I want to buy a notebook for around 500€, any suggestions?
You should remember to write country. Also you're probaly getting more help in PC Building.
(I see your german through Steam though - you should do something about it anyways)
my laptop keeps heating up when doing nothing but the internet. It uses that thing where it switches between the dedicated and integrated GPU for doing certain tasks. Even when the GPU isn't being used for anything, my laptop is heating up and the fan is going nuts when it's usually silent. what's causing this? if I leave it alone for too long it heats up so much that it bluescreens.
Sometimes when you arn't doing anything your virus protection can decide to do background scans. It shouldn't be heating up so much it dies though, something is wrong heat wise for sure. Try setting up something like speccy and monitor the temperature and see what is making all the heat.
Also run a virus scan if you haven't yet just incase
I quick a small problem, my second monitor, which is already more than 7/8 years old, already has 3 year the problem that after having it on on a regular contrast and brightness some colours will get trippy.
I have a video explaining what it does, it's not a huge problem for me because I don't use it as a main monitor but I was wondering if there could be a fix for it.

Could it be from the warmth of the backlight?
Is there a way to restore from 6.1 to 6.1 in iPhone 4s? I want to restore to clean my device but be able to jailbreak later. I have the blobs saved, but I don't think you can anymore. Can someone confirm?
Can anyone answer this please? I'm going to look if the apple subforum exists in the mean time

Nope. Any device with the A5 chip or above can only be updated to a firmware signed by Apple on iOS 6.x. Sorry for the wait, I must have missed the original post.

Ah, damn. Thanks for the reply though
Now I have to decide if it's worth keeping the jailbreak
One last thing, there are times were I simply lose my 3g connection for a short while, but it may happen constantly throughout the day in a daily basis. Can this be because of the jailbreak? As far as I know, it was fine before I jailbroke

Is it at the same place as you usually have it?
Because there are places where I loose it too.

Are these scratches on this disc reparable?

I'm guessing not, but I'm still holding hope.

Possibly. Try buffing it out as best as you can - they don't look too bad. It seems to just be on the surface, not the actual data layer.
I've heard of people having some success using toothpaste - I've never needed to fix a disc with it, but it might work if nothing else does.

Be very careful with this. There are many different kinds of toothpaste. One time I accidentally used one with a bunch of granules of baking soda or something in it and it just ended up scratching the entire disc.

I've probably asked this before, but do I need laptop recovery disks if I have a retail Windows disc and the product key on the laptop? What do recovery disks actually contain? I have an Acer, and the backup thing gave me four ISOs: RECOVERY1, RECOVERY2, RECOVERY3, and APPDRV. The APPDRV one looks useful for reinstalling drivers, but what are the RECOVERY ones? Just an OEM Windows installer?

Nope

Windows + all the bloat that came with it
Thanks. I bought Windows 8 for my laptop anyway so I'll just reinstall that if anything happens.
I used metal polish to repair a ps2 disk before. Probably not a good idea though.
Not sure if this is the right place to ask but how much are these worth? I want to sell it on craigslist.
Q9550
Gigabyte EP45-UD3P
4GB Kingston HyperX DRR2-8500
I was thinking $250-$300 CAD? The Q9550 still can hold pretty well with modern GPUs and the motherboard is one of the best for LGA775.
How reliable are Mushkin Chronos SSDs?
I'm looking to get an SSD for my desktop. I can get a 180GB Chronos for a pretty reasonable price, but I'm a bit concerned about the reliability.
The lack of performance doesn't bother me much - it's still a million times better than a hard drive, and the system it's going in only supports SATA II anyways, so top-tier performance is a waste.
If Mushkin isn't reliable, I'll probably just drop down to a 120GB drive, like the Samsung 840, or maybe another Crucial M4 like I have in my laptop. Smaller, yes, but still quite usable.

Your best(and safest) bet might be to find a local shop that will do disk repairs (a lot of game and movie stores that do trade ins can do this, since they often need to repair trade ins for re-sale)
Libreoffice is complete shit and I hate it, I'm doing an assignment for Spanish class due tomorrow and I can't figure out how to create keyboard shortcuts to insert letters with accents over them like é, ñ etc.

You should look into getting a compose key.
I use a program called AllChars to convert my Caps Lock key into a compose key.
so my odd was for unknown reasons sitting there spinning at like a billion RPM for possibly an hour or more before i came in and stopped it
it had just gotten done burning an audio CD using the program Imgburn
Could that have hurt it?

This happened to me when I had a faulty DVI connection. Check your cable.

Uppercase accented keys and lowercase are separate. Why not temporarily change the language of your computer/keyboard? This will make specific keys the shortcut (although youll have to look up which ones since i doubt it will be listed on your keyboard) and the rest should be normal letters. Almost every keyboard ever uses the basic qwerty set up with different special keys
I ended up using FreeCompose, which is fine but has this odd beeping noise.

I've used several cables for this monitor but the problem is still there.
I bought this item for my new 5.1 speakers http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com.au/viewitem?itemId=300647938560 and bow that I have it apparently it doesn't support windows 7 but does support windows XP.. It works fine as a stereo, is there a fix for this? I really don't want to buy a new sound card again.

I had this and it was because the drive was marked as external in my BIOS, just had to turn external off.
Is there a way to create a hard drive image onto a set of DVDs in XP?
Of the three dells, what would be the best choice (price is not a problem here, I'm eyeing something that has good specs and is fast)
Inspiron 17RSE
Inspiron 15z
