My anti virus, Norton Internet Security (I'm not going to change so don't even bring that up) decided today that Hyperdesktop should be blocked. Can't seem to get it back. What do I do?

Option 1: Ditch Norton. (MSE is good enough)
Option 2: Puush.
Option 3: Make an acception for Hyperdesktop in Norton.
So now that the weather is changing here in the midwest US, we've started shutting windows and starting up the AC in the house. Now, the room my computer lives in isn't the best-ventilated room in the house, and on hotter days it is noticeably warmer in there than the rest of the house [sp]great place for my PC yeah [/sp]. I usually have a smaller box fan running near the vent just to pull the cool air away from the wall and into the rest of the room. Now, you could probably guess that computer gets fairly warm under these circumstances. The strange part is that when the side panel is of, all the temperatures drop by a few degrees and generally run cooler than with the side panel on.
When I first noticed this last year I immediately thought that I must've dicked up my airflow. I have a beefy 120mm fan pulling air in through the front and a 120mm fan exhausting out back. I also have a 90mm fan on the side panel that also exhausts. I don't have the exact CFMs for the fans, but when I put it all together last year I had figured a slightly negative pressure environment.
My temps are fine anyways with the side panel on. My CPU, an AMD Phenom II 955, idles between 37° and 39°, and rarely goes over 55°. My NVidia gtx460 idles around 34° and doesn't go above ~60°. With the side panel off, those temps are usually lower by 1 or 2 degrees. Since I'm pretty sure I have a negative pressure environment inside with the panel on, why would higher pressure when the side is off lower the temps?
How far do you get with 750W psu?
Gonna get my self a new computer during the summer, I hope, (Long time away I know but setting up a budget) and my psu is a Corsair TX 750W and it's still running great!
Let's just say I buy i5 and 7870 + a bunch of other stuffs. Will 750W still be good?

I had norton for quite a while assume it has just thrown it in quarantine, you should be able to go in to the quarantine tab and just tell it to pull it back out and shut up.
Had to do this a lot when my boyfriend would send me programs he had coded and norton would go "not enough other people use this! kill it immediately!"

I built a 3570k(4.6GHz)+7870 rig for a friend on an Antec Neo Eco 520w. High-wattage PSUs are really only necessary for multi-GPU rigs.
I got a SteelSeries Kana mouse. It was the first true "gaming" mouse I purchased and I haven't been disappointed yet. The DPI changing switch has its useful applications for a variety of scenarios, but overall I think the DPI gimmick is just that.
Though the mouse feels great in my hand, it's smooth and has a nice weight. I don't like a lot of harsh edges on my periphs so this foot the bill.
is the kana good? I'm about to get the csgo version. :v:

Looking for a laptop for college to be ordered tonight, anyone willing to help?
I've found this laptop so far and it seems almost perfect for what I'm looking for: http://www.ebuyer.com/479749-lenovo-ideapad-z585-laptop-mad6buk
But if anyone is willing to help and have a look/knows better than me, I'd appreciate it. For anyone who might want to waste some time helping, here are some requisites:
Must be 15" or smaller
£400 or under, no exceptions to budget
Relatively decent/modern CPU
Preferably a dedicated GPU of some decency, since it will be used for general gaming in downtimes.
At least 500GB of storage, not concerned about the speed of the drive, standard 5400 is fine.
Weight isn't much of a concern, anything 15" or under pretty much guarantees I can handle it.
So far that Lenovo seems to meet all of those, but I'm curious to see if anyone can find anything substantially better or any opinions on the Lenovo.
Haha fuck my life, I didn't realize I was already using my DVI-I to VGA adapter, and I only have DVI-D left
Will this work on my EVGA 660 Ti:
HDMI running to a DVI adapter in main monitor
DVI-I to vga adapter running to left monitor
Displayport to vga adapter running to right monitor
[editline]15th May 2013[/editline]
More specifically this adapter for the Display port to vga

Why do you need all those converters? Do your monitors not have modern inputs or something?
Why do you need all those converters? Do your monitors not have modern inputs or something?
Only VGA on the two ones at the side, and the main one is VGA and DVI only
So yeah, my card only has DVI-I DVI-D HDMI and Displayport
[editline]15th May 2013[/editline]
I just need to know if it will work for me, so I can order it or not
norton would go "not enough other people use this! kill it immediately!"
I fucking hate when AV programs do this.
Low file prevalence does not automatically equal malware. I have to turn it off in every AV solution I've come across (except MSE which doesn't seem to have this feature yet).
I'm sure it prevents idiots from running everything they can find and turning their computer into a virus infested hellhole but frankly if you don't stick a checkbox in to turn it off (or at least make it only pop up a warning and not do anything unless asked) your AV's going straight in the bin.
With the help of the people in the PC Building section I put this build together. I just want to be absolutely sure that
- I can use CrossFire in the future if I choose
- The parts are balanced/wont bottleneck each other
- I didn't choose shitty parts/parts that don't make sense
- I'll be able to run modern games fairly well (60 fps at medium settings I suppose)

Thanks.

From what I can see you've ordered thermal paste without ordering a different cooler
the stock cooler for the i5 already has thermal paste on it

I really need to know if this adapter will work, hnnng

I thought it was generally a better idea to remove the stock thermal paste and apply your own. It isn't entirely unnecessary I know, but wouldn't it ensure optimal heat transfer?

its good to have extra, but you don't need to replace the stock paste, it's sometimes good to replace it on GPUs because it's often applied poorly (in my experience) but I think CPUs do pretty well.
oh god... GPU paste... cracked dried out paste oozing onto the PCB
My house for college next year has a 1.5mb/s down, and my 4g phone has about the same, is there a way to connect both and get 3.0mb/s down?
That not even possible unless there witchcraft involved.
You could maybe get a torrent client to do that with some serious bullshittery, but not an HTTP download.
I know it was a silly question. Well that was the main intention so I will look into that.
Nevermind, I think I got this.
1080p for sure, but you are better off buying pretty much any brand that is not Acer. All they do is break or look shitty.
This is on sale:

If you don't plan on buying before that sale ends:

If you are willing to spend a little more:

I completely forgot what the price of that first one was when you posted this so going by the current prices which one of those is the best?
The first and third are both the same price so if one of them is better I'll get that one.
Anyone here have experience with a Chrome OS laptop? How are they?

Limited. The Samsung chromebook, the $250 ARM one, while cheap (and it shows) is a great web browser if only for its amazingly low weight, size and battery life.
My dad has a hardrive that has 750 gigs of music on it. He wants a software that will organize it and just let him play it. He's tried Zune and a few others but he said they have a maximum of 250 gigs of music. He's die hard windows guy so no Itunes or anything Mac.
http://www.mediamonkey.com/ will organize (tag) music for you
My computer thinks every click is middle mouse button click.
I've tried it with three mice that work on other computers, it's a software problem. I haven't installed anything before or around the time it started happening.

I was wondering why it wouldn't synchronize.
Does anyone know why this happens? (And how to fix it)
