and route a VGA signal over it (in a non-standard way). I would only trust those for the specific device they were designed for. I think your best bet is to get a USB -> VGA adapter, which looks like it'll run about thirty bucks, then plug that into another VGA->RCA converter. Note that VGA does NOT carry an audio signal, so if you need to get sound coming from these TVs, you'll need additional cables and converters.
Wandering how to properly compress/convert the output from Dxtory? Specifically the Lagarith Lossless Codec. Doesn't have to be the best quality or resolution. I have Vdub but I think I'm doing something wrong.

Yeah it seems stupidly expensive. Do you think buying USB to VGA and VGA to RCA converters is my best option? would I need a stupidly powerful graphics card?
Yeah it seems stupidly expensive. Gaming is unlikely, any 3D stuff would be potentially problematic depending on just how demanding it is, but 2D stuff, or software rendering of any sort, should be fine. And I'm pretty sure that would be true regardless of how you're getting these video outputs.
Can anyone recommend a good, fairly cheap webcam? Mine is prehistoric and thus incredibly shitty. I only really use it, usually on Skype, on rare occasions with a few friends, so I don't exactly want to fork out a ton of dough.

Update its firmware (there's a DL on the driver site) to fix the auto focus problems. The cord is really really short, so buy a USB extention. Also the clip doesn't open that far, if you have a thicker monitor you might have a problem with that, I personally use it on a mic stand.
Running driver sweeper for the first time ever I see nvidia chipset drivers on my machine. I have never installed any nvidia drivers on this machina as the gpu is an amd one. Is this normal? Did it just come with my motherboard? Should I remove them? In a program for my motherboard I also see there is an intel inf update. Should I install this?

Is there a way I can check how much GPU they take up?

In like 2 months I will upgrade to a AMD A10-6800K, I already have a MSI FM2-A85XA-G43 motherboard which supports Windows 8. Should I stick with Windows 8 or just keep using Windows 7?
If you're okay with it, I say just stick with it. If not, then go back to Windows 7. It's all personal preference.
Whats a good, affordable GPU to accompany AMD Phenom II x4 955BE (no OC)? I dont feel like putting in a lot of money but i want something better than my HD 5770 which is starting to struggle on new games.
a 7770.
Okay I am unsure if "Bottlenecking" even exists from GPU to CPU but: I have a 2500k overclocked to 4.0 Ghz, I plan on getting a 770 or 780 in the future (Either EVGA or Zotac). Will my CPU bottleneck my GPU? I never understood bottlenecking. How can that happen since all the operations go through a separate processor (The gpu)

Will my CPU bottleneck my GPU? I never understood bottlenecking. How can that happen since all the operations go through a separate processor (The gpu)
There is always dependency. A GPU, alone, cannot function - it needs a CPU telling it to do something before it does anything. Modern GPUs are powerful enough that a weak enough CPU won't be able to tell it to do things fast enough. Imagine one manager commanding hundreds of people - most of them are going to be sitting around waiting for orders. Or imagine a powerful racecar with shitty wheels - you rev the engine and, for lack of traction, your wheels just spin in place instead of launching you forward. That's all a bottleneck is - there is *always* some component in your system that is the slowest, and everything else is waiting some amount of time for it to catch up. This is really only a bad thing if you're wasting *significant* amounts of money or power on a powerful component, when it will operate as slowly as a much cheaper or lighter one due to bottlenecking. We do see some idiots buy, say, a Titan, and then wonder why they can't max out Crysis on their old Athlon X2. Bottlenecks, of some sort, are inevitable. You cannot design a system that operates every component at exactly 100% capacity. But if things are roughly in balance, it doesn't matter - a bottleneck that holds you back by 0.5% is a bottleneck in name only. And bottlenecks are not just CPU/GPU bottlenecks - you can have RAM, or hard drives, or even your network, being the critical part holding you back. Even within a single part, you can have bottlenecked components - most video cards, for instance, are bottlenecked by memory bandwidth rather than by shader throughput. At some point it just doesn't matter. You get 95%, 99% of what you're "supposed" to get, or you decide to get a GPU slightly faster than your CPU can handle just so you don't have to upgrade your GPU again when you buy a new processor. In any case, to answer your actual question, a 2500K should handle a single 780 just fine. It's mainly when you get SLI/CrossFire setups that you need a particularly potent GPU. I'm basing this off Anandtech's 2013 Gaming CPU Guide, which does not have the 780 itself, but you can see the 2500K acquit itself quite well under more stressful scenarios, like dual 7970s or dual 580s.
My mom needs a new phone and I found quite a few good Ice Cream Sandwich Cubot (basically unbranded) phones. I have heard that the imei can get banned on an unbranded phone making everyone banned using that same phone. Is this possible? What are the risks appart from poor quality?
I can't say I've ever heard of anyone getting their knockoff phones banned... But I'll leave it to the other people here that know more than I do.
Please someone help me out here. I'm watching Netflix through Hola! Unblocker with an US proxy and for some reason, today, the Post-Play function is no longer working. After an episode ends it just bring up this: Up Next: [next episode info] It was working flawlessly 10 hours ago. Wtf happened? [editline]26th October 2013[/editline] I think i fixed it. I disabled Hola! Unblocker and installed another extension: Media Hint. I guess that the proxy Hola! was using was going through a device which does not support Post-Play / Autoplay. I presume.
