Is it a good idea to disable IIS?
Could anyone recommend me a good monitor? I searched through the thread a bit but couldn't find anything meeting my requirements.
Requirements:
23 or 24 inch
60hz or higher.
At least one HDMI and one DVI input.
LED is preferred.
Preferably no built-in speakers (not a must, but I feel it's unnecessary if I can avoid it).
Price:
As I plan on buying two, not over $395/€286/2500sek
They are to be used when gaming.
Anyone know where I can get a Poker II in the UK?
That or the Noppoo Choc Mini instead, both look like nice keyboards.

I'm assuming you're referring to a home computer, so yes
Is it normal that when I check Resource Monitor, I have around 250 TCP Connections?

it's a little high, but not that abnormal

Yeah, was thinking why it was higher than I normally checked it at. I just found out that chrome and spotify were taking up about 2/3 of the connections, heh
spotify uses P2P to stream music to other people, I highly recommend finding an alternative like Grooveshark

Ah, alright.
Also, I've been looking around on how to set up an L2TP VPN, but all the tutorials I found are how to connect to them. Anyone know how to set up an L2TP VPN on windows 7, or if that is even possible?

I disagree on your choice of alternative. But you're correct regarding the p2p thing, which is kind of a buzzkill especially considering all their commercials.

ATH-m50's and a blue snowball
if you desperately need a mic that sits by your mouth, then modmic it is. i would reccomend a table mic though, you can do more with it if you need to

i just want to talk to people on teamspeak
you can do that just as well if not better with a decent table mic. so i would still advise it

think of it this way: it's one less cable hanging off of your head
what would you guys say would be the best Windows 8 tablet for under 500 right now? i'm planning on getting one for christmas but i have no clue what to get.
Windows 8 Tablets are a weird thing. You can go with something that runs RT, but those don't have the same functionality as a Pro tablet... Which may as well just be a laptop.
The Surfaces are good, though.

Couple questions that I'm finding a lot of mixed answers for on the internet:
What's the best rechargeable AA/AAA battery for use in really low-drain situations? I have a couple of those little sticky LED night lights under cabinets and whatnot and it seems wasteful to swap out new batteries every couple months.
Also, LED bulbs. Are they ok to use in an enclosed lighting fixture (will the heat wreck them), and in a ceiling fan (will the vibration wreck them)?
For all three of these questions I'm finding every possible answer

We've been using little LED bulbs in our partially-enclosed ceiling fans for a while now, and we have LED spotlights recessed in the kitchen. Haven't burnt a single one yet. I'd say you're fine.

I have to disagree, not saying that Grooveshark is perfect but its certainly better than paying Spotifies 5er a month. Then again, this all depends on how much you're into your music. I guess if you are, Grooveshark might not suit although I have never had any issues with finding anything. In actual fact, theres nothing so far I havent been able to find on Grooveshark which is pretty neat.
I... Uh... Listen to the radio.

is there even one radio station in your area with good taste or is it the commercialized shovelware the record companies are pushing on everyone
We've got the university radio stations. One's a jazz/classical/NPR station, the other's indie rock and songs that don't hit the other stations for two or three months.
And since I spend a lot of time downtown at the university... It works. Of course, I'm biased in that I work for the web news portal for the rock station.
I've been wanting to join the university radio team.
I had a choice between that, the website, the newspaper, and our television station.
I chose the website... For some reason.

There's also Slacker, which works really well and I can actually get it in Canada. The radio without ads and the ability to cache stations locally is $3/month, the service where you can actually play individual songs is like $10, though apparently they have one of the best selections. The also have a nifty slogan: "Slacker, it's made of people".
The only shitty thing is that the Android app doesn't support AVRCP 1.3 to display song information on my car stereo.
I currently have this simple hotspot software running on my laptop which works fine, but for a while i want to see if its somehow possible to have something like DD-WRT installed so its more or less like a router. Or at least a hotspot program that is more detailed. But DD-WRT would be perfect to have.
