didnt know that, thanks, I'd prefer IPS for photo stuff [editline]19th November 2014[/editline] Acer H276HLbmjd ?? The only downside is the 5ms reaction time [editline]19th November 2014[/editline] nevermind the reviews say it's basically a mirror, man this is hard [editline]19th November 2014[/editline] http://www.amazon.de/MX279H-Monitor-Reaktionszeit-schwarz-silber/dp/B00A4K9KBQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1416360565&sr=1-1&keywords=ASUS+MX279H lookin good, now my only problem is that I don't have a hdmi outlet on my pc yet
http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=40&item_id=055058 Creative Sound Blaster Z - PCI-E card. Opinions on it? Will be going into a local parts store for Black Friday and I'm wanting to pick up a decent card. $120 is the highest I'd go for a sound card.
http://www.asus.com/us/Monitors/ROG_SWIFT_PG278Q/ 1440@144hz :P
Not IPS. That's still just a TN panel. Fine for gaming, but the color accuracy is limited, not so good for photo stuff.
Xonar cards are cheaper. And I have one and they are extremely good quality. Although argument said why you need a dedicated sound card when you could just get a DAC.
...DAC? I can probably skip out on the card, or use a Xonar (I was recommended to go with Creative by a friend before). What would be recommended?
DACs have me interested now, any suggestions?
The Schiit modi is a fairly go-to model for $99. You'd need an amp to go along with it, but a decent amp isn't that terribly much. Probably would end up out of budget though.
My current options are with FIIO's products. Namely the E07K, E09K, and E10K model. ...or are those just amplifiers? edit: would this work?
http://www.asus.com/us/Monitors/ROG_SWIFT_PG278Q/ 1440@144hz :P
Can't find the panel but I imagine at these speeds it's not IPS? [editline]19th November 2014[/editline] I really don't care that much for superfast response time, I'm playing mostly slower games anyway, Strategy, Dota, a little bit TF2 here and there maybe but I'm getting old. I need it to look good.

That's far too big. 27" is already almost too big.
Do like I did and buy this: http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/benq_bl3200pt.htm :v:
definitely not great for colour accuracy. [editline]19th November 2014[/editline] forget about 120hz and buy a used ultrasharp AH IPS. factory calibrated; something being IPS does not make it a good monitor colour accurate 120hz IPS monitors are basically non existant
The sound is transmitted over USB. So it's still a sound card just over USB. What benefits would I get from buying a pci-e wireless card to replace the usb one I am currently using that is a good distance from my router and though 2 brick walls. Is it a no-brainer decision?
What benefits would I get from buying a pci-e wireless card to replace the usb one I am currently using that is a good distance from my router and though 2 brick walls. Is it a no-brainer decision?
More depends on the wireless card in question, and the router. A $20 usb card is probably going to perform roughly same as a $20 pcie card. Now if you have an ac dual band router and a card to match, you're going to get better performance. What are you running now?

Is it a no-brainer decision?
The benefit of a PCIe card is that you can use a much better antenna and has the potential of being a bit more powerful. But it really depends on the card, since there are still shit tier PCIe cards.
I picked up a Netgear A6210, and outside of the official drivers bluescreening my computer on boot, it's worked flawlessly since I installed the Mediatek chipset drivers instead. I get, on average, 50/4 through two frame and drywall interior walls and forty feet of air. That's not bad from a tiny little dongle on the corner of my desk, considering that's the entirety of what I'm paying for.
I'm using a Linksys AE1000 plugged a USB 3.0 slot and with a USB extension to keep it out of the corner of the room. My router is a DPC3825 that we got from rogers with our internet. Here is a shitty MS Paint layout between the my computer and router: [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/34886768/Pictures/Random/internets.png[/t] Blue X is the router Green X is my computer Light green dot is the USB adapter Red lines are old farmhouse outer brick walls Here is a speed test from a wireless computer in the same room as the router: and here is one from my room:
Would that router be strong enough to push data trough cables at a great distance? The last time I tried with an older one didn't work. Also, the router I currently have seems to have a limit on the about of devices connect at once, and will keep disconnecting a random computer or phone like every 10 seconds until it decides to pick on another device. Is there anyway around this issue?
Okay need some outside advice, right now I have a gtx 770, should I get another 770 and SLI it or should I sell the 770 and get a 970 then SLI the 970 within the next 6-9 months? I've been hearing some good things about the 970 and even better things about the 970 in SLI

Is there anyway around this issue?
The spec for twisted-pair ethernet is that a cable run can be up to 100 meters (although slightly under is preferred) before needing a repeater. Most equipment should have no issue with this. That either sounds like a crappy DHCP server or router. Either way, the router is definitely at fault. If you can, you can disable the router's built in DHCP server and create your own using a server on the network, as the router may not be assigning IP's correctly. Other than that, you may just need a better quality router.
I need a rundown on software that can clone hard drives, I need to create an image of my netbook hard drive so I can restore it at a later date (I am going to be using Linux on it for a while). I have tried clonezilla although it wont boot up, I have tried to solve this issue although it wont work. I need some software that can export an image that I can store on my external hard drive.
Does anyone know of a way that I can monitor all usage across my home network? I am often getting bad ping spikes will playing games and there are multiple internet users in my house so I was wondering if there was a way that I could see if there are any active downloads or such across the network. [editline]21st November 2014[/editline] Just trying to narrow down if its the ISP or my fault.
Your router might have that feature, but it might not. Log into the admin page and check it out. I know dd-wrt and tomato have a bandwidth meter.
My bandwidth/usage meters always scare me...
Mine always make me wonder how I'd get on without business-class Internet.
