I have to edit registry settings to get my Russian BF3 to English. I have an SSD(C Drive) that has my OS on it, and a secondary drive (D Drive) with all my games on it. How do I edit the registry on the secondary folder? I have followed instructions to change language and it doesn't work so I presume it is trying to change the registry of the BF3 folder thats on the C Drive for some reason.

Anyone know the theoretical max length of a VGA cable if I'm pushing an 800x600 signal through it? Results in Google vary from 10 ft to 100ft.
I have about $50 leftover for my build. I'm can't decide whether I should upgrade my RAM to 16GB using the leftover, or upgrading my motherboard from the Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 to the ASUS 990FXA Sabertooth AM3+ (with my AMD FX-8350). Also, are the Samsung 840's (not 840 Pro) 120GB SDD's any good? and are gaming mouse-pads really worth it?

It's essentially their budget model and generally speaking won't last as long as the 840 Pro. [editline]5th March 2013[/editline] They'll both last years though, so if you'd like to save money on it then the 840 is still a good SSD. If you want the speeds of the 840 Pro but for a little cheaper then look at the Kingston HyperX 3K and Corsair Neutron GTX.

Apparently this happens when the process is only terminable by SYSTEM (i.e. no human user can terminate). I don't know why it's happening with your Steam, but try this program: http://processhacker.sourceforge.net/index.php also you might have a virus lul
Its amazing how much simply picking out some dust can help with cooling. My GPU dropped 7C and I barely did anything.
Actual servers are really loud. Just install Ubuntu on an older desktop.
However, I don't have any old desktop computers that are at my house. There may be an old desktop that my dad brought to his lab. It'd be $70 though, and if there isn't an old desktop at his lab, wouldn't it probably be a better idea to just buy that server? Or should I look around on craigslist for an old desktop and use that for a home server?

If it's a P4-era server, it's definitely not worth it. If you can find a desktop with a Core 2 Duo and 2-4GB of RAM, it would work great.
It's got two xeon 2.4ghz processors and 5gb of PC2100 ram. As well as 2 80gb hard drives in raid 5.. It's a dell poweredge 2650. I'm pretty sure it's just DDR memory instead of DDR2. That seems like the only downfall, but I doubt it'll be too bad for home use. The two poorest specs seem to be the memory and I'm assuming the hard drive is 5400 rpm instead of 7200, so it'll probably be slow as fuck when transferring files. I'll look around for low range pc's and see if I find something for $50. [editline]5th March 2013[/editline] There's actually a better server that looks like a desktop. It has a single 2.4ghz xeon, 4gb of ddr2, and a 146gb 10,000rpm drive. I'll probably do that because it's $50 compared to $70.

The second server sounds better, though you might want to find out the specific specs.
it's another dell. poweredge SC-440. looks pretty good for a server that's $50
The poweredge 2650 is netburst, which means that it's slow and hot. The second server sounds better, though you might want to find out the specific specs.
Not going to be too much quieter, though - 10KRPM drives tend to be loud.
it's another dell. poweredge SC-440. looks pretty good for a server that's $50
Not bad for $50, though it looks like it has a Pentium D, Celeron D or whatever the equivalent Xeon is. They're not great CPUs either.
Yeah. It's gonna be in my kitchen right next to cable modem. I won't hear it unless I'm in that room, I guess.

Okay so I just got an Asus RT-N56U router. The router I had before this was a super bad stock one I got off the ISP. What differences should I notice with a new router? If any at all? With the old router, refreshing a server list would crash my internet, and when I use uTorrent to download, I wouldn't be able to browse the internet either. Will these issues be resolved with a new router? Any other things I should be aware of?

Port forwarding is smooth, combining with fiber means that even though everyone's downloading or we have 20 clients on it - it doesn't feel like there is anyone on. Our wireless also runs amazing, and specificly my router has 5ghz as well making my MacBook and some wireless cards run even faster. Also, you should use Google's DNS. If it's your own router you can configure DHCP to force Google's. (8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4) it will speed up your connection and you should not have that many issues any longer.

And will my server browser still crash my internet and uTorrent? I read that getting a new router would fix that as it has something to do with the amount of connections coming in at once or something?

Yes, so of course it works. It works friggin everywhere.
Does google work in your country? Yes, so of course it works. It works friggin everywhere.
I thought it might of been something to do with Google Fiber cause you mentioned that. How exactly do I go about changing to Googles DNS?
Reccomend me a good VPS.
Reccomend me a good VPS.
If your are looking for good performance on the cheap side I recommend Hostigation. Its run by a single person, but he is probably the single fastest support I've ever seen from a cheap vps service. And then if you have a little more money to spend you probably want to go with BuyVM. If you are looking for an expensive top dollar VPS you probably want to go with Burst.net's Premium or SSD line.

Got it thanks! So any issues with server browser and torrent downloading should be fixed now with a new router yeah? Any other good tips or tricks to improve performance and speed?
