i just bought an am3+ cpu (the fx-8350) do i need a new motherboard or can i use my http://us.msi.com/product/mb/870-G45.html#/?div=Overview that is an am3 board?
Some am3 mobos can use am3+ cpus with a bios upgrade, but it looks like yours can't: http://us.msi.com/product/mb/870-G45.html#/?div=CPUSupport
Does anyone remember that site that allowed you to list what programs you wanted and it pretty much packaged them all for you? It was really useful for reformatting and upgrades.

I don't know about MOV, but Virtualdub and x264vfw64 does wonders.
That is if you are ok with it outputting an AVI.

I already have that installed and it won't show up. I dunno what I did wrong.

In virtualdub?
Looking at this MSI 7950. Is this a good deal?
http://www.scan.co.uk/products/3gb-msi-radeon-hd-7950-twin-frozr-5000mhz-gddr5-gpu-800mhz-1792-cores-dvi-hdmi-mini-dport-pluscrossf
Also it says the core clock is 800Mhz whilst all the other cards on that site are like 880Mhz but are priced higher, does this actually make a big difference, or can I just overclock to this speed myself? Also, I hear that this card is voltage locked, is that going to be a problem in the long run in terms of overclocking?
In virtualdub?
Well it won't show up in after effects or sony vegas. I don't have virtualdub so i can't really test that.
[editline]4th April 2013[/editline]
hold up, someone told me that it could be because both vegas and after effects are 64 bit (or at least my copies)
is the codec only compatible with 32 bit programs?

?
I haven't had any problems with it
My keyboard has stopped working leaving me with the on screen keyboard for now. I was going to use my android device for input but my college has every port closed and i dont have access to the router. Anyone know if there is a way to get around this or any other way to use an android or iPod as a keyboard?
On the plus side I am getting better with the virtual keyboard.
Do you know how I can split audio between 2 sources? Like I want a movie playing through monitor 2 + the speakers on that monitor, but I also want to play a game on monitor 1 and have that games sound come from monitor 1.

I got it working, just used the keyboard through teamviewer. Using a phone keyboard is not great but it beats using the mouse.

I've heard Speccy delivers inaccurate temp readings on Ivys, are there any good accurate ones that hopefully don't do much else other than read temps?

So this is happening on the Galaxy S 4G. I have no idea what it is, I can't find anything about it, and I seemingly have no power over anything. Any suggestions?

I reverse image searched it and came up with this:

looks like you need to unbrick it

I was actually in the process of unbricking before that (seemingly) randomly happened :v:
Thanks for the link!

Well holy fuck it worked great. Thank you so, very, very much!

I have a few spares back home. This is a temporary fix until I can either get one of them mailed to me or walk down the road and find a shop.
So I was thinking of buying a second graphics card.
May be a stupid question, but do I need two identical cards or can they be of any brand and model?
Currently have a Gainward 560 Ti Phantom installed.

afaik you need to have the same series card, though model doesn't matter past that too much.
i would stick to the same brand too.
so get a gainward 5xx anything, you should be fine.
Err, not sure SLI works that way actually. It has to be the same chipset (in this case 560). The brand however doesn't matter.
BUT, you can install any GPU if you don't bother SLI'ing.

I've heard HW monitor is good, not sure about the validity of the source though.
