I'm waiting for the 800-series cards before I upgrade. I'll probably end up getting the 770-tier equivalent. We're just too far along in the 700-series for it to be worthwhile.
I don't know if I want to wait until the 800 series to upgrade or stick with my 760.
The 800 series desktop models have most likely been delayed to 2015 just so you know

That being said, I'm still waiting for the 8 series to come out to decide what to do. If the decreased power allows for insane OC potential, I'll pick up a 880. If not, I'm grabbing another 680 for dirt cheap.

I'm too broke to afford a new GPU right now anyway.
So yesterday I was just playing csgo and a huge grey static-colored line appeared in the middle of the screen.
I panicked and restarted my pc and today when playing it happened again. Restarting the pc fixed it as well
What could it be? My gpu and monitor are practically new, only ~4 months old so I need a good way to check which one of them is defective.

Got a TV? Haul the PC in there and plug it in. If you get the same line, it's the GPU.
Have you checked temps?
Anyone know anything about ipod repairs? I have a lot of scratches on my old 2 nd gen and wanted to replace the glass cover. Is that the digitizer? I'm pretty certain that thing you found is a very cheap knockoff, considering the price.
When buying replacement digitizers you have to be really careful. Those cheaper digitizer could be dead out of the box, or just plain fucked up.
Where am i supposed to look?
In my case I've looked up on ebay and found like half my phone for 45 dollars, which is legit. (Bought hardware still works fine after a month of installing it)
What do you guys think of using a GPU cooler on a CPU for slim cases? I'm playing around with the idea of throwing my old twinfrzr III cooler on a core2quad. I figure if it can handle far more wattage than your average CPU dishes out, it should be able to do well. The only issue I can think of is RAM, but a shim and low profile RAM should take care of that.
nigh impossible due to ram height and chipset heatsinks
Yeah. The more I play with it I see there's no way to have a thick enough shim and it still be effective. Oh well.
I'm cleaning my case out tonight to install a new heatsink, while I'm there should I replace the thermal paste on my GPU? It seems pretty simple, undo screws on the bottom, remove heatsink, clean off paste, ally new paste, right?

Is it running hot?
What's a good program to record screen captured videos?
I know I've asked this once before, but that post has since been lost to the ages.

I usually replace the GPU paste as often as the CPU. It's essentially the same process
I'm thinking about making a fully submerged mineral oil pc for the novelty, (I like making weird things a such) can anyone suggest a good rad and pump that would keep some of the oil moving? I will also have fans submerged to help the flow. Oh and it will be a 6 gallon tank if that helps any.

Just so you know, finding mineral oil in large enough quantities to fill a tank is a bitch. Online will be your best bet.

Yeah I know, I did however luck out and find some in 2, 4, and 6 gallons so I will probably just buy 3 2 gallon jugs so it's easier to fill.
would I just be able to use a regular pump that you would use in a normal watercooling set up? Or no? I'm not sure considering the mineral oil is thicker and harder to pump than just regular water and such.

Most watercooling pumps will also work with mineral oil.
Bethbryo games (Skyrim, Fallout NV) crash at the opening logos, but other games work fine. I've ruled out mods (across multiple games, one of which worked fine without me touching it before) and hardware (CS:GO works fine), so the problem is somewhere in my OS.
What gives?

Make sure graphics drivers are up to date, make sure you have the c++ redist and try running directx web setup
So my laptop has been louder than usual... I've noticed weird activity like SearchFilterHost.exe and SearchProtocol.exe running in the background often and it drains my battery despite it being idle. What the hell is it doing and why is it doing that?
It's indexing files for searching. Disable the Windows Search Service. Press winkey + R and type services.msc. Find Windows Search and disable it, also right click on it and go on properties to disable it from startup
Can you guys tell me which of these laptops is the best? I'm looking for a work computer with light gaming (think Sims 3).

I'm on a budget so I'd like to stay under $400. Thanks a bunch!
Does anyone know how to remove annotations on YouTube embeds? (&iv_load_policy=3 DOES NOT WORK)

Any that you'd recommend?

Any of the d5's with a decent top should be good. It'll have enough power to push the thicker liquid. Not sure how to optimally set up for a tank setting though.
[editline]31st May 2014[/editline]
Actually probably the d5 vario over the pwm so you can manually set the flow rate
