yep
RIP Money.
You don't have to spend $120 just to get a decent mech board, go for a QuickFire TK or QuickFire Pro, they're both great boards. [editline]1st March 2013[/editline] And imo the only real reason to get a WASD keyboard is if you're looking for customization, and that'll just drive the price even higher.

I'll consider buying a wasd Keyboard next payday for my Main Workstation.
Oh my bad I thought you were the original guy asking for a keyboard for his brother.
Changing power supplies because of cable management. Is this good enough to power two GTX 670s in SLI? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182263 It's $90 after a promo code.
So I have a GTX 660m in my laptop, and whenever I turn on Physx in any game that uses it, my framerate tanks even when it was 60+ fps before. Google turned up nothing related to my issue. It happens in Hawken, Mirror's Edge and Borderlands 2. In Mirror's Edge and B2 my FPS is almost always 40+, unless I turn on physx, then it go down to the teens. Has anyone had this issue or know of a fix? My drivers are all up to date, and I've made sure my games weren't missing any files. EDIT: Oh yeah, also made sure the game were set to use my dedicated card instead of my integrated card, and tried both setting the Physx processor to GPU and CPU, both get about the same performance (shit).
Well physx is known for it's CUDA core use. Of course the FPS would plummet. You'd have to lower the resolution in order to get higher framerate. My PC gets 70fps with Physx ON, when it's off it doubles or goes into the 100s.
but if you're going to get an expensive keyboard it should be mechanical, wasting money on a poop keyboard with a red LED is stupid.
My G15 has never failed me in the 5 years that I've had it. I don't see the reason for the apparent FP hard-on for mechanical keyboards. What makes them so much better? Please don't flame me for this, I genuinely have no idea and would like to know why you consider mechanical superior.

Once you used a mechanical keyboard, you never want to go back.

I guess I'll have to try one out some day, sounds very promising! This might sound like a stupid question, but are mechanicals water resilient? I don't know if it has to do with my keyboard being a rubber-dome one, but I have spilled so much water on it over the years it should for all intents and purposes be stone dead, but it just keeps going and the water hasn't damaged anything.

If you ever have an accident with any keyboard, unplug as fast as possible.
If I buy a bluetooth tablet keyboard, can I hook it up to a desktop PC? I'm assuming I'll need a bluetooth adapter, but has anyone tried this?
Mechanical keyboards are still electronic, aka liquid + electricity = bad. If you ever have an accident with any keyboard, unplug as fast as possible.
Yeah I get that (I did study engineering :v:) but after having spilled so much water on my G15 without it dying I really suspect it is built somewhat water resilient, like that water doesn't easily leak through to the electronics due to it being a rubber-dome keyboard, whereas maybe mechanical keyboards aren't as well insulated by nature and thus die from fluids easier. Obviously if I were to pour a full glass over my keyboard it would die, but it has survived smaller, sip-sized amounts on many, many occasions.

They usually work really good and are stable too.
I meant to link a Corsair psu, accidentally posted the XFX one twice. It was the best modular one made by them I could find for under $100. [editline]1st March 2013[/editline] Here it is, http://us.ncix.com/products/?sku=78574&vpn=CP-9020061-NA&manufacture=Corsair

Either the XFX or one of the Rosewills you listed. The OCZ ZT 750 is fully modular and is usually $100 after rebate.
I think I'll go with the XFX one, the modular cables are really thin compared to the rest and won't make my back panel bulge out. I'll pass on OCZ since they're dying and may have sell the power supply assets to survive.
I'm planning some monitor upgrades. Right now, both my desktops are hooked up to a single 1600x900 monitor (and one is also hooked up to mirror to my TV). I want better. I'm planning on getting a good 120Hz 1920x1080, for the fast-paced games, and one of the cheaper 2560x1440 monitors for slower games and for general work. I'm focusing on the latter for now - I'll research the 1080p options later. I've narrowed it down to either the Dell UltraSharp U2711 (NewEgg), or the Asus PB278Q (NewEgg). Both 27", 2560x1440 monitors. The Asus has a slightly faster response time, and a better LED backlight (and is about $100 cheaper, although I've only looked on NewEgg for pricing so far), but the Dell has more inputs (including USB) and after the two months of "issues" getting my laptop, I'm loathe to buy anything from Asus. I've also seen varied reviews about image quality. A lot of people are bitching about the matte on the Dell, but there are also a lot whining about backlight leaking on the Asus. I'm not an opponent of glossy screens (since I live in a cave and my desk is positioned such that there aren't any lights behind me), but I've never seen a matte, so maybe just don't know it's better. Anyways, to actually ask a question: Does anyone here have either of those monitors? If so, would you recommend it? As another point of interest, how fast is switching between inputs? I may have both my laptop and a desktop plugged in, and I'd like to be able to switch between inputs ideally with only a single button press and a quarter-second of switching, but really, as long as it isn't too bad, I can deal with it. Some of the monitors I've seen are a lot more complex to switch, or take a while to switch between them.
Brt is the one to ask about 1440p monitors.

If you have the money now then I'd say buy it. I have a matte monitor and my friend has a glossy monitor that's pretty much identical, not much difference in image quality or color unless you're planning on having your face 8 inches from it, at that point you notice how blurred some things are. Besides, right now it's basically the same as the Asus, but still $100 more expensive. If I'm going in big, I'm going in all the way.
I used the U2412 in a Best Buy for a little bit and you had to be actively looking to notice any ghosting, it's not bad at all. Then again I don't know the differences between the two monitors so one could be better or worse than the other when it comes to the response time.

I can max out lots of games (Except SSAO, I always turn that off for the frames), or at least play them on medium high, but the second Physx comes into play, it's down to 20 FPS for me. Is it possible that some connections on the inside got fucked up? It would seem like if that was the case, then I'd be seeing performance drops all over the place. If no one has any more advice, I might put in a call to the manufacturer's tech support line, see if they know anything about it.
