Well, this seems as good a place as any to ask: So my work station has a sort of space-y theme, and I want to get a space-themed screensaver. Where can I get legit screensavers (e.g. none of that stuff with crapware built in?)
So I am trying to get an article off a site that doesn't exist anymore. Google totally has the site stored in plaintext for the site's description but the cache'd copy just 404's. Is there any way I can get just the (full) description of the site from Google through an API or something? I assume they have a plaintext version seeing as other sites will do this.
Would running 2 SLI'd GeForce GT 750M cards in a laptop be, like, safe? I don't know how much noise/heat that'd produce but I hear it's a lot. Anyone have actual experience with SLI cards in laptops? The performance I'd get from this option is far superior to any other laptop I could find in the same price range, but I'm worried the annoyances/hazards that come with it may not be worth it.
Should I wait until DDR4 memory is readily available to build a PC or would I just be wasting my time and go with 3?
There's usually a few issues here and there when they first introduce a new type of RAM and the performance isn't significantly better until it's been around for a year and a half.
Does anyone have a link to a driver which automatically sets up any plugged in ps3 controller to run as a 360 controller? I recall seeing someone post it on this forum but I can't find it anywhere. It's not motionjoy, I'm seeking an alternative to that.
Hey guys, I'm getting a 120GB Samsung SSD (840 EVO) tomorrow and was just wondering about using Windows 8 with one. I heard that you shouldn't use the fast boot feature because it can deteriorate the lifespan of the SSD by quite a lot. Is this true or are the two fine to use together?
I've tried setting up crossfire between my 7970 ghz and a new 280x but I'm having shit luck. Both cards are fine, both PCI-E lanes work. My power supply should be beefy enough for this set up (http://www.scan.co.uk/products/850w-silverstone-strider-plus-modular-88-eff-80-plus-silver-sli-crossfire-eps-12v-quiet-fan-atx-v23-). However when both cards are powered and connected I get a bsod whenever I try to open a 3d app or game. Tried uninstalling all AMD drivers and also using Display Driver Uninstaller to totally remove any leftover files before doing a clean install and there was no change. I'm going to try disabling ULPS and see if that makes a difference. Is there anything else I can rule out? Edit: disabled ULPS, got a 3d stress test to run on one GPU but the moment I try and use crossfire at all it goes to a bsod again.

So I have a Radeon 5770 and a GTX 650, and they are pretty much the same. I was wondering if I can run dual gpu with them, or do they have to be the same brand? Or I guess i can just sell them together and buy a better one..
You can't mix AMD and nvidia cards.
You can, they just can't be used simultaneously for the same thing (games) unless its ray-tracing.

I have a quick question about routing sound. Is there away to route sound with the windows mixer, my wife watches netflix on our tv and I normally send the sound there via HDMI. I would like to have what ever I am playing on my computer to go to its speaker and netflix to the tv. Any suggestion?

Does this mean I'm running my SSD through a SATA3 port or that I'm not? Also will RAPID mode on my SSD improve boot time on windows? Using a 128gb Samsung 840 pro ssd.
Does this mean I'm running my SSD through a SATA3 port or that I'm not? Also will RAPID mode on my SSD improve boot time on windows? Using a 128gb Samsung 840 pro ssd.
It means its not connected to a SATA 3 port. Internet says no improvement in boot time:
RAPID mode was not designed to improve boot performance. In fact, RAPID mode does not go into effect until the system is quiescent (about 60 seconds). This is because the system and/or user may try to launch some applications at boot up so the system may already be under stress, so we intentionally delay RAPID activity to avoid interference with the user’s boot sequence. I have 2x1080p and 1x1280x1024 on my computer. The ancient 1280x1024 has been flickering black for weeks. Today, I find that it turns on, but immediately and permanently goes black after two seconds. Anyone know if there's an easy fix? Or is it a loss?
So I have this old iMac G5 that I want to sell to someone. I think it's running Tiger. Is there any way to reformat it or bring it to factory settings without an installation disc? It doesn't support booting from a USB and I tried using a cd but it ran the installation and then nothing happened.
It means its not connected to a SATA 3 port.
Sorry but how do I see which port is a SATA 3 port? They all look the same to me. On a ASUS P8Z68-V Pro motherboard (LGA 1155)

The ones labeled "SATA6G", for SATA 6gbps, which is the speed of SATA 3. The light blue ones are SATA_3G, the speed of SATA 2.

I have a simple question about hard drives If I take a new blank HDD, hook it up and use it as a storage disc, can I then painlessly swap it between computers if I wanted? (just reconnecting power&SATA)

Does anyone know how to export the setting in ShareX?
Does anyone know how to export the setting in ShareX?
Looks like it stores its settings in a user-definable folder. I assume just as long as you keep that folder, you can install ShareX to a different computer, and just copy over the same folder.

And im using sata 6gb cables that came with the mobo.
Any mechanical keyboard suggestions? Or at least a brand or Red MX vs Brown MX switches?
My roommate can get this laptop for 2k AUD http://h20386.www2.hp.com/AustraliaStore/Product.aspx?pdetail=P305392 Worth it? It's for University and some low-mid tier gaming He's pretty happy with it's Specsheet and Leap Motion control ability
If that's low tier to you, I want your paycheck.
