Wow that's really useful, how did I never hear about this before?

Resource Monitor has sort of superseded it for most purposes in the past few years, and its pretty old. Its been around since Windows 2000 at least. But it still has its uses.
Money aside, I've heard that studio monitors aren't good for general use? How true is that?
I can't really see any downside to it. At the end of the day they're just really really well-tuned speakers. If anything they'll just make everything you do sound a little bit better.

They just have a flat sound curve compared to many speakers that put emphasis on certain frequencies. They are meant for accurate sound reproduction for sound mastering and production. Its not inherently a bad thing as long as that's the sound your looking for.
The reason people point that out is that the bass may not hit as hard or the treble as high as many would like. Accuracy is first and foremost with these.
So thinking of buying a 2TB drive for my computer to complement my 1TB that is soon getting full.
I was considering doing the following:
Clone drive one (1TB) onto drive two (2TB) with Clonezilla (if there's a better program for this let me know)
Set drive two as the drive to boot from.
Purge drive one and use it as regular storage.
Will this work OK? For all intents and purposes I want to "expand" my hard drive.
I just picked up a 2tb drive because my 1tb filled up and all I did was move my media over to the 2tb, designate It as a dedicated media/vm drive, then put my 1tb as purely a games drive. Although I've got my OS installed on a third drive

cost for sp3 is ~600usd, cost for rMBP is ~900. currently using windows primarily. can't decide whether or not touch is gimmicky or not, which is pretty much the thing that's making me not sure. also storage of rMBP is nice, considering that the only sp3 with 512 is the i7, which would be just under 2000
Well do you need more portability, or performance?

The rMBP is the best laptop you can get at that price point, hands down. But when you're looking at the Surface Pro, you're not comparing it to the rMBP. You're comparing it to the MBA, which is a fairly capable computer in its own right, and so is the Surface Pro. You can even install OS X on the Surface, and it apparently makes a pretty solid little hackintosh.
I'm still not really buying Microsoft's attempts at a touch-based desktop OS, but if you think that fits your style, the best you can do is buy one and try it out. Worst cast scenario, you find out it's not for you and return it within the 15-30 day window, and take a closer look at the rMBP. Best case, it works for you and you end up loving it.
EDIT: See you're buying used. Go visit Best Buy or somewhere, and give them a go in the field. See which one you like using better, and that should help you form an opinion.
I'd kill for a 14" system with iris though for light gaming.

I'll be honest, I've got a 15" MBP with the last discrete graphics card they shoved into them, and it does pretty well at most of the stuff I throw at it. Still don't use it for gaming, because I never have time. If I want to play a game, I'll play a game on my desktop.

Just for when I'm out of town, I'd like my T420 with iris. That would be perfect for me.

not buying used, buying brand new

Oh. Then yeah, buy one and try it out. If you don't like it, return it and get the other.
While getting out drive rails for my upcoming ssd install, I noticed there were a bunch of these in the box:

What are they and what are they for?

Look like bits for toolless drive installation. My case has them, they make things so much easier.

After further inspection, you are correct. The FDD ones don't seem to fit anywhere though.

Is gaming over wi-fi ever possible if you keep good signal strength, my current situation is move laptop a inch and it'll change. Trying channels now, but I can't run ethernet because need to get a new Adapter for it.

I've been gaming over the last few years on 5ghz, I think wired would be a little better but there's really no major downside if you can get a really good/stable connection
going to be getting a corsair 200r, im getting one extra case fan (in addition to the front panel and rear panel stock fans), where would be the "best" place to put it? im thinking side panel intake with the stock fans staying where they are (front panel-bottom intake, rear panel-top exhaust)
the other option is probably a top exhaust but that'd put me in negative air pressure, i dunno if the "better" cooling is worth more dust, if having the fan as a top exhaust would be better at all...
Can anyone recommend me a flight stick setup for under $100? Will be buying used most likely on eBay. Unless any of you have one to sell.

the macbook pro completely slams down the sp3. sp3 has a considerably worse display, and has pretty huge throttling issues. slower storage, worse keyboard/trackpad by miles etc.

The Thrustmaster Hotas X is great for the price. It's what I've been using for Elite: Dangerous, and I've never had a problem with it. It's not exactly professional quality, but it's sturdy enough.
Also, looking for a good wireless router at a decent price. I have a pretty big house that I need to cover, and I'm brand new to routers and have no idea what I'm doing. Any tips/recommendations? Thanks in advance!

I'm currently using the Motorola Surfboard Modem/Router combo piece, but it doesn't reach everywhere in my house.

Well Elite: Dangerous is exactly what I plan on using it for, so that's great to know

My usual go to recommendation for large houses and budget is the Asus rtn16

Ordered one. Decided to go new because the pickings on ebay were slim, and the only one that was less than new was like $3 less after shipping.
So... best graphics card on a $100 budget?
