Alright
Will buy it when it comes out
I just hope it can handle Witcher 3 smoothly
What's the best 2TB hard drive for under $100? I'm using it for storage so I can live with a slower drive, but most of the drives I've been looking at have a LOT of bad reviews saying their drives failed (like 25% of the reviews).
I use a seagate barracuda 2tb
What's the best brand of laptop? I'm looking for a school computer and want a good balance between power, price, and durability.
I'd like if they have a range between high end and low end computers because I'm not quite sure if I want to sell my desktop and use the notebook as my compter full time, or just get a lighter one for school + travel.
I think I might have fried my mobo. If I plugged the wrong molex cable into my mobo's eatx12v socket, would that have destroyed it once I turned it on? Cause now it won't turn on, even though everything's plugged in

Okay, pc starts up but I'm still having problems getting it to display on my monitor. I put my old graphics card in and even that doesn't display anymore, so is this a sign it's the motherboard that's the problem?
I just want this answered. Is it worth buying http://m.netonnet.se/art/dator/stationar-dator/desktop/HP-Pavilion500-243eo/199129.3012/ or will it get outdated fast and i will not be able to upgrade it with better components.

The graphics card is a joke compared to everything else. Build the same rig yourself and replace the R7 240 with an R9 280X or a GTX 770 if you want to go with Nvidia.
Pretty bummed, been sat all day trying to figure out why my PC won't work. In the end, I decided I'm due for a mobo upgrade, since the motherboard was most likely the problem.
Ordered an MSI Z87 MPower mobo. Will be delivered on Thursday. Damn.
I see some people here post like a gif recording of a portion of their computer screen, how/what do they use to do that?
example http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1384667&p=45669675&viewfull=1#post45669675

Just like you can install a new gpu, you can replace the gpu
Will I be able to upgrade the computer if something gets old example the gpu?Or is it limited?
You can, but with prebuilts like that they normally come with either low wattage power supplies or just plain shitty ones. If you build your PC instead you'll know exactly what's going in as well as what the general consensus of those parts is.
But it's hell lot more expensive!
No it isn't, in my currency that prebuilt costs £694.
I was able to put together this build with the same specifications for £570.

how many times has it been that you've asked if the pre-builts you're linking are good? :v:
I stand by the advice I gave last time, it'd be better if you asked us to get you something rather than you digging around since it doesn't seem like you have much knowledge on the topic (no offense intended)
Anyone have any ideas why email doesn't work on any android device i try?
This only happens over my home wifi, when i use 3G it works fine and regular computers on the same network but wired work fine.
It happens with multiple email accounts, when verifying settings it'll instantly say "cannot connect to server" and i also sometimes see this message in logcat:
08-13 15:51:40.539: I/Email(5956): com.android.emailcommon.mail.MessagingException: java.net.ConnectException: failed to connect to imap.vevida.com/2a00:f60::1:55 (port 143) after 10000ms: isConnected failed: ENETUNREACH (Network is unreachable)
But i have no idea why that happens:
C:\Users\Wisse>adb shell
shell@mako:/ $ nslookup imap.vevida.com
nslookup imap.vevida.com

turns out this was caused by improper settings on my router, which caused android to think it could use IPv6 when my ISP doesn't properly support it yet. Strangely enough my PC also has a local IPv6 address but outlook just uses IPv4
I'm trying to get my friend's HD 5830 onto my computer, but something's not working. The drivers won't download because they can't detect the card, and it's not appearing in the device manager. Is there any reason for that?

Kind of a dumb question, but did you make sure you connected your monitor to the output on the back of the graphics card and not your motherboard's I/O? I'm only asking because a friend of mine had a similar problem with his brand new PC and it took him three days to realize that he plugged the HDMI cable into his motherboard instead of his GTX 780.
Hey guys, recently bought a GTX 770 2GB, how well will this card handle modern games such as BF4, Titanfall, etc. etc. and how well will it handle games that are upcoming, such as Witcher 3 and Evolve?

We did, but that gave me an idea. I'll get back to you with that.

Should be able to max out all those at 1080p except maybe some of the as setting on the witcher
Thanks for the reply :)
I've been googling around for some information regarding PSU failure but haven't found much, so I'll ask here
yet again, after my SSD failed me, I've been worried about all my other old components in my desktop. I recently replaced my crossfire'd 6870's, i5 661, P7P55D-E motherboard and my SSD as it died on me. I still sport some old components which are all about 5 years old. my RAM, HDD and PSU are the only components I didn't replace when I upgraded, which has had me on the edge as I'm afraid of failure, especially when speaking of the PSU and HDD.
I ran a long SMART test on my HDD using Seatools earlier this month which it passed, but I'm not sure where the results are stored other than the generic passed message it gave me in the software. PSU on the other hand, I'm not exactly experienced when it comes to those and as far as I know, there's no easy way to test them like you can with a HDD for example. I keep hearing the horror stories of one faulty/dying PSU taking an entire desktop with them, so it has me worried for the 5 year old PSU I have.
I currently have the HX650 by Corsair. is there any reason to be worried and is there any form of testing I can perform on it to check its health? it feels like I asked once earlier, but I can't recall
How old is it? There's not much you can check without specialized equipment. It's a solid sea sonic unit though

Originally, we connected the monitor to both the motherboard and the graphics card. For some reason, disconnecting the motherboard allowed the computer to recognize the graphics card.

Yeah, you only need to connect it to your graphics card. The motherboard I/O panel only has connections for monitors in the event that you don't have a dedicated GPU in your computer, like one of those cheap, low-end prebuilt systems from Best Buy or Walmart.

I knew that, but I didn't think that connecting both simultaneously would cause one not to be read. Oh well, that's why you troubleshoot right?
And I got a friend to buy the build off me. Now I can afford rent. I'll be building again whenever I have the money to spare.
