Hi guys, I have a Intel i3 3,06ghz 1156 socket along with some random motherboard and a 500w power supply. I'd love to get some recommendations for a new mid to high range cpu and just any cheap new motherboard will do. I'm playing planetside 2 and skyrim and the performance is ok but not as good as I'd like it to be, I got a oc'd Gtx 570 and 8 gigs of ram so I'm pretty sure the processor is the bottleneck atm. thanks in advance.
Looking for a new keyboard good for gaming as well as typing. Mechanic would be nice. Do you guys recommend anything good? Been looking at this.

This 1 Tb hard drive is $60 with a promo code on Newegg. Is that a good deal? Should I get it? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=22-236-339
ok i don't get it. I have a hard drive that can't be accessed because windows says i need to format it before i can use it. So to back the information up, i copied the partition to another hard drive that was empty and unallocated and now i've got two drives that won't let me access them unless i format them. Someone give me a clue on what i'm doing wrong?
Thinking of getting a low profile cuda-card to help out my 680's in 3d rendering, is this good, or are there better options for low profile craphics cards? http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125468 I'm well aware it won't help my speed a tonne but for under 100 bucks a 10-15% increase in render times is worthwhile enough, may as well make use of that last PCI slot.

The 4670K rig i built the other week wasn't seeing one of the 1TB drives cause it didn't have a letter.
Did you make sure they both have Drive letters assigned? The HDD's do not have any free \ used indicator bar underneath them.
Ok so I desperately need a new Graphics card, a friend suggested going over to amd but I'm not too sure any suggestions?
Was thinking of getting another monitor, this sale only lasts until sometime today. Worth it? :v:

What is EVGA's reputation when it comes to NVIDIA cards? Been planning on getting the EVGA GTX 770 SC, but I've never owned a EVGA card before (or know anyone who has for that matter). And I thought I'd ask here if there's something bad/good about the brand.

But I know that has been revised. I was going to contact them for it (which I did and went fine), but I didn't really want to get rid of it for a while, so I decided not to in the end.
Is there a way I can limit speed on my router? I have a ASUS RT-AC66U, and the QOS doesn't work very well.
Does anyone know how to emulate (sorry if that's not the right term) mac os9 on windows 7?
Does anybody know what kind of stuff I'd get if I wanted to reduce the background noise coming through my microphone?
Does anybody know what kind of stuff I'd get if I wanted to reduce the background noise coming through my microphone?
You could reduce the microphone volume, or move anything noisy away from the mic.
Recommend me a good wired mouse for under $50? Mine kinda broke right now Edit: I'm thinking logitech g400s
Recommend me a good wired mouse for under $50? Mine kinda broke right now Edit: I'm thinking logitech g400s
g400/g400s is a safe bet.
Is there a way I can limit speed on my router? I have a ASUS RT-AC66U, and the QOS doesn't work very well.
I have an asus router and the QOS is crap really. You can limit the total up/download speed which affects all users but I don't know why you'd want to do that.

My total bandwidth is 1.25mbps, and I want to limit everyone else to ~1.00mbps so I can play cs:go without lagging.

There is no way to limit individual download and upload speeds for different users. I tried making source games have high priority and everything else low but if someone else in your house is downloading stuff or watching movies then it still lags. I think it only affects packets being uploaded so you're still gimped when playing games unfortunately.
I got myself a Blu-Ray drive for my computer because all the TVs in my house are old CRTs and my monitor is rather nice. Only problem is, I have no program for playing the movies. I can't figure out how to set up VLC for playing Blu-Ray, any help? Or is there a better alternative?
The drive may have came with power dvd/nero or similar. Mine did.
I drive may have came with power dvd/nero or similar. Mine did.
No, it was just a bare OEM drive, no software or anything.

I have the 64-bit version of 2.1.1 currently if that might be messing with stuff.
Have you considered ripping the .mkv with Handbrake or something? Blu-Ray licensing sucks. It's why most blu-rays are shipped with digital codes these days. Sony has that stuff on lockdown, and they hold the $50 keys needed to play it.

Failing that, I'd try the 32-bit version. You shouldn't really need 64-bit for a media player, anyways.
