You must have just posted that as I edited. I found that, and honestly it looks hideous to me. The yellow doesn't match anything, and the massive M brandings are also hard to ignore.
I also found a Gigabyte Gaming G1 Black Edition that has water hookups, but that also doesn't look as good as the Maximus does (honestly, if it weren't for it being Asus, I wouldn't even be bothering asking). Normally I'm nowhere near this picky, but if I'm going to be spending over three grand on a computer, I want it to look classy.
I'm not going to be buying this for a while anyways, I'm just trying to get a feel for what's out there.
Are you just doing it for aesthetics?
I like the look of this one; http://www.ebuyer.com/393375-acer-g246hlbbid-24-led-lcd-hdmi-monitor-um-fg6ee-b01
Don't know if you, or anyone else, has any experience with Acer monitors?
steer clear of acer monitors
cheapest of the cheap
for a 24" monitor i would spend a little more. you'll get a lot more out of it than with one of those cheap 24" monitors

What would you recommend then? One hopefully within a reasonable price range, I don't want a 120hz monitor, I don't want one that does 4k bullshit, I just want a 24" monitor, at a reasonable price, but also performs well, and looks good in use.
I wish I could find an edge-to-edge glass monitor that's decent... Seems like only Dell's making them, and they're not even IPS panels.

you could always try out 21:9 :)
unless you mean you want a completely flush surface with no protruding bezels
in which case, dell totally does do those in IPS. i own one
Is there actually any noticable difference between 5ms and 2ms response times?
Is there actually any noticable difference between 5ms and 2ms response times?
In fast paced games yes
Is there actually any noticable difference between 5ms and 2ms response times?
no. nothing really perceptible to most humans. on top of the response times you have other elements that count in to total input delay so it's not like those 3ms make much difference
i didn't notice anything going from my CRT to an 8ms dell u2913wm.
In fast paced games yes
There is no way to say for sure, you're absolutely wrong to say there is a definite difference. There's little correlation between the response time and the input lag on a monitor, and those 3ms make no difference when the pixels only need to transition every 16.67ms on a 60Hz monitor. Plus there's no way to tell what that GtG response time means for BtB. It's as meaningless of a metric on its own as the claims of a 200000000000000000:1 dynamic contrast ratio.
What do people think about BenQ as a monitor brand?
What do people think about BenQ as a monitor brand?
They make some okay VA panels which have legitimate 8bit color depth and compete with eIPS and TN for pricing but any of their TNs are as terrible as every other TN so overall I wouldn't bother with them.
good tool to check if an SSD is dead? mine doesn't boot anymore so I'm worried that it died

Oh, really? Mind dropping a link?
What do people think about BenQ as a monitor brand?
I'm no expert by any means, but for what it's worth, I recently bought a BenQ XL2411Z and I have no real complaints about it.

21:9 is fantastic. Would highly recommend

as far as high grade IPS monitors go, this is probably about as close to a fully glass front you're going to get. the bezel is tiny irl

yes, it's just great for productivity and movies without the black bars. most games support the aspect too

Ah, that's a bit out of my budget right now. I'm still unemployed, so I'm really running on fumes at the moment. Maybe later this year.
Does anyone know a good gaming keyboard with custom macro keys and a red backlight? I've been looking into naga razer keyboards, but they have no red ones.
Logitech G series gaming keyboards, or Corsair K series
Looking for a new graphics card around $400, i'm leaning towards the 780 atm though not sure how the new radeon gfx cards run

The r9 290 is a hair better and is cheaper

Thanks! I found a decent looking one. :)
I'm thinking about buying a PowerMac G5 case when I rebuild my PC later this year. Anybody have any experience doing an ATX conversion in one of those?
I can buy a PowerMac G5 case for $50 on eBay any day of the week, and it's a deal better designed than most of the stuff you can find for twice that. Also, I'm a sucker for things machined out of aluminum.
Hey guys, I could use a hand.
I'm trying to do a format and reinstall windows 8 fresh on my computer.
I found my product key, used the app that microsoft has on their site, and I got an error message saying "This product key can not be used to activate a retail copy of Windows 8", what should I do? What can I do? I don't have the CD anymore as it got lost in the last move, so I'm struggling to figure out how to start again when I'm not sure it'll let me use my key again. My windows account is legit and what not, I bought an OEM copy of it, so I'm not sure if that has any relevance to this.
My graphics card and CPU are exceeding temperatures that I'm comfortable with. Both idle at around 50c and my graphics card regularly reaches 95c during load. No dust, just Las Vegas weather.
Ambient temperature is usually 27c.
I'm buying four fans. What's the best fan configuration for my case?

Boxes in red are possible fan placements, green is the graphics card.
1 intake at the front, 2 outtake at the top and an intake on the sidepanel

Windows 8 did the same thing for me. I downgraded to Windows 7, and now my internet's buttery smooth.
I think Microsoft screwed something up in the networking stack in Windows 8. For the first few months, my wireless card was dropping out every five minutes. In Windows 7, it worked fine. I eventually swapped it for an Airport Express set to extend via ethernet, but I still had drops when the network was under load. I couldn't game on it, and Super Street Fighter 4 dropped every game.
Now that I'm back on Windows 7, I haven't had any of those issues, and I've played Super Street Fighter 4 every night since.
If downgrading's an option, it's worth a shot.

it probably gets to a point where it decides to load the next chunk of x seconds of video, finishes and waits until the next point to download the next chunk rather than doing it all at once

I got the same patterns in games, streaming music, even Plex. I really doubt all of those buffer in quite the same way.
