If the inverter is bad, you can usually find replacement boards on Ebay. If you can't, you can always rig something up with a generic inverter.
If it hits that in Furmark or while mining yes, if it hits that while gaming you may want to post what kind of card you have. Whilst it has handled it fine recently, I've noticed in game it would freeze up after playing for a while for a few seconds and then everything would resume back to normal, so I checked what was up in GPU-Z and Speccy and turns out it's running at 80C. There might be some dust in the gpu that I can't remove or maybe there's something else going wrong. Since it used to be able to handle Dota 2 fine at max settings without getting too hot.

And if noise doesn't bother you, use afterburner to set a more aggressive fan curve
I have the choice to buy a Samsung Galaxy S4 or a Blackberry Z10, which one would be the better purchase?
I have the choice to buy a Samsung Galaxy S4 or a Blackberry Z10, which one would be the better purchase?
I'd go for the S4 simply because it's Android. the Z10 is a good phone, but the fact that it's not on Android or iOS means it has a pretty bad app selection. [editline]3rd July 2014[/editline] what are some signs I should be on the look out for when it comes to a HDD dying?
I'd go for the S4 simply because it's Android. the Z10 is a good phone, but the fact that it's not on Android or iOS means it has a pretty bad app selection.
Well I have been under the impression that the Z10 could run APK files, so that's why I would need to ask. But I guess since I can get the S4 a bit cheaper then should I go for that one?
alright so i got my 4k monitor to work great but the font rendering in some websites look like shit [t]http://i.imgur.com/61QV3mN.png[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/sHhOsoR.png[/t] how do i fix the spacing between letters? i already calibrated cleartype and that didn't help. i'm using a registry hack to enable chrome's high DPI mode, is that the problem?

Some tiny ribbon cable or IC on the back of the panel is probably bad, which really can't be fixed without specialized equipment. If you want to save the monitor, you can try finding a replacement LCD panel, but it'd probably be more economical to just buy an entirely new monitor.
Might be a stupid question, but here goes. I have six gigs of memory installed in my computer. DxDiag confirms that there's six gigs, but my task manager only shows four? What's goin on there?
What does Control Panel -> System say? And you are running 64 bit right?
da hell. It's saying "6.00 GB (4.00 GB Usable)" And yes I'm on 64-bit. wat the fuck is this. [editline]4th July 2014[/editline] Tried using msconfig to set maximum memory to 6144. Upon restart I'm getting the same thing. Says that it's hardware reserved, but I already have 4GB of video memory. How do I make it cut that shit out?
Could be a few things: 1) BIOS bug (update your BIOS.) 2) BIOS has options configured incorrectly (Try resetting to defaults.) 3) Unsupported memory configuration (Some boards don't like certain memory configurations.) 4) Windows weirdness (Sometimes Windows refuses to see some memory for inexplicable reasons.) 5) Wrong drivers installed (Incorrect drivers for some devices can cause Windows to not use large chunks of RAM.) For #4, I have no idea how to fix it. I've installed Windows Vista and 7 on many machines and some will have the "hardware reserved" memory until some specific update is installed. I've never been able to figure out which and it doesn't always work.
Flashed the BIOS and I believe that worked. Right now it's showing 6.00 GB (5.50 GB Usable) which is a huge improvement. Apparently my 1600 RAM has been running at 1066 as well. Maybe just a placebo effect, but it already seems like my programs are starting faster. There's no telling how long this shit has been going on. [editline]4th July 2014[/editline] Okay after updating my BIOS and removing the memory limit in msconfig, all six gigs are showing up and functioning. Now could someone point me in the direction of a piece of software that could tell me in real time what my RAM clocks are? I recently got another three sticks for the secondary RAM slots and putting any RAM at all into -any- of the secondary slots regardless of the configuration of the other slots causes my PC to not boot. Gigabyte suggested there was something wrong with my CPU socket. Could that really be the cause?
CPU-Z
Is the Asus RT-N66U still a good router for £100? Know it is a few years old at this point.
I've asked before but I'm double checking because I've finally got the money to buy one, if I buy a 770ti now will it be completely swamped by the next generation of cards when they come out (september, right?) and will it be a complete waste of money? I'm starting some UE4 development and would like something that'll run better than my 560ti. On top of this, am I ok running it on a 500w PSU? If not, what wattage should I get. Other specs are i5 2500k, 8gb 1600mhz ddr3
depends what 500w psu it is [editline]4th July 2014[/editline] if it's a decent brand 500w should easily push it
depends what 500w psu it is [editline]4th July 2014[/editline] if it's a decent brand 500w should easily push it
it's an ocz modular one, think I payed £60 ish for it a couple of years ago
should do. you might be pushing it though
So I had this problem since a while and never found a way to resolve so i post here becuase hope. I have AMD HD6950 that has 1x Display Port, 1x HMDI port and 1x DVI port. My main monitor is plugged in via HDMI my secondary via DVI and I have cable from the DP to a HDMI on my TV. The DP-HDMI cable is not active so I have to disable my secondary monitor to use my TV. I know that much that I'd need an active cable to run all three screens at once because my card supports only two inactive display connections. But my problem is that when I run something over my TV and select said TV as the main audio output, there is no sound. I also get a message from Catalyst Control Center about a DVI to HDMI connection, and that I need a seperate audio cable to hear sound over the connected screen. But I have no DVI to HDMI. Help. No tl;dr.
CPU-Z
That's what I was using, but I didn't realize that it displayed in the base clock or whatever it's called. And what the double D stands for. Anyways, yeah. I took my processor out today, checked the pins on my board. There is ONE pin down there that looks a little off. I grabbed my mineral inspecting spectacles and the tiniest tweezers I could find, and tried to wiggle it back. Looks fine now. Reinstalled everything, booted up, same problem. No post no boot with ANY memory installed into ANY of my secondary slots regardless of what's in any of the other slots. I have a feeling if a cpu pin was truly at fault, the slot would just not read anything rather than causing my machine to fail to boot. Gigabyte isn't really helping me. Any ideas? Does displayport carry audio even?

Mixing and matching RAM sticks is never a good idea, especially if the capacity or brands are different. Something you definitely don't want to do is mix and match sticks with different speeds or with different timings.
I have a feeling if a cpu pin was truly at fault, the slot would just not read anything rather than causing my machine to fail to boot. Gigabyte isn't really helping me. Any ideas?
Large number of pins on processors are dedicated to ground or VCC. You can accidentally break a few of these pins and the CPU will still work. But if you get a data or address pin the CPU is hosed. But since Intel CPUs have had pads instead of pins since the LGA775, you have to worry about the landings on the motherboard socket getting knackered instead.
I might be wrong about this, but I believe that some of those early HDMI cards you have to actually hook the audio in from your motherboard with a small wire. I just got the first batch a few years back when DDR3 was ridic expensive. Same brand, same speed, same timing even. So you're saying I should return it and pick up a set of 3x4GB sticks instead?
Yeah, when I say CPU pin I mean socket pin. These little guys are really hard to fix. From what I can tell of the pinout, the bent pin is a ground one. I seriously doubt that would cause fail to start on secondary memory slots. The bad part is that apparently these X58 boards cost like three hundred damn dollars now to pick up new.
I want to get a 120hz or 144hz monitor and im looking at this right now http://www.amazon.com/VG248QE-24-Inch-Screen-LED-lit-Monitor/dp/B00B2HH7G0/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1404533425&sr=1-1&keywords=144hz+monitor But I can't get more than 60hz on the hdmi and I'm planning to plug it into my laptop (lenovo y510p) would it work for me to use a converter to plug into either dual dvi-d or display port from my hdmi (or vga)

HDMI and VGA won't output >60hz from your laptop, and your monitor can't take in >60hz from VGA or HDMI. If your laptop doesn't have DisplayPort or DVI you're out of luck, and it looks like it doesn't.
I'm told laptop has hdmi 1.4b so that means it would support up 120hz right? would picking a different monitor work?
