afaik you need to have the same series card, though model doesn't matter past that too much. i would stick to the same brand too. so get a gainward 5xx anything, you should be fine.
For SLI to work you need the same chipset (560), you could use to different cards to drive multiple monitors but SLI wouldn't work.
Are these any good?
Is firefox sync down for anyone else?
I have a controller for PC/PS3 where the Left stick do weird stuff inside games. In games like Mirror edge, pushing the stick up make me go backward, and pushing down make me do forward, and games like Dark souls, the character simply move automatically Left and forward. However, in the proprieties, the stick work fine. Any idea where I should start looking to fix this? Controller is this: Controller It the same model but distributed by others in my country...
What's the easiest way of checking if my CPU is bottle necking my GPU?
What's your CPU and GPU?
What's your CPU and GPU?
CPU: FX 4100 @ 3.6GHz (I think) GPU: GTX 560ti 1GB
Anyone know a web-based-shared-coding-thing? What I mean is like, put this thing up, select folders and make accounts, people can log in and work on code on the box and stuff. idk how to explain it, but is there anything like that?
I usually have the answers but I have a problem that has had me stumped for awhile. My computer will have these "hiccups" where sound will lag and loop for only a fraction of a second along with other computer functions. It's so short that its barely noticeable unless you are using the computer for an extended amount of time. I think it could possibly something to do with the flash player but I could be wrong.
CPU: FX 4100 @ 3.6GHz (I think) GPU: GTX 560ti 1GB
AMD's CPU's aren't that good for gaming anymore. A i3 could probaly beat that in gaming.
AMD's CPU's aren't that good for gaming anymore. A i3 could probaly beat that in gaming.
Yeah i've been looking at a load of benchmarks and it seems it's slightly less powerful than certain models of i3. I haven't really got too much choice, with my motherboard only supporting AMD CPUs, however it looks like the PileDriver series is getting quite a lot of praise for gaming, especially the 8350.
If you really care about performance, you might as well save up for a haswell combo
I'm not exactly looking amazing performance however the 8350 is around £130 (possibly lower haven't looked around) which seems a rather large upgrade from the 4100, it seems to pack quite a bit of power for the price. I'd probably much prefer that than saving for an Intel CPU and a mobo to go with it as I don't really have the money. I'll take a look into Haswell combos and see if there's anything that would suit what I need. Thanks!
I would just like to confirm that my motherboard is indeed compatible with this RAM, right? Because I bought some of that RAM, and after a while I found it was faulty (memtest gave loadsa errors), it was replaced by scan and I am now finding that the PC is incredibly unstable (freezing, bluescreens) when I have the replacement RAM in it. I assume that the replacement RAM is faulty, as the PC works fine with some other, older RAM in it, but I just want to be sure that its not something else.
It should. Your motherboard might be faulty though.
When you guys build, do you generally put on the Intel sticker? I did my first build a week or so back and I put it on the case, and I'm rethinking it now.
AMD's CPU's aren't that good for gaming anymore. A i3 could probaly beat that in gaming.
There's not that much difference anymore, AMD is easily better price/performance
Does anyone know the "Mouse Smoothing" effect? I'm not talking about Mouse Acc or Smooth in games but it's like this: You move your mouse, after you stop moving it, the pointer will still go in that direction for a bit. The thing is: in STALKER games, there is a command that changes the "smoothness" of this. Value = 0 means no smoothing and extremely precise, "1" means the mouse will almost go forever. Is it possible for Windows to have this through some kind of 3rd party program?
I have a couple of questions regarding desktop virtualisation, mainly because my textbook doesn't seem to make these answers clear. What are the advantages of using a hosted desktop? What are the disadvantages of using a hosted desktop? Why use a hosted desktop over a terminal services? If you are unclear on the terminology; terminal services are when a terminal (usually with a thin client) connects to a server running a single OS that provides the desktop environment. Hosted desktops are when a terminal connects to a server which provides it with its own virtual machine.

Anything beyond that to get raw input is usually overkill, the effect you described is even very unlikely at the highest windows accel.
When you guys build, do you generally put on the Intel sticker? I did my first build a week or so back and I put it on the case, and I'm rethinking it now.
No, it's tacky imo

Disadvantages are probably that you have no physical access if something goes wrong, and all your trust it put into this third party regarding your files. Dunno much about terminal services, but that's what I'd say for the first two questions~
Anyone got any experience in gamepads? Seen some very varied reviews for any of those I've been looking at.
What's a good way to get the original Thief to run on Windows 7?
Anyone got any experience in gamepads? Seen some very varied reviews for any of those I've been looking at.
You can use both xbox and playstation controllers on pc (you need the motioninjoy software to get ps controllers to work). Other than that, I assume the logitech one used by valve to show of the big picturemode is good.
I think that 30C at load with an i5-3330 using a stock cooler is a bit off. I'm using HWmonitor.
I think that 30C at load with an i5-3330 using a stock cooler is a bit off. I'm using HWmonitor.
That's a fairly normal temperature for a stock cooler.
Oh.
Would a radeon hd 6850 burn out if it's left at 80C for long periods?
