I figured lol. Oh well, payday is only like a week away so, yeah.
Any way to shut Windows Desktop Window Manager up? Every time I focus Hammer's 3D view, or move Dolphin over to my second monitor I will either get prompted or it disables desktop composition. [T]http://upl.kittehcat.org/2014-11-07_19-55-37.jpg[/T] My second monitor is connected to the motherboard's output, so it's driven by my A10-6800K. Should this be solved by slapping more RAM against the APU? [editline]7th November 2014[/editline] Oh for the record, this also happens on the stock Aero theme.
disable composition when the programs are running. windows has no button to disable those warnings.
So I am looking at getting a 4k monitor, and my laptop has intel hd4000 with a mini-hdmi. I was reading that I am able to push 4k with hdmi 1.4, is this true?
if the GPU supports it it will probably do 4K at 30hz if I'm not mistaken, but it will be a serious eye strainer at 30hz.
That's my next question. This is for productivity, 12+ hours of use at a time. How bad are we talking?
Hey I wanna get a dual monitor setup, but I'm thinking of actually taking the time to save up and get 1 monitor at 60hz and one at higher than 60hz refresh rate to use for gaming. My initial thought after browsing Newegg was to get a 144hz monitor for gaming (60hz as an extension for workstation and general fuckery) but then my friends got in a squabble on a facebook post over getting 2 120hz monitors at a lower price vs one 144hz for better performance. If 2 120hz monitors would be truly cheaper than 1 144hz monitor (or cheap enough to make that big of a difference) I'd just get them, the only problem is, I can't fucking find any. Newegg doesn't even have a 120hz option, and every amazon link is actually 60hz even though it's in my search results for 120hz. What should I do? And where the fuck are the 120hz monitors?
It's only really a placebo effect once you go past 60hz unless your gaming absolutely needs it. Also your friends are tards for squabbling on facebook :v: I still game on 75hz and I multi monitor at 75hz too.
Yeah, it all has to do with personal preferences and what kind of games you play. Personally I almost exclusively play RPG's and it's not worth the money whatsoever for a 120 over my current 75. Much rather have 1440p.

And a lot of people like the whole lightboost thing, which runs at 120hz anyway. I vote one 120/144 and a 60hz. This is what I did, and you can even get models that match! Your clean ass desks are what's convinced me to redo my setup.
I like to think I'm not ocd but I totally am.
I play shooters/open world games mostly, but not extensively. I'm an amateur dev, so maybe 1440p would be better than higher hz. I still want to have 2 monitors though.

I do agree with the 1440p though, I think I am going to buy a 4k monitor pretty quick here. If you want both, I think asus has a 1440 144hz 27" monitor.
Yeah I'm thinking of a 2560x1440 and 1920x1200. Would allow for so much desk space as 2560x1080 + 1280x1024 + 1280x1024 takes up the whole thing. Damn expensive though.
Yea man, welcome to my struggle. I go through setups way too much.
haha I'm sure I'll go through several as well, driving my wife crazy the whole time.
I can't decide between these two http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119260 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811139035
Do you there will be enough cooling for my SLI setup? I bought a good CPU cooler aswell
oh god yes
Sweet. Ty man
I personally like the 780t more. Looks like it came out of portal.
jesus fucking christ every single piece of technology seems to be failing me recently now my gpu is probably dead month old MSI 970, I was just watching some show on my PC when the fans went overdrive. I shut down the PC after I couldn't figure out what would task my GPU so much, and now the fans stop running a few seconds after I reboot. They go full speed when I turn the PC on and then slowly lose speed until they stop completely. I don't think it's some kind of power-saving feature because they didn't turn on again although my GPU was starting to reach 60 degrees Celsius. Before I RMA it (I ordered it from another country to save money so the wait is going to be a bitch), are there any other things I should try to fix it? I tried rolling back GPU drivers which didn't work. Once I had replaced it with my old 560ti the computer kept rebooting for maybe three times until it booted into a screen saying an overclock had failed, and then booted me to BIOS. I couldn't see any overclocking going on anywhere in the BIOS, and I don't have any GPU software that would dynamically OC it under heavy load. And it wasn't under heavy load when it started fucking up either. I suppose one thing I could try is try to let the GPU reach 70 degrees or something to see if it's just some retarded quiet mode thing, but that doesn't seem safe. So, any ideas what to try before RMA? [editline]11th November 2014[/editline] ok maybe I'm being dumb and overreacting again since some articles say the fans aren't supposed to run under 60 degrees, but they sure as hell have been running before today [editline]11th November 2014[/editline] looks like I'm being a dumb little dumbo again it's a wonder I'm not a hypochondriac in real life
Would a Raspberry PI be decent enough for live streaming / watching movies on a TV of 1920x1080? If it is powerful enough for this, I can set up my NAS server for storage for movies (I can view huge ass Fraps videos just fine without even copying it over to my local disk), and as for input I can set up Remotedroid Server to use our Android phones to control it.
Not sure if I've already posted this before but it's still happening. Basically when I power on my PC it goes through BIOS then to the windows loading screen as you'd expect. Except now half of the time it reboots or turns off just as it gets to windows, then it turns back on goes through BIOS and gets to the startup select screen. It's not a huge issue but when it does this I have to pick to start up windows normally, otherwise it defaults to startup repair which can be annoying if I turn it on and leave it to come back a few minutes later. It never turns off or reboots without warning other than when it does this. The only time this PC ever has was months ago but that was back when I was tinkering with a CPU overclock which is stable now.

I never had any issues with mine. [editline]11th November 2014[/editline]
Not sure if I've already posted this before but it's still happening. It sounds like you've either got a failing motherboard or something isn't seated properly.

I might try and get round to it this weekend, although to be honest I wouldn't really be sure what to look out for especially since this only happens when turning it on for the first time in any session.
Any good programmable Keyboards that's under 60? I can really justify myself to buy a near 100 keyboard. =E I was thinking of the Rosewill Gaming Keyboard RK-8100 or the Razer DeathStalker Expert Gaming Keyboard.
MSI or Gainward for 980 GTX?
MSI or Gainward for 980 GTX?
Depends on the cooler you get for either model. If you go for MSI, get the Twin Frozr V model. If you go for Gainward, I would say to buy the Phantom model (but only if there are benchmarks out there that demonstrate its effectiveness in cooling and it happens to be better than MSI).

how did they make the frozr coolers go from looking sleek and metallic to like plastic garbage :(
