How many TB of Files are available to download on Garrysmod.org if i was to download them all. Rough estimation?
So the PSU fan of the computer I use started making a real shitty grinding noise. I have another, weaker PSU which has the same fan to replace. Now it is frowned upon disassembling a PSU, but should I just take caution for the capacitors or what?

As long as you use an abundance of caution, and don't do anything stupid like touch the board, you should be fine. If you're really worried, maybe try some thick insulating gloves.
I'm sorry if this is in the wrong thread. I looking to see if a GTX 970 is compatible with my computer. I don't know how to test things like this. My motherboard is a msi 760gm-p34. If you want or need to know more, PM me. Also, if it isn't, is an R9 290X compatible? If so, is it worth it? Thanks.

Thanks.
There are two things you're looking for that will determine compatibility. The first is the proper slot, which is a PCI-E x16 slot, and the second is a PSU that can supply enough power. So, you should be fine on the first bit. You have one PCI-E x16 slot, the blue one. The question that remains, then, is how many watts your power supply puts out. If it's over 500, you should be fine.
iPhone 4 screen broke the other day, buying an OPO in a few days but I need to get all my contacts off my iPhone so I can get them back when I get my new phone. Only issue is while I can touch the screen I can't actually unlock it for my computer to trust it in order to sync to iTunes which is pissing annoying - some help here would be great. Another question - is that iMessage bullshit still there? Will my texts work?
Something weird has been happening on my PC. Everything is normal for a while until Windows switches to a basic theme (disabling effects and color from windows) and something riles up the GPU and the temperature according to monitors starts to rise and jumping up and down (such as 66C > 71C > 67C). I've always turned my PC off since I don't want to find out what might happen if I leave it like that. This has happened a few times in the last few months, I have not marked down when it has happened but it might be happening when the time is 1:00AM, possibly on Saturday only, although I'm not sure. What could be causing this?
So my headphones are crackling when bass and/or when loud noises are being played. Didn't do anything specific to cause it, but about a week ago the right side started crackling when there was a lot of bass. It disappeared a day later or I forgot about it or something, but it started back up again on both the left and right side. Right now it still is only when there is a fair amount of bass, but it gets worse when you combine it with higher sounds. The popping will disappear at lower volumes, but one it passes a certain point (about what I normally listen to music with) it starts back up. I am worrying this is going to get worse. Any ideas why this could be happening? Sony MDR-XB400's by the way. Don't really want to have to buy new headphones only a year after I got these.
My reference (short PCB) GTX 670 is getting a bit loud and runs a but warmer than it use to. Cleaning doesn't seem to help. I don't feel like I need to replace the card any time soon since all I really play is WoW, Dark Souls 2, Civ, and CS:GO. Instead of getting a new card I was thinking of picking up a new GPU cooler like this one http://www.amazon.com/ARCTIC-Accelero-Mono-Plus-Cooler/dp/B006DAD8HS/ref=cm_rdp_product and since I have about $45 of Amazon credit it doesn't seem like that bad of an idea. Should I stick with my 670 and get a new cooler or just get a newer card? Again, I don't really need anything high-end since everything I play now is fine on mostly high settings at 1440p.

I did that already, temps went down but the fan is the main issue because of the noise it makes
Why are R9 270's so cheap on eBay?

Long story short it turned out it was my graphics card, (I believe it was trying to check for new update drivers at that time) so I reset the drivers and re-installed the driver from the CD I got with my GPU. That being said it may be something completely different. Check to see if Windows is doing a scheduled update at that time. If you can wait up til 1AM, open up task manager go to processes and see if a process appears when the theme changes. Check resources monitor if anything is eating your GPU when it happens.
Why are R9 270's so cheap on eBay?
Because the most bang for your buck you could get by the end of mining was a rig with 6 R9 270's undervolted.
Im trying to clone my netbooks hard drive to a external hard drive, I have been told that using clonezilla would be a good idea, although I am having issues. When I try to launch clonezilla from the USB, all I get is this screen: Any ideas? If anyone could offer a recommendation for some other software that could do the same job that would be helpful, what I want to do is create an image of my netbooks hard drive, that is all.
you've entered the matrix.. on a serious note, i really don't know
I'm thinking of a 21.5" monitor due to my table size, will ASUS VE228H do or should I get one of the Dell monitors of the same size? Or 22"?
Get whatever is a good deal. They are both going to be decent monitors. I have the older version of that asus, it's not bad, albeit it's not my main monitor.
Hey wondering can I get opinion on which laptop my girlfriends brother should get. He wants it purely to play games. The price will be brought down because his dad can get it through work so no VAT. What ya think http://www.dabs.ie/products/acer-e5-571g-15-6-i5-4210u-8gb-1tb-nvidia-geforce-820m-9W21.html?refs=56900000&src=3 Or http://www.dabs.ie/products/dell-inspiron-5748-intel-core-i5-4210u-8gb-1tb-17-3--windows-8-1-professional-64-bit-9Y2Y.html?refs=56900000&src=3
If those are his only options, get the dell. It's still not going to be that good for gaming.
Thanks. Seems like it would be okay with the 840m i thought. Do you see any other laptops on that site that would be a better choice
Yes I do, but they cost more. Max budget?

It got HDMI plug, so I'm good I guess.
Yes I do, but they cost more. Max budget?
The price of the dell is pretty much max budget. His budget is like 550ish. The Dell costs 700+ but he can get it without the added VAT so it brings it to his budget
I got a new PC because the screen stayed black after boot, I just tried my old graphics card in my new PC and it did the same thing. Does this mean the card is broken?
I'm thinking of getting a Samsung 840 Evo 500GB SSD, how durable/reliable are SSDs in general (as well as this one specifically, if anyone knows) and is there anything I should know/do to keep it in good shape? I don't know much about graphics card failure but if your new PC has integrated graphics, you can try taking the card out and seeing if it works without it
Sorry forgot to mention, the integrated graphics work
I don´t know what is going on, but it seems that our house´s router randomly decides to disconnect at very random times, but it seems it has a pattern like going off every hour or so for like very little times (1-5 or 10 seconds) for all of us that have cable connection, but sometimes it even dc´s out me for like a longer period of time if i play something like cs go or dota2. And this has been happening the last week or so. Any possible fixes?
yeah gpu is dead son
I want to give my GPU a good send off then, do you think if I duck taped it to a firework it would still lift off?
Guys and gals I need a new monitor. ANd I am absolutely out of the current status of the market. I need it to be 16:9, at least full HD, 27 inch, 120 Hz, a good panel(is IPS th best right now?), dvi +hdmi 3D is not necessary, I don't like that stuff Any good ideas?

Unless someone else knows if some obscure company is working on something like that, you're better off picking one or the other. I'd personally prioritize getting one with an IPS panel because the colors and contrast are superb, and some games behave oddly at framerates higher than 60FPS (Skyrim comes to mind very quickly with its physics engine screwing up beyond 60, and there are probably others out there too).
