How would one go about moving (not copying) data from one user profile to another on Windows?
Probably the same way you'd do it by copying, except, well, moving them? You'll probably want to keep the folder structure so cut and paste what's inside the folders rather than the folders themselves
So been talking with a friend tonight and talking about computers and shit. She is saying to me that her computer cuts out once in while. Now to me it seems like the PSU is either faulty or cannot supply enough power but one thing that makes me doubt it is the fact she once was working inside it and she says that she may of given the board an electromagnetic discharge. Now am right in thinking that a electromagnetic discharge would of killed the whole motherboard?
does a 1080p signal look like shit on a 2560 x 1440 monitor? im thinking about getting a new monitor for my PC but i will be using my playstation 4 on it too Edit: Does a 1080p signal on a 2560x1440 monitor look worse than a 1080p signal on a 1920x1080 monitor?
does a 1080p signal look like shit on a 2560 x 1440 monitor? im thinking about getting a new monitor for my PC but i will be using my playstation 4 on it too
It only looks like shit in comparison to a 1440p signal - there's a few games that don't offer 1440p modes, and they look noticeably *worse* than 1440p games, but no different than when they're running on my 1080p laptop screen, as long as it isn't supposed to have solid pixel boundaries.
Is the NuForce UDAC-2 any good? I'm getting one for free for helping someone build a computer and was wondering if it would be worth keeping or trading in for something else.

Test it for yourself and decide
Well I'm not a big audio person so I wanted experience from someone who knew about DAC's.
That error have nothing to do with the disk. How are you reading the drive in the first place? You mentioned IDE, do you have an seperate working computer where you are reading the disk with some IDE>USB adapter?
Yes, I bought a new hard drive and installed a clean copy of my OS, tried running it that way hooked up to the MBP through the IDE/USB cable, had an external hooked up as well incase it worked, but so far nothing.
Currently running a 560ti and want to upgrade, budget is £200 probably max. 8gb RAM and i5 so no issues there. Any recommendations?
Currently running a 560ti and want to upgrade, budget is £200 probably max. 8gb RAM and i5 so no issues there. Any recommendations?
What kind of i5?
What kind of i5?
2500k 3.3Ghz
2500k 3.3Ghz
You could sell the 560ti and get a nicer card with the money that's left. You can get a 280x or a 770 for about £240 in some places.
Currently running a 560ti and want to upgrade, budget is £200 probably max. 8gb RAM and i5 so no issues there. Any recommendations?
I would say get a GTX 760 which was what I got for a similar amount of money in October, but I don't know if its still value for money at that price nowadays.
What kind of router can you guys recommend? Which manufacturer should I avoid?
What kind of router can you guys recommend? Which manufacturer should I avoid?
NETGEAR Nighthawk, or the newer ASUS that competes with it.
NETGEAR Nighthawk, or the newer ASUS that competes with it.
Holy mother. Do I really need so expensive router? I mean, how really does it differ from a version $100 cheaper?
Holy mother. Do I really need so expensive router? I mean, how really does it differ from a version $100 cheaper?
No, you do not need such an expensive router. The only thing you usually get with those expensive routers are a bunch of more settings which you never toggle. And if you want those, its better just to flash DD-WRT/OpenWRT eitherway. Just keep away from the cheap TP-Link and such routers. The cheap Netgear ones are pretty bad too after my experience. The midrange ones from Linksys and Netgear are usually good though, but of those two I would recommend Linksys. I never had any problem with any Linksys routers, and they often have really good unoffical support aswell if you need that.
Anybody else having crashes with 335.23? I was going to try to reinstall the drivers with a clean install, but they crashed on me as I tried to reinstall them.
Anybody else having crashes with 335.23? I was going to try to reinstall the drivers with a clean install, but they crashed on me as I tried to reinstall them.
I've had no issues with my 760 on 335.23, no crashes or anything. I think it's probably a bad install.

QoS, UDP, bandwidth dedication assignments for multiplayer gaming, big bandwidth support and upscaled 802.11n frequencies.... the list goes on. If you play games online, these are the types of routers you want, they're worth the money.
I've got a couple general questions since I've fallen out of the cutting edge tech loop and I'm too lazy to sift through google. I currently run an i7 960. What kind of real-life performance increase (for games mostly) would I see if upgrading to Ivy Bridge or summat? Someone point me to the best (one that won't shit out in a year) SSD in the ~100-150$ price range. I also run 295s. They're pretty crazy fast considering how old they are, but I do want to go DX11. I'm currently scopin up some GTX 770. Could someone with a 770 tell me how they perform in Arma 3/BF4? Do I have to run Windows 8 for hardware tessellation? Lastly. How do you chaps feel on the market? Is it a good time to be upgrading or is there a slew of new shit due out soon? Should I wait on Ivy Bridge? Wait on the 7 series?
what's the best bang for my buck mouse wise? i've been using a logitech G500 but i spilled water on it and now the RMB is unresponsive [editline]20th March 2014[/editline] oh and the reason i'm not just getting another G500 is because newegg is out of stock

It kicks dicks and I think is still around a hundred bux? Can't beat that for a comfortable/customizable high-res mouse that will last years. [editline]20th March 2014[/editline] That's a lie I've hat a Rat and a Roccat Kone before. They were both cool in their own ways but inferior to the G9 imo.

Bandwidth dedication is QoS, and most routers support the same bandwidth standards. If you play online and lag is that an issue for you that you cannot use an regular router to do it, then you should play over cable. Also, you get more settings with DD-WRT/OpenWRT anyway if that is something he needs, and he could still save a lot of money.
I've had no issues with my 760 on 335.23, no crashes or anything. [editline]21st March 2014[/editline] Nevermind, I was prompted to install Windows updates, and I booted through my 570 upon restarting. [editline]21st March 2014[/editline] Looks like it recovered an earlier state or something
I'm building a computer and wonder about what SSD setup is preferred of the following; 1) 2x 120gb (840 EVO) one for windows and programs and the other for games. or 2) 1x 250gb (840 EVO) So which option is best, one larger or two smaller? Sure, two smaller ssd gets a little more expensive but the price is not a problem. I thought that maybe it would be easier (as in easier to manage where to install stuff and such) and "safer" to take two. Might add that I've already got 2tb for storage and such.

How about two 128gb 840 PROs? are they any good? I really want two.. for reasons. I've never had any SSDs before so I'm lost here.
How about two 128gb 840 PROs? are they any good? I really want two.. for reasons. Note that you wont actually have 128gb available because of over-provisioning. [editline]edit[/editline] Why do you want two disks anyway, I don't see a benefit.
