I actually really like this phone. What carrier are you on in the UK?
Quick question. I've noticed a few people on here have blogs, could you tell me which hosts/companies you use and how easy they've been to set up? I've been recommended a company called 1and1 http://www.1and1.co.uk/register-a-domain-name by a friend of mine, and it looks fairly straightforward, but I really want to get some other options and 2nd opinions before I go sign up. Thanks!

I've used both domain.com and namecheap.com before without any problems.

get 3's £15 p/mo PAYG plan. it's excellent
[editline]18th September 2014[/editline]
GiffGaff is also a good option, but since they use o2's network, signal might be sketchy.
[editline]18th September 2014[/editline]
at least if we're talking unlimited data, which to me is pretty much essential. with these PAYG unlimited plans you can't tether, though. so take that in to account if you want to do that

giffgaff (which runs through O2's lines)

I'm currently on a £25 contract with 3 (1000 mins/texts all you can eat data) and since the 1+1 is unlocked I can shove it on that until it expires, then start another when it ends! Brilliant.

And I don't really need tethering so that's more than useful.
3 isn't charging any extra for 4g like EE/o2 etc. either. honestly them or giffgaff are definitely the best choice, depending on which gets the best reception. i get HSDPA+ where i live and it's fantastic. 15/10 inside my house
How good is EE's broadband too? My mate has it and he says its about good enough for things like Youtube and such.
Do you mind if I ask you guys for an invite later on?
Is it possible for a computer to cause a whole network to have 85-90% packet loss at random but causes it to happen consistently for a period of time? For example, just a couple minutes ago, every time I jointed a TS server my network would crumble until I disconnected. Then I restarted my computer, and now it doesn't happen anymore.
What the fuck is even going on?
can anyone reccommened an hdmi splitting device thingy?
just trying to use my monitor for both pc and console

I suppose its possible if your router is getting overloaded. Apparently Cisco NAC would crash my landlord's cheap Belkin router. It would crash twice a day and NAC would try to ping my school's authentication server every few seconds (which it obviously won't reach). I guess it kept opening new connections without terminating them. Might have been a coincidence, but ever since uninstalling it, no problems.
A bit of anecdotal evidence, but apparently its very easy for a single machine to bring down an entire network if the network equipment isn't robust enough. Better question is why. Its worth investigating if its repeatable. Maybe run Wireshark on the machine when you connect it to the network to see what its doing.

uuuuhhhhh i remember there's a certain model of chinashit one that strips hdcp which can be useful
http://www.amazon.com/ViewHD-Port-Powered-Splitter-1080P/dp/B004F9LVXC maybe?
are they really all that pricey though? ;/
expected it to be a bit cheaper

You can't simply split the signal. It needs to be repeated. Especially since HDMI uses two way communication. That's honestly a lot cheaper than I expected.
Is it bad to leave your computer on like all the time?
I do a weekly restart, but I rarely ever leave it off for more than a couple hours.

Wastes a few cents worth of power, kinda noisy, might burn through fans a bit faster (I ran my desktop for two weeks straight mining bitcoins, broke two of my case fans in the process but they were old to begin with) but if it doesn't bother you nothing really wrong with it.

I've been doing this lately. Occasionally, we'll get a minor brownout, and it'll restart. If it's in sleep mode or on, that's not a problem. If it's in hibernate, it BREAKS EVERYTHING. I spent half an hour today trying to figure out why my PC wasn't displaying video, only to find out hibernate had hard-locked it before it managed to post.
So... Make sure to turn off auto-hibernate if you do decide to put it in sleep mode. Or get a UPS.

Yeah it's not set to hibernate. When I'm not doing anything it's just on screensaver. (The Windows 98 maze one too)

I've had too many issues with Windows becoming incredibly stupid if it hasn't been completely shut off in a while, but if you're not plagued by those issues there shouldn't be a problem
On Fedora 20 (or just Linux in general), what is a good free way to use android apps?
There is always the Virtual box way, though I suppose there is a better one
How do I fix my PNY 16gb USB that is stuck with only 32mb of storage?

That's an issue with Win7/your hardware.
So occasionally lately, my laptop's wifi has been borked on wake (doesn't even show as an option), and I have to toggle wifi on and off to get it working.
It started pretty much the day I got a Wii U, and I know those use wifi to link the controller and console. Am I being paranoid in chalking it up to that, or is it more than a coincidence?

I'd chalk it up to wacky Wifi drivers more than anything. For some reason they aren't waking up the wifi adapter automatically. Check driver updates, reinstall drivers, you know the drill.
I need to upgrade my PSU for a GTX 970 and would like some suggestions for cheaper models. I'm currently looking at this to replace my current PSU. I'm not familiar with PSUs and was wondering if there is anything with better quality at a sub $90USD price? I only need a single-rail and preferably 600W.
Over the last few weeks, the image on my first monitor randomly starts flashing.
It basically mangles the image together, like in that split second I can see the taskbar higher up in the screen and my browser's window pulled together.
The funny is, this always happens randomly and lasts not even a second, and it ONLY happens on my main display (HP W1907V) and only when I'm not in a fullscreen program.
