Is there any way to tell what causes a dump to desktop?
Occasionally while playing CS I hear a "DING" and my game minimizes to desktop, and I don't even see anything that would appear to have caused it.
So I put in a new cpu and mobo today and ever since, whenever I tell my computer to restart it shuts down and whatnot as normal but never actually does anything afterwards, it just stays on with a black screen. Any ideas? Shutting down works as normal.

If I were to upgrade my computer, which component would be more "important" to replace? (In terms of running video games better)
CPU: AMD FX-6300 Six Core Processor ~3.5GHz
GPU: Nvidia Geforce GTX 660 4GB

CPU, the single thread performance (the part that matters for games) with AMD CPUs is way worse than anything else you'll find out there. Replace that with an i5.

This may sound dumb, but would that type of CPU be able to fit a socket type of AM3+?

Nope.

Here's a motherboard as well as the CPU to go together, this is assuming you have a Micro ATX case.
What is the best water cooler for an i5 2500k (LGA 1155 socket)? Any recommendations? I know corsair make quite a few but they all seem mostly the same.

A custom loop. But a lot of it comes down to your case.

I did look into custom loop stuff but it seems like a lot of work for a noob like me. Maybe I'm better off getting a water cooler I can just pop in the case without having to fiddle too much.

Yeah, I figured as much, but what case do you have? That decides a lot.

fractal design define XL.
What is a good gaming mouse for people with big hands ? like me?

Looks like a thinner 280mm radiator will have the best cooling for you. The NZXT Kraken X61 or the Corsair H110

Thanks man, I will look into those.

I like the Logitech G500... However, since Logitech no longer makes the G500, the G500s is a good alternative.
However, they've also discontinued that, apparently. Amazon still sells them, though.
Roccat apparently makes some nice mice as well, they're probably worth a look.

Roccat is cheaply made, and easily breaks - opposite what they're claiming.
Razer has a plasticy feel and can easily break, they are apparantly good at sensors though.
Logitech has the G402 and G502 now, which IMO looks a bit weird, but should be better than before. Sensors have always been slightly bugged with some of their products (g500 for example)
I use Steelseries, and I'm loving my Rival right now. I have tried a Kana, but I would definetly not recommend RAW, the mice is good itself, but it feels weird because they use plastic to go down in price.

The 500S is just a 500 with a tamer design and a better sensor, allegedly better switches but I can't tell the difference.

Problem is, the 500s doesn't technically exist anymore. They're pushing the 502 and Core as replacements.
Monitor went on sale yesterday, decided to buy it.

I'm not ENTIRELY sure if this belongs here, but I was thinking of buying a PS4 controller to use for my PC. I plan on getting a PS4 later, and I guess 2 controllers will be useful (considering it comes with a controller).
It would really just be an upgrade, as I have no problem with my current gamepad. I mean, it'd be wireless (assuming I can connect it using [url=https://www.google.com/shopping/product/12085919863561454382?safe=off&rlz=1C1MSIM_enUS599US599&sclient=psy-ab&q=Bluetooth%C2%AE+Ver+2.1+%2B+EDR&oq=Bluetooth%C2%AE+Ver+2.1+%2B+EDR&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_cp.r_qf.&bvm=bv.72676100,d.aWw,pv.xjs.s.en_US.Awb34k65D9A.O&ion=1&espv=2&biw=1920&bih=955&tch=1&ech=1&psi=mmzkU5zQGsT4yQTKlILQBQ.1407478925692.23&sa=X&ei=XG7kU82ZLoSUyAS68oHwAQ&ved=0CMAEEPMCMAM]one of these?[/url]), it'd have vibration and whatnot, I think, and apparently the touchpad can work as a mouse. It'd also be nice having the guide button as I could maybe actually make use of Big Picture mode for the games I use a controller in. I also just feel like it'd be more... compatible?
So my question is if you guys think it'd be worth it, and how I should go about hooking it up. Is the controller nice and comfortable, does it work correctly, etc.? I have actually never held one so I really don't know.

I was just looking at those and double checked my case, the define xl only has space for one 140mm fan at the back of the case so wouldn't a 280mm radiator be too big?

I just bought one, and already had a bluetooth controller. Oddly enough most of the stuff seems to work without, but otherwise there's a tool called DS4tool that will make it run like a Xbox.
It works incredibly well, and I'm loving it.
I even play AC4 without DS4tool, Big Picture works out of the box as well. Haven't tried others but the Xbox emulation should fix the rest.
I would really recommend it :) Just remember to get a extra Micro-USB cable for charging. I had to use my phone charger for a while since it doesn't come with the box :v:
Am I bottlenecking:
AMD FX-6350
AMD R9 290
8GB 1600 RAM
While playing Metro Last Light my system cant stay 50+ FPS on 1080p. I'm pretty sure its because of my CPU. If I wanted to stick with AMD AM3+, what should I upgrade to to get the best performance difference (for gaming)?

AM3+ is an outdated socket without any real upgrades aside from the 8000 series (even then their single thread performance which matters for games still sucks). Switch to LGA 1150 and go with one of the Haswell Refresh CPUs.

You'd be putting it on the top two 140mm spots
Does anyone know what these are?
