where do I go in aida64 to benchmark? I'm assuming thats what you want me to do?
nevermind I got it. This is with Furmark 1080p preset and the aida64 stability test going: The furmark test completed but I stopped the aida one because I didn't want to make it too hot. [editline]4th January 2015[/editline] this was after maybe a minute
so getting those temps in under a minute in normal? seems insanely hot to me.
I can run the test now, I'm moving soon so I'll just pack up the rest of my room while I do it. How long do you want me to run it for minimum?
8gb. My nvidia drivers just crashed and restarted when i launched chrome. Don't know if that means anything
i literally installed them today. cant login to windows with my gpu in the computer now, as soon as i get to the login screen for windows, it goes black and says "no cable detected" on my screen as though the pc is turned off. gpu is sitting on my desk and im using the pc through the motherboard this gpu is just over a year old [editline]4th January 2015[/editline] after a lot of tries i also realised i cant boot from a usb, when i try to put the memtest iso on a disk it says invalid msdos function
F8 while it boots for safe mode, although are you on 8.1?
Got memtest to work, its running now. Would a bad GPU cause all my issues because its literally a year old. Its a gtx 760 [editline]4th January 2015[/editline] memtest did 2 passes and found nothing, told me i could press esc to exit.
Are Headphones with removable cables worth the price increase? It seems like it would make the headphones indestructible.
You know, there was an entire earbud brand built around the idea of modular, audiophile-grade earbuds a few years back. Wonder where that went?
Are Headphones with removable cables worth the price increase? It seems like it would make the headphones indestructible.
I have a pair of headphones with removable cables (NVX XPT100) and I think it's a pretty nifty feature. Took me a while to figure out how deeply I had to connect the cables though because I was worried that pushing too hard would damage the cans. One day I was sick of constantly losing the hearing in one side or the other whenever I turned my head an inch or so, so I gave each plug a nice bit of force and they finally clicked into place. [editline]4th January 2015[/editline] The moral of the story is that if you do get a pair of headphones with detachable cables, make sure they're connected as tightly as you can manage before you assume it's a bad pair.

I kind of liked the idea.
I made a thread but I probably should've asked here. I need a software to manage srcds servers with (saving startup commands etc.) anyone got any advice?
I found a good one here. For anyone else who might need.
Hey guys, my CPU is hitting 70-71c under load, is that too hot? I have an i5 4670k @ 3.9ghz
Hey guys, my CPU is hitting 70-71c under load, is that too hot? I have an i5 4670k @ 3.9ghz
Yes, but I wouldn't necessarily worry about it too much. Those processors are built to throttle under high thermal stress, so it'll knock itself down before it gets dangerously hot. Still, I'd look into another CPU cooler, or replacing your thermal paste.
So am I understanding RAM correctly?: that RAM helps allocate tasks away from the CPU so that the CPU doesn't get bogged down with processes? Is that why getting more ram helps ease CPU usage?
Is there any way to connect a flatscreen TV to a PC (or an android tablet) and use it as a monitor wirelessly? It's an older panel, none of that smart tv stuff.
So am I understanding RAM correctly?: that RAM helps allocate tasks away from the CPU so that the CPU doesn't get bogged down with processes? Is that why getting more ram helps ease CPU usage?
You're not really understanding it properly. The CPU does the "thinking" - all the actual processing happens there. You can't "fill it up", you just might give it more work than it can do at a reasonable pace. The RAM does the "remembering" - think of it like scratch paper when doing math. If it runs out of space, it starts using your hard drive to store the overflow, which is much, much slower, and this will pretty much instantly kill your performance. If the problem is that you can't fit all the data you need into memory, then yes, more RAM would help. But if the problem is that your CPU is too weak, more RAM will do absolutely nothing.

It's up there but still within safe voltage
Is there a safe, non-pirating way to get like a trial of Z-Brush?
Where can I buy an old ass pc running windows 98?
Will switching from Vista to 7 actually make my games run better?

The reason I ask is because I want to play Payday 2, and my computer meets the recommended requirements (except for the video card) but it runs like shit; I set it to the lowest graphics settings and lowest resolution, but I get less than 10 fps. [editline]8th January 2015[/editline] Hell, some of the games I own sometimes have a frame rate so low it would be more accurate to measure it in seconds per frame.

What GPU do you currently have and your CPU?
I have a 720p video and I want to make a short webm of about 15 seconds from it. What'd be the best way to do it while being relatively small but still have some quality?
