In my search for a good gaming computer, I have found this one that I really like.

It seems pretty promising. Would like to know if it is wise purchase before hand though.

iBuyPower blows, you can have better for $650.

Could I have some recommendations on what would be good? If it's not to much trouble.

Build one, it's not hard and there are tons of resources to help.
If you absolutely have to have a prebuilt for some arbitrary reason then you're kinda SOL as far as bang for buck goes but i can look around
This one still has a lame AMD CPU but the GPU is a rebadged 7770 and is more powerful than the 650, also it's ASUS.
If you can afford to spend more now and get a $60 rebate, this one is a nice DIY combo, you still have to build it, but everything is picked for you and will work. Have to get windows as well though, or resuse an old key. It's $650 after rebate and much more powerful GPU wise w/ a marginally better CPU.
This DIY combo is $591, has 4GB RAM but is otherwise more powerful than either of the prebuilts. You could get an extra 4GB stick for like $25-30
I'm thinking of getting true 7.1 headphones to replace my expiring simulated 5.1 headphones, I have the Asus P8Z77-V PRO Mobo, will the onboard audio be good enough or should I get a 7.1 card? I can't seem to find out what bloody onboard audio I have
[del]Also I might as well ask, anyone have any opinions on the Razer Tiamat?[/del]
I'll ask the headphones megathread :v:
Looking for an external harddrive for storing Komplete 9 (360 gigs) and other music related projects.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822236569
Been looking at this one. Is this a good buy?
Also, what's the difference between Desktop harddrives and portable ones?

Usually data speeds and price. You can get a 3.5" 7200rpm drive for cheaper than a 2.5" 7200rpm drive, but it's not going to be very easy to take it to starbucks/class/work compared to a portable hard drive.
I'm afraid I may have fucked up my laptop. I was doing a BIOS update through the Samsung updater, and after it restarted it got stuck on a black screen for 30 mins , and then decided to power off. Now whenever I reboot it it gets stuck on the black screen, and all I can see if my cursor, and maybe the occasional flash of part of the login screen.
I can access the BIOS from a cold boot, but I'm not really sure what to do from there. Running Windows 8.1 btw, any help vastly appreciated

What's something that's very good speed like fire wire or something that has high storage as well for a good price?
[editline]13th December 2013[/editline]
I'm actually not too big on the portable thing but I know nothing on hard drives

Firewire is dead for external hard drives. You'll want USB3.0 if you have compatibility for it. Best price for 2TB appears to be this seagate http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822178116, but I have no idea how reliable it is (reviews seem to indicate it is decently reliable)
I bought a Toshiba Canvio 1TB (portable hdd) a week ago and I'm getting 100MB/s writes on it, so I'm very happy
Okay cool, I'll see if I can find reviews on that one.
[editline]13th December 2013[/editline]
I might actually get the 3TB since it's on sale.
Anybody know what brand/model tablet is the most durable? My grandma insists on getting one for my niece (she's Three and has a habit of dropping things a lot), and they want to settle on an ipad, which seems like an inevitable
disaster.

A three year old doesn't need a tablet.

I told them the same thing, but my grandma swears that the educational games on the app store will be good for her and is going to buy her something.

We'll look into these, thanks. I guess they're wanting ipads since other family members have them and they can see them hands on. If best buy has the nabis, we might be able to see a floor model or something.
How do I set up no-ip to send traffic to a port other than 80? My server is running on a different port and at the moment if I type in whatever.no-ip.com it sends the traffic to port 80.
[editline]15th December 2013[/editline]
or a better way to put it, how can I have my server as example.whatever.com because at the moment it is example.whatever.com:port
Ooooo.
Found an old screenshot of my SSD on SSDlife. Decided to check on it today, see the difference...

So getting kind of tired of my desktop being cluttered, even though I find it really convenient. I know there are docks and shit but those tend to only allow a certain amount of icons. So I need something I can hide icons in.
Basically something like this:

Is there anyway to pin a .bat file to the taskbar/put it on a hotkey so it doesnt have to be on my desktop so when I need to run it I just hit that hotkey and it launches it from some folder?

Yes, one way is converting it to a .exe the others are a bit trickier, but I know one involves putting cmd.exe in there and then adding a attribute for it to start your script instead.
(I have one in my taskbar, it's converted to exe using bat2exe though)
Well that kind of worked. It missed a line in the .bat though that is vital to it running so it doesn't really work :v:
I'm searching for a quick and easy way to check the temperature of my geforce gtx 760.
There are like 1000 tools and most of them seem to focus on altering the function of the card under certain circumstances.
All I want is to check the temperature :(
Any advice?

Something like HWMonitor will tell you the temps of all of your PC components.
My friend ordered an iPhone 4 case and got this:

What is it? I can't identify what it is. I've never owned a phone so I can't really make a call on it.

Some kind of accessory mod thing for iPhones...
Before I send off my monitor to be replaced under warranty, could someone please explain what's happening here https://vine.co/v/hUE37Ei6xEt
This happens every time I switch the monitor on or change the screen resolution, it clears up after a minute or so. The same lines still appear after unplugging the video cable.

Looks to me like a cable inside the monitor is bad, or perhaps a defective controller, assuming you've ruled out that it's the video card.

It's nothing to do with the video card as it still happens with only the power cable plugged in. I'd go with your first suggestion though, probably a cable inside the monitor.
Does anyone have any suggestions for a new mouse? Was using a Logitech Click until the cable became loose, so now using a ball mouse! I do some gaming, mainly TF2, so it doesn't need to be intensive, but preferably sub £40. I've been looking at the Sensei Raw, but frankly, I don't really know what I'm looking for.
Any ideas?

Also, I would prefer it to be wired.

There's a feature in Fences that lets you double click your wallpaper to toggle icons on/off.
