AFAIK, you can use any SATA 2.5 drive. Sony's site doesn't list any capacity limitations so I assume any drive is okay.
I know some of the older ones had issues with sizes above 750gb. I don't know if that was a software or hardware based limitation though. [editline]16th December 2014[/editline] And by issues I mean it would just read a 1tb as a 750gb.
Looking to buy a decent gaming laptop after christmas for around £800, any suggestions of where to purchase from ? cheers guys.
AFAIK, you can use any SATA 2.5 drive. [editline]16th December 2014[/editline] And by issues I mean it would just read a 1tb as a 750gb.
Don't most 1TB drives read as 750GB because of the way companies market 1TB drives? It's something like 1000mb/gb vs 1024mb/gb, which results in huge losses at larger capacities. The 1TB drive in my Macbook Pro reads as 768GB, even though Apple never sold a 750/760GB hard drive.

My 1TB drives reads as 931GB in Windows. [editline]16th December 2014[/editline] Although most new drives are marketed as 1000GB or 2000GB to be more correct. Both my WD Blue and Seagate Barracuda are like that.
Is there some kind of method or site I can use to check and see how many gigabytes of disk space all of my Steam games are without actually installing all of them? You know, other than visiting each and every store page, checking the system requirements, and manually adding up each number because that's wicked tedious and time-consuming.

What do you guys use for cable management? Considering moving around everything in my room to make it more tidy so I figured it might be good to also sort out the mess that is the wires behind my computer. 3 monitors (So two wires for each monitor), a keyboard that has two cords, mouse cord (I don't like wireless ones) and of course the power lead. I was considering getting a bunch of cable ties to tie them up but it'd still be a mess due to long cords. So what do you guys do?

I use cable ties, cable molding, cloth ties that can mount to the desk, and a PVC conduit to route everything that goes on my desk.
I stuck a couch in front of my desk, so the wires fall behind it. That's about it.
http://www.mysteamgauge.com/account?username=lordgeorge16 [editline]16th December 2014[/editline]
Jesus, and here I was thinking a 512GB SSD would be enough to load Windows 8.1 and all of my Steam games on when I get my new PC.
Just got a around $800, as a relative of mine passed away not long time ago. I've been thinking that I should upgrade my GPU - Would some GTX970 benefit me, I don't really know if my system would be bottlenecking it yet. This is the latest Speccy that I've laying around (I'm on my laptop right now) The motherboard is really awful from what I know. But I've clocked the 920 to 3.1Ghz from what I remember. [editline]17th December 2014[/editline] Oh yeh, and recently I got an SSD installed into that machine. So I got that covered.
what's the best bang for the buck android phone with most inside storage and is not a too slim or too large screen size? and what about the best bang for the buck for the lightest and small, compact laptop?
what's the best bang for the buck android phone with most inside storage and is not a too slim or too large screen size? and what about the best bang for the buck for the lightest and small, compact laptop?
Probably the Nexus 5 for the phone, for the laptop it's all on what you're wanting out of it. In small sizes there will be many options with various compromises.
My little brother's video card is dying and my dad was searching around for a good budget card for him: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=14-127-799 MSI GAMING N750 TF 2GD5/OC G-SYNC Support GeForce GTX 750 2GB 128-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card Is there a better card at a comparable price, or would this be good enough for games like Dark Souls and TF2?

Not quite as much. The 750 is alright, but an r9 270 or 750ti would be a far better choice.
And now I hate myself. Yay.
I like to consider myself a steam game collector.
Over the last 5 years, you've spent 2651 hours playing this selection, which includes 371 items, is valued at $5318.52, and requires 1652.4 GB
Hey. We need to destroy a couple of HP probook 4350 batteries. They are both completely useless but are covered by a HP support license. We tried to get new ones, but the IT department is required to run a HP test, apparently it passed the test at "Very poor performance", so we want to render them inoperable without exploding and looking painfully obvious. We have all kinds of electrical test equipment that can damage it, but we don't know what to use.
Could a 750ti run on my 650w PSU?
Most definitely. The 750 Ti is designed to be a very power-conserving GPU, and a 650W power supply is more than enough to keep it running at peak conditions.
Literally just bought an eHD enclosure for an old laptop hard-drive. I backed everything up I needed to and about half-way through the format, honestly, I hardly tapped the USB cable and it must have came out by a millimetre but of course the format stopped.
Well part way through asking you guys if it could be causing my computer to not recognise the HD is plugged in. So in spite of everything I know, I pull out the USB like 1 millimetre and now it recognises that it's plugged in. wtf
So i might get a old hdd from a friend that works fine (I think). Problem is I don't have any hdd space in my computer, SATA port I have it's just that I don't have anywhere to put it. Just lay it inside the computer seems weird. I have a HAF 932 as a case and wonder if there are any cheap good thing you can buy to put my hdd in? Hope that somehow explains it. Thanks.
I'm getting these weird things and other corruption with some folders. It happens with folders with pictures/videos/other files where it would show a thumbnail. Is this something serious? Should I be worried? How do I fix it? I tried deleting IconCache but that didn't seem to work. Once the folder updates, such as when you add in another file, it appears fixed. Okay, now it's happening on a few thumbnails. Now that I know it is not specific to me, I am even more worried it might be a virus.
I think I got it fixed by deleting the Thumbnail Cache, at least for now.
