So, I'm building a comp for my friend, and I was wondering what are the best parts I can get for $350. Bonus points if most/all the parts are available at microcenter. [editline]22nd November 2013[/editline] Heres what I have so far, and its pretty much the same build that TekSyndicate did, but its 71 dollars more.. huh... So I installed Linux on my USB drive and when I boot it up I get this: SYSLINUX 4.06 EDD 2012-10-23 Copyright (C) 1994-2012 H. Peter Anvin et al No DEFAULT or UI configuration directive found! boot: What should I do?

What's everyone using for a media player? (for Windows) I've been using Winamp, but apparently it's going away next month. I'm not a fan of WMP/iTunes.
i used to have a 500 watt power supply for a q6600 cpu and gtx 260 that ran perfectly fine. im now upgrading to a i5 4670k and the same old gtx 260. Will the same 500 watt power still run the new build?
I've got a 520w running a 2500k and 560Ti. Runs fine.
I'm using Windows 8 with Windows Defender because all the other AV programs I've used kept on flagging false positives. One problem I have though is that Defender sometimes doesn't start when I turn my laptop on so I have no virus protection until I notice, which usually isn't for a while. Any idea why this might be?
Why are there no good youtube downloaders? I had some media downloader thing for firefox years ago, and I used that. But I cannot find any good youtube downloaders. Since google likes to take down a fuck load of music before checking who owns it and not reupping it.
YouTube central. Great plugin, has a downloader built in.
You did it wrong. What distro did you download?
Pen Drive Linux

Can anyone confirm if this is crypolocker? [t]http://puu.sh/5qA85.png[/t] There are encrypted DLL files inside the RSA folder.

Stupid question but I have bought an ultrabook with switchable graphics. How do I see whether it enables the stronger gfx card in games or not?
I'm not sure if this qeustion should go here, apologies if it doesn't. I have a home computer, and an account for any school computer. I use my email on both of them. At my home pc, one of my most recent searches is: 'How many words is a page?' A few days ago, at school, I was on my account, and my classmate typed 'ho', and the first result that came up was 'How many words is a page?' How is this possible?
Well is it google mail?
Well is it google mail?
It is, but I hadn't logged in ont it on either my own computer, or school computer that day.

Dudes I've been putting off replacing my G5 for a looooooooong time now, and the time is coming to give the poor thing some rest. Help me choose a new mouse, I'm not looking for a gaming mouse necessarily, but since I study graphic design I still need one that's as comfortable as possible while having an accurate sensor and a decent amount of hotkeys (eg. at least as many as a G5), so it's practically the same market I'm looking at. Budget is pretty much around 100€, wireless not necessary, but would be a plus. I'm very careful with my mice and tablet pens and shit (dropped my mouse twice in five years, and I travel a lot), so it doesn't have to be built like a tank -Tried a Razer Mamba, fantastic comfort and I found it to be more precise than my G5, but Razer is too unreliable for me to risk buying such an expensive mouse -Tried a RAT 9, it's incredibly strange looking (in other words butt fuck ugly) but I also found it to be amazingly comfortable while uncofigured, so that's a plus. The series itself is also reportedly more reliable than razer. -I like Logitech, but the G5/400/MX518 style shape is just not that comfy to me, my pinky and ring finger start to hurt after prolonged use, anyone know of their other mice? I know that their shit just doesn't break, I've had my G5 for around five years now and it's still kicking strong despite seeing some shit. [editline]23rd November 2013[/editline] oh and thaaaaaanks <3
You know, I've got a $100 gift card for Best Buy. I might buy a new mouse...
I'm starting to get sick of having to use Outlook the whole time, is there any mail application that allows me to quickly switch between two Hotmail accounts? (I use a personal email address and my ''business'' email) Thanks in advance.
Seems like an extremely generic search query which would be very commonly used in a school, so it gets high priority.
Can't be it either, my google searches at home are English, at school they are always Dutch, this time they were english.
this is weird so if you remember i was asking about why my screenshots always seemed darker after i took them, well i just realized that they only look darker in windows photo viewer, while viewing them from paint or gimp, they look normal [t]http://puu.sh/5r9AO.jpg[/t] [t]http://puu.sh/5r9Dk.jpg[/t] is this normal? is there a way to fix it? if it not is there a good alternative to windows photo viewer?

Is there any reason I should know about why a stick of ram is faulty and creates BSODs after a few minutes on one computer (and shows errors in windows memory diagnostic & memtest86+, bad bits) but works fine with no errors on a different computer? I've tried multiple slots, definitely the stick. The original image file isn't being assigned with sRGB (or any color profile at all) when it's saved, yet it's saved (but not assigned) to the sRGB (most likely) color profile. Windows photo viewer is showing the incorrect profile, paint/gimp are most likely showing them as if they're sRGB. Open them in gimp/PS, assigned to sRGB and save. If they're not sRGB, then just convert them, making sure the "absolute colorimetric" box is checked or the colors will shift if the original profile isn't sRGB.
This glitch shit. This has always happened to me, not just on Youtube, but everywhere I go. Does this happen to anyone else? How do I fix it?
http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Wireless-Gaming-Mouse-Battery/dp/B00E4MQODC I 100% recommend. It's both Wired and Wireless. Huge 1300 Hour in endurance, many buttons comforable. or for a cheaper version get a G300 like I have. Ambidextrous.
Oh man, I've heard so many good things about the G602. I have to admit that if it weren't for that fact that it has too many buttons, I would buy it. It's so fucking ugly though, oh god, but I would still take it. I tried the G300, It's nice and I don't mind that it's ambidextrous at all, I've never accidentally clicked the buttons on the right of any ambidex mouse in my life. It's pretty nice, but the reason I'm replacing the G5 is because my pinky and ring finger wrap inwards on the right side and it gets uncomfortable after a while, on the G300 it's even worse. I ended up looking for an MX518/G400/G5 styled mouse that doesn't have that issue, and you mentioning ambidextrous reminded me of Steelseries' Sensei. It looks perfect, so I might get that. It's pretty much the same mouse as the Xai, except they added mainstream market shit to it such as LED customization aaaaaaaand I'm ok with that
Bought the g400s. It's all good except for the mouse wheel, sometimes it scrolls before the actual wheel "step", I also find that scrolling is harder than on my last mouse, maybe those are related.
