most streaming media will do a similar thing, there's no reason for it to constantly download as quickly as possible
Hey guys, I could use a hand. I'm trying to do a format and reinstall windows 8 fresh on my computer. I found my product key, used the app that microsoft has on their site, and I got an error message saying "This product key can not be used to activate a retail copy of Windows 8", what should I do? What can I do? I don't have the CD anymore as it got lost in the last move, so I'm struggling to figure out how to start again when I'm not sure it'll let me use my key again. My windows account is legit and what not, I bought an OEM copy of it, so I'm not sure if that has any relevance to this.
Try this.
The r9 290 is a hair better and is cheaper
I don't mind dropping a little more, would the 290 or 290x be a better purchase and how about overclockability(If thats a word)
so my friend sent me a link for a game, i downloaded it expecting him to know what he's linking me, turns out it's a pile of adware/malware that i just downloaded, I tried malwarebytes anti-malware but it just doesn't seem like it got rid of all of it. [editline]17th June 2014[/editline] what else is there?
I don't mind dropping a little more, would the 290 or 290x be a better purchase and how about overclockability(If thats a word)
the 290 runs considerably hotter than the 780, but you can possibly much a little more out of it if you get a good card. it's rated to run up to 95c by AMD, so it's up to you if you want to deal with the heat

No heat problems like at launch
can anyone link me/tell me how to make windows 8 be more like windows 7? i already googled and all i can find is third party stuff, i faintly remember people mentioning official ways on how to do so
Start8 does a pretty good job at bringing back the Windows 7 feel, but it isn't put out there by Microsoft. If you're looking for a more official approach, you could wait for the upcoming Windows 8 update that brings back our old friend.

what?
what?
Y'know, why not short out the GPU right now and get it over with?
humorus i resorted to bending the clip inwards so it wasn't so close to it
anyone know how much data a day of normal internet usage is (listening to music on the internet, browsing youtube and facepunch)?
1. How can I backup my entire PC? 2. How do I transfer everything from my current PC to a newer one? Thank you. These are very basic questions but I feel that Google is less helpful than you guys IMO. (When it comes to these type of questions)
anyone know how much data a day of normal internet usage is (listening to music on the internet, browsing youtube and facepunch)?
Really depends. I facepunch and internet a lot. Chrome uses 150-400mb a day alone. Factor in everything else and I'm probably sitting around 500-700mb a day average.
Hey guys, what's your opinions on the best wifi cards for good prices? I'm gonna move out of my old room to the room without the modem and I wanted to get one.
Assuming you just have a single band N router, the ASUS PCIE15 is good, as is a tri antenna tplink
I personally use the PCIE15 on my LAN PC. It works pretty good, though, mine gets really wacky signal issues if the case is between the antennas and the router. To be fair, that's not really unexpected though.
anyone know how much data a day of normal internet usage is (listening to music on the internet, browsing youtube and facepunch)?
you could right click your network in the task bar and click status, it will tell you total received/sent bytes since you connected to it.
Anybody?
If I were you I would make a note of all the programs you like, download all the newest installers for them and put those + music/photos/projects/personal stuff on a USB device. Plug it into the new PC and install your stuff again. If you're starting fresh I wouldn't copy + paste anything apart from steam games as the steam backup function is bad.

That'd be easy, right? (I want to transfer my steam games because fuck reinstalling them and all the setting in 'em.)
I'm having mouse issues with my Deathadder. On Windows 8.1 and every game doesn't seem to have as smooth movement as it should. Even at the slowest speeds the mouse doesn't seem to move smoothly it looks sort of twitchy/stuttery. Any ideas?

Everything worked fine for me. Obviously the games won't be in the registry or uninstallable from the control panel but it's not a big deal. Copy your documents folders over too as some games store the save files and options there.
