Is there any web browsers that work properly? Chrome preference file keeps deleting it self, so it resets all my settings for it. Firefox has video problems like a random stutter or they will just randomly lock up cause of shockwave crashing. I'll be using IE at this rate.
Your Chrome preference file shouldn't be deleting itself, have you checked for viruses, checked browser extensions etc?
You could try Opera but I haven't used it in years :v: IE doesn't seem to be too shabby these days anyway

Im in uni and hardly use my 1 year old gaming PC anymore since getting a laptop.
What is the best way / Where is the best place to sell it?

Gumtree if you're willing to barter a bit.
Gumtree if you're willing to barter a bit.
Just put it up on there before this post, Just wondered if there was anywhere else but ive sold things on there before, Just hate how unreliable people from gumtree can be.
So I'm looking for a laptop to use the upcoming four years for my studies. As I have never bought one myself, are there any manufacturers or, even better, models, that any of you would recommend?
The minimum specifications are:
Windows 7 64-bit
RAM: 8 GB
HDD: 500 GB
Intel Core 2 Quad Processor 2.4GHz or better
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 or better
Wireless: 802.11n
DVD drive
People still have DVD drives?
Well, manufacturers I would avoid are HP and Dell, as for the rest I don't really know ones that stand out. Interesting how you say Windows 7 is a "minimum specification" rather than a requirement, technically would that mean you would be willing for Windows 8? You can always just install Windows 7 over it anyway. Actually do they still even sell laptops with anything older than Windows 7 on them?

I've never used Windows 8, but I'd be fine with trying it out.
Apart from the start menu, the desktop side is pretty much identical, and it's a bit faster than Windows 7. A lot of important options can be gotten by right clicking where the start menu used to be, you'll be fine

How much / what is in it? I've been looking for a new pc but I don't have a huge budget.
Reapplying thermal compound to my graphics processor was all for naught. I've sent an email to Sparkle support to try and salvage this investment.
Does anyone here use Lastpass? can it be trusted?
Does anyone here use Lastpass? can it be trusted?
They don't release source code, and even if they did, no guarantee the servers are running the same code they release. I wouldn't trust it.

i hear they are trustworthy but i am not going to use it, thanks anyway.
Anyone here have experience with RAM RMA's? I came across a stick of corsair XMS3 that's dead, but still in physically good shape. All I have is the RAM. Any chance at me being able to RMA it?

Just use a password which is 8 or more characters, has a capital letter and a number. It should work with any website and is also secure. You can test how secure it is here https://howsecureismypassword.net/
I recently upgraded my processor to an i5 4670, but I'm still using my good old Radeon HD 5870 1GB which I want to upgrade next. Is it a good idea to upgrade right now or are there any new GPU generations or price drops coming up?
If now is the right time, which graphics card should I upgrade to? At the moment the GTX 760 is looking like the best choice. It's cheap and powerful and has all the awesome Nvidia exclusive shit I've been missing out on for the last few years. I don't really have a specific budget, but I want the best price/performance ratio. The GTX 780 for instance costs 3 times as much but isn't even close to being 3x as awesome. The R9 270 also seems to be in the same price and performance segment, but I haven't done a lot of research on it yet.

You should easily be able to file an RMA request via the support website.

Cool. A 4gig stick of ddr3 is easily worth the postage.

I wouldn't take 500, hold out for a better offer
I downloaded daemon tools from cnet and after it finished I noticed some other installers running in my task manager processes tab, and then three other programs were suddenly installed. One was called "Live support", the other was "Optimizer Pro" and the third was like "V-something" (Dont remember the name of the last one.) so I removed them and restarted my PC. Upon starting it up, I noticed that installers started running again in the background (They're not visible, only in task manager processes), so I quickly ended them in my task manager, then did a system restore to a day earlier, when the problem did not exist. When my PC started back up, the installers were still going in the background. I keep ending them before they can stay there for long as I'm afraid what they might be doing.
I tried to scan with Malwarebytes but it didn't detect anything.
Are there any better anti virus/malware programs that would be free,
or some process I can go about to get rid of this shit
Try Revo Uninstaller, you can get it on Ninite.com
Also this is a really useful tool, I highly recommend it
Is there anyway to check how much life my SSD has left? I only had mines for a few weeks and theres already 1 on Wear Leveling Count.
Is it pretty much almost dead when the raw number is around 80?
Well I'm not exactly sure what wear levelling is, but there are other things there that would have to become bad in order for it to really die, I wouldn't worry about it
Just backup things. If it dies then it dies.
Guys, I recently bought a 250GB SSD. I've got two 1TB hard-drives, with Vista 64-bit installed.
I want to put the SSD into my PC, uninstall Vista and install Windows 7 64-bit. How would I go about doing this without losing files / deleting my user accounts / settings / whatever.
Basically I want to install my new SSD and just put Windows 7 on it, and have that replace the Windows Vista on my shitty 1TB hard-drive.
[editline]12th April 2014[/editline]
Also, could someone tell me (or better yet, link me on Amazon) which screws I need to mount the SSD? I don't know the exact size or specification, and the hardware store had about 4 different screws that looked about the right size, but I didn't want to risk it.
