Double click on the download and it will open it with the default program
What kind of power supply should you get if you plan to have SLI of 980GTX?
850W?
what the hell is this thing.
the front panel has a bunch of LEDs I think. Can't seem to remove it.

It probably is something basic from days past, my mom gave it as showed it as she thought it was mine. It has no name or manual with it.
might end up building a desktop, from spare parts left over. athlon 64 x2 @ 2.4....? a xfx gts 250, and 6gb of mix' n match ram. what should be the focus if i try to upgrade it?
What kind of power supply should you get if you plan to have SLI of 980GTX?

2 stock GTX 980's in SLI should consume around 330 watts at most. If you include a high performance Core i5 processor (4690) then you would expect your total system to draw around a theoretical ~550 watts. A 750 watt unit would be considered reasonable.
Also why SLI GTX 980? SLI GTX 970 would represent a significantly better value for something like ultra quality 4K gaming. Anything above a single GTX 970 for 1080p would be a considerable waste.
a good 500w unit will fit the job just fine assuming you don't push the voltage on the cards.
nevermind i thought you wanted to sli a 9800gt :pwn: the gtx goes before now

Just looks like an external hard drive case with firewire and USB. There's two firewire ports to allow for daisy chaining.
Going to upgrade my rig today.

Just going to be going for 970/980 sli and more storage and a new power supply and of course the ROG swift, I'm kinda desperate right now and can't wait since I just scored a full time job and really can't get enough of that 144 hz screen in 1440p.
Just need some confirmation... would you guys rather for reference 980 or strix? I just want to get the highest OC possible since I want no regrets even when the 980 ti series is released. I heard that that reference coolers in sli is better because of the blower style but at the same time if you have a good case with good airflow ( and right amount of fans) that you should be fine...
I personally think my current setup has good airflow and won't have a problem with strix.

Trying to convince myself I don't need a 500GB ssd ( I know I don't but... I feel like going overkill); I'm NOT upgrading my cpu or mobo or going to bother changing my cpu cooler; maybe if I drop the SSD I can get a 128GB one and maybe a case? If so suggestions?
I'm pretty nervous when I personally make a purchase so just need some reassurance.

Probably going to go with this..

The crucial is slightly cheaper than the samsung 512gb and the extras in savings allow me to grab third 1TB HDD, also got a gold rated PSU saved me $110 right there.
If I ditch the SSD I can pick up a new case; I just want easier cable management really and don't mind a new look but I'll have to see if I really want a full tower case or not.. Gotta work on my cable management but I'm so lazy ):
If you're going with a 1TB hard drive, 256GB for applications and OS should be plenty.
Then again, I don't know how many programs you plan to download.
If you plan to test OS, without wanting to sacrifice speed because you'll most likely used to it, a 500 GB SSD should be great.
Because let's face it, a 120 GB SSD won't suit if you want to do that.

I'd avoid Seagate drives. They are not very reliable. Seagate also tamper with their drives SMART data to help hide early warning signs of failure whilst its inside warranty.
A Western Digital Red or Hitachi Deskstar drive for bulk storage is more ideal.
The MX100 is not considered to be a good drive. It is a low-endurance drive with 72TB of writes and a 3 year warranty. Crucial also have a poor reputation. I strongly suggest to get a Samsung 840 EVO if you're able to.
That power supply unit is too much even for a GTX 980 SLI configuration.
I advise to stick with a single GTX 970. The GTX 980 is a lot more expensive for not much extra performance. A single GTX 970 is ideal for high/ultra quality gaming at 2560x1440.

Ok thanks for the SSD point that was helpful but I'll be fine with the HDDs I'll go for hitachi since it won't hurt.
But really I don't understand why you are suggesting me to stick with a single GTX 970 when I clearly want a sli configuration for 100+ fps in 1440p to accommodate my asus rog swift monitor..

That's a rather interesting article. You prompted me to research more online and I did find the return rate of disk drives from different companies, with Seagate being one of the lowest. I will take strong note of your post.
I still do stand by my second point though regarding Seagates SMART data issue and I should probably explain why so. The big issue is that a hard error will not get reported until enough of them has been accumulated. By the time it does so the drive will be generally dead and be outside its warranty. In the real world it's noticeable as there are a ton of Seagate drives that would show obvious signs of failure yet still report healthy SMART error values. You can find this out on how Seagate records their SMART errors.

For playing games on high/ultra graphics with a very high framerate in 1440p then it's understandable to go for SLI then. I would still just consider a GTX 970 SLI in this situation. GTX 980 SLI is way more expensive for not that much extra performance.

Here's my logic on this
The 970 sli is a great combo with insane price to performance ratio and are just as good as a 980 but the problem here is that I want the most FPS possible I want the best of the best right now so that when the 980 ti comes out I won't feel as bad... Get what I'm saying?
If I'm going to go all out I want to do it in a way where I have no regrets sure the 980 costs more but it's going to still be overall powerful with overclocks; I'll be happy and be like " meh the 980 ti sli still shits on my 980s but eh it's k still 2nd best) as opposed to 3rd best.
Just my logic here.
I wanna upgrade my monitor setup
My current: Gateway 20 inch 900p IPS and Samsung 20 inch 900p TN panel (terrible picture)
My budget is 250 and it's a bestbuy guftcard sadly. I'm thinking of a 24 inch Asus 1200p monitor and then I'll use my Gatway in portrait mode
Tldr; What are the pros and cons of 16:10?
Tldr; What are the pros and cons of 16:10?
Pro:
If you're doing coding or writing or anything that uses a lot of vertical space, it has more vertical space
Because they're seen as higher-end, 16:10 monitors are often higher-quality (just because nobody really makes dirt-cheap piece-of-crap ones)
Con:
Usually more expensive than 16:9
Small blackbars when playing 16:9 movies (nowhere near as bad as 4:3 playing 16:9 but still there)

I'm getting into coding and I write for school documents. How is it for gaming?
I'm getting into coding and I write for school documents. How is it for gaming?
It's fine for gaming. Most PC games will render fine natively at 16:10, worst-case you might have to deal with the borders. I'm no longer on a 16:10 display, but my previous laptop was 16:10 and I can remember only a handful of games that didn't work at native resolution.
What's pximouse and should I disable it from startup?

As long as he runs it in Virtual box there shouldn't be an issue. Windows tends to be very sensitive to hardware changes for driver and kernel reasons. But virtual box should keep it pretty consistent.

guys what is a good affordable webcam that i can buy?

You might have problems then. Not guaranteed, but as a rule, Windows installs don't really transfer well between hardware.
So I think I need a new power supply. I have a 650w Coolermaster GX that I purchased ~3 years ago and lately my computer has been starting but not booting on occasion. The PSU clicks and then the system restarts and posts, and sometimes the process repeats until it decides to fully work. I have a 660ti and a 2500k, both overclocked, 5 case fans along with 2 on my heatsink, two HDDs, and a fan controller. Also, while gaming the GPU doesn't pull as much power as it could be pulling yet my GPU usage is at 90%+
Would getting a new one (750w maybe) be a good idea?
